Adds decal version of recharge floor (#91545)
## About The Pull Request Extracts the recharge floor icon into a decal you can put on any floor ## Why It's Good For The Game Sometimes mappers want to use alternate floor types in their mech bays and it gets annoying to have to pick between "use normal iron floors" or "use recharge floors" ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert qol: Mappers can put recharge floors on any floor type /🆑 |

Audits wash/cleaning signals + refactors wash() to ensure no needless mob updates occur (#91259)
## About The Pull Request This has the potential to create a lot of needless mob updates which is not great. Now should only update a mob's clothing if it was actually washed. This PR 1) ensures that all wash() procs return a bitflag. 2) ensures that `wash()` proccalls which result in expensive operations like icon updates only do so when it is necessary ## Why It's Good For The Game Updating mob sprites is expensive, and doing it when nothing has been changed is bad. ## Changelog Nothing really player facing |

Crafting refactor, implementing materials (#89465)
My original plan was to just implement materials into crafting so that items would inherit the materials of their components, allowing for some interesting stuff if the material flags of the item allow it. However to my dismay crafting is a pile of old tech debt, starting from the old `del_reqs` and `CheckParts` which still contain lines about old janky bandaids that are no longer in use nor reachable, up to the `customizable_reagent_holder` component which has some harddel issues when your custom food is sliced, and items used in food recipes not being deleted and instead stored inside the result with no purpose as well as other inconsistencies like stack recipes that transfer materials having counterparts in the UI that don't do that. EDIT: Several things have come up while working on this, so I apologise that it ended up changing over 100+ files. I managed to atomize some of the changes, but it's a bit tedious. EDIT: TLDR because I was told this section is too vague and there's too much going on. This PR: - Improves the dated crafting code (not the UI). - replaced `atom/CheckParts` and `crafting_recipe/on_craft_completion` with `atom/on_craft_completion`. - Reqs used in food recipes are now deleted by default and not stored inside the result (they did nothing). - Renames the customizable_reagent_holder comp and improves it (No harddels/ref issues). - Adds a unit test that tries to craft all recipes to see what's wrong (it skips some of the much more specific reqs for now). - In the unit test is also the code to make sure materials of the crafted item and a non-crafted item of the same type are roughly the same, so far only applied to food. - Some mild material/food refactoring around the fact that food item code has been changed to support materials. Improving the backbone of the crafting system. Also materials and food code. 🆑 refactor: Refactored crafting backend. Report possible pesky bugs. balance: the MEAT backpack (from the MEAT cargo pack) may be a smidge different because of code standardization. /🆑 |

[MDB IGNORE] Blood Refactor Chapter 2: Collector's Edition (#91054)
Refactors most of blood handling code untouched by #90593 and completely rewrites all blood decals, components and reagents. - Blood types now have behavioral flags which allow them to control where they leave decals/DNA/viruses. Oil no longer transfers DNA and viruses with it, while podpeople water-blood doesn't leave visible decals on turfs and items, but still can be picked up by DNA scanners. - Multiple blood types have received unique handling - liquid electricity blood now glows in the dark, oil trails are flammable and lube ones are slippery. Oil blood can be restored with fuel, lube with silicon and slime with stable plasma (as normal plasma already passively regenerates their blood), instead of everything using iron. Saline solution only supplements on iron-based blood and won't do anything to help with bloodloss for species who rely on different blood types. (Roundstart this applies only to Ethereals) - All blood logic has been moved away from the blood reagent itself into a blood element that is assigned to the blood reagent by default, and to any reagent that's drawn from a mob as their "blood" (in ``transfer_blood_to``). This means that blood you draw from lizards will be green and have lizard's blood description instead of mentioning red blood cells, Ethereal "blood" will actually contain their DNA and genes, etc. - Refactored all blood decals. Blood states are no more, everything is now handled via blood DNA. Credits to MrMelbert and Maplestation, as a significant amount of code has been taken from https://github.com/MrMelbert/MapleStationCode/pull/436 and many of his followup PRs. Oil and xenomorph splatters are now subtypes of blood, blood drying is now animated, blood trails now curve and can be diagonal. - Rewrote bloodysoles and bloody_spreader components, credits to Melbert again for the former, while latter now makes more sense with its interactions. Bloody soles no longer share blood DNA with your hands. - Ported Melbert's bloody footprint sprites and bot-blood-spreading functionality. - Removed all species-side reagent interactions, instead they're handled by said species' livers. (This previously included exotic blood handling, thus the removal) - Slightly optimized human rendering by removing inbetween overlay holders for clothing when they're not needed. - Blood-transmitted diseases will now get added to many more decals than before. - Cleaned up and partially refactored replica pods, fixed an issue where monkeys/manipulators were unable to harvest mindless pods. - Exotic bloodtype on species now automatically assigns their blood reagent, without the need to assign them separately. - Clown mobs now bleed (with colorful reagent instead of blood during april fools), and so do vatbeasts (lizard blood) - Implemented generic procs for handling bleeding checks, all sorts of scanners now also correctly call your blood for what it is. - Podpeople's guts are now lime-green like their organs, instead of being weirdly greyish like their water-blood. (Their bleeding overlays are still grey, as they're bleeding water) - Slimepeople now can bleed. Their jelly is pale purple in color, but their wound overlays copy their body color. - Injecting/spraying/splashing/etc mob with a reagent preserves its data, so you could theoretically recycle fine wines from someone's bloodstream - Fixed burdened chaplain's sect never actually giving a blessing when applying effects, and giving a blessing when nothing can be healed. Inverted check strikes again. - Closes #91039 A lot of blood here has dried, visually the blood colors are almost exactly the same as before either of the blood refactors. |

Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it, `attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the resulting attack This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not unarmed attacks. This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for swing combat). 🆑 Melbert refactor: Batons have been refactored again. Baton stuns now properly count as an attack, when before it was a nothing. Report any oddities, particularly in regards to harmbatonning vs normal batonning. refactor: The method of adjusting item damage mid-attack has been refactored - some affected items include the Nullblade and knives. Report any strange happenings with damage numbers. refactor: A few objects have been moved to the new interaction chain - records consoles, mawed crucible, alien weeds and space vines, hedges, restaurant portals, and some mobs - to name a few. fix: Spears only deal bonus damage against secure lockers, not all closet types (including crates) /🆑 |

Fix map_export admin verb not saving objects properly (#90998)
## About The Pull Request When using the `map_export` admin verb the following things are fixed: - All objects density, anchored, opacity, atom_integrity, and resistance_flags vars are saved - Multi-tile objects being spammed on all tiles the sprite reaches - Dirt decals error icon - Airlocks error icon and to save welded state - Dark Wizard Simple Mobs error icon - Closets to save welded, open, and locked states - Air alarms to save name - Air scrubbers/vents to save name and welded states - APCs to save name, charge, cell, lighting, equipment, and environmental states - APCs spawning a duplicated terminal underneath it when one already exists - SMES to save charge, input, and output states - Holodecks to revert any holodeck turfs to the empty turf and skip saving any hologram items - Photos and Paintings error icons - Bloody Footprints error icons - False Walls error icons - Docking Ports runtimes because the map template var would change - Effects (lasers, portals, beams, sparks, etc.) saving when they should be omitted I would have loved to get `component_parts` to save for machines and turf decals, but perhaps that is for another day since it requires complicated solutions. Here are some before and after pictures: ## Why It's Good For The Game Better map saving code. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Fix `map_export` admin verb not properly saving a massive amount of objects. /🆑 |

[MDB Ignore] Damp Rag can now get dirty / Repaths damp rag (it's no longer a cup) (#90700)
- Damp rag is now no longer god's perfect cleaning tool. After blood, the damp rag will collect it, and after cleaning a lot of blood, you can no longer clean with the rag until you wash it in a sink (or with cleaner or however you want) - This means the rag will collect DNA in it as you clean, which gives detectives an opportunity to investigate. - It also means the DNA it collects will occasionally spread onto you, meaning you will have to clean your gloves or hands. - Cleaning vomit and such is (currently) unaffected (and does not dirty the rag). - Diseases are not currently transferred to the rag (but this would be fun to add) - Gauze now gets dirty when using it to wrap bleeding wounds. This is just visual, though blood DNA gets transferred. It can be washed in a sink. - Removed gauze on sink / cloth on sink interaction. - Can't really wash gauze with it, plus it's redundant. - Damp rag is no longer a cup. Damp rag is just "soap without any downsides", which is kinda lame. I thought about going a step further and making it require you wet it first but then it just becomes "mop but small" which is also lame. Instead, you're required to clean it, which gives janitors / crewmembers an alternate cleaning method: - Soap: Small, finite, limited. Can't be replenished. - Cleaner: Small, finite, even more limited, ranged. Can be refilled with chemistry's help. - Mop: Large, infinite, limited. Needs a water bucket. - Damp Rag: Small, infinite, limited. Need to clean it after a few goes. 🆑 Melbert balance: Damp Rags can now get dirty when using them to clean blood, passing blood DNA along. add: Gauze now gets dirty when apply it to actively bleeding wounds. Doesn't spread disease or anything, just passes blood DNA. It can be cleaned in a sink. del: Removed cloth on sink / gauze on sink interaction to make rags. Just use the crafting menu /🆑 |

There will be (colorful) blood: datumizes bloodtypes, greyscales blood sprites, and fixes a lot of inconsistencies with gibs and forensic data (#90593)
## About The Pull Request This PR: - Converts all of the blood types into their own datums, which can be set up to have their own colors, descriptions, and other fun unique properties. For example, the clown blood that is constantly randomizing itself. - Converts all the blood decals into greyscale, which in turn eliminates the need for separate xeno sprites. They both use the same ones now. - Audit of blood splatters/gibs/bodyparts/organs to make sure that they are getting the correct forensic data applied to them. - For the admins: Adds a clown blood smite. My primary goal with was to make the appearance of the new sprites look almost indistinguishable to the original ones. I consider this a "first pass", as in there are still some further refactors I would like to do on the backend side, but am satisfied with it enough to push it forward as a first step towards a better blood system! I didn't want to do too much at once because of A) fatigue and B) easier to test things to make sure I'm not breaking something important this way. This has been test-merged on Nova for over a week now and has been going great, so I finally got around to upstreaming the bones to TG. Although I did test it a bit you may want to TM it just in case I missed some things when copying it over. |

Decals will fall downwards (#90772)
## About The Pull Request Decals which attempt to spawn on an openspace turf will drop to the level below until they hit a solid turf. Here I demonstrate it with an average spaceman activity, spraying flour aimlessly out of a spray bottle: ## Why It's Good For The Game The other day I watched a drunken miner flying around the upper levels of Catwalkstation and once he became blackout drunk his drunken personality decided to spin rapidly until he vomited. The vomit hovered in the air. This will not stand. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: You can now bleed or vomit onto people below you rather than creating puddles of substance hovering in mid-air. /🆑 |

You can now interact with held mobs beside wearing them (feat: "minor" melee attack chain cleanup) (#90080)
People can now pet held mothroaches and pugs if they want to, or use items on them, hopefully without causing many issues. After all, it only took about a couple dozen lines of code to make... ...Oh, did the 527 files changed or the 850~ lines added/removed perhaps catch your eye? Made you wonder if I accidentally pushed the wrong branch? or skewed something up big time? Well, nuh uh. I just happen to be fed up with the melee attack chain still using stringized params instead of an array/list. It was frankly revolting to see how I'd have had to otherwise call `list2params` for what I'm trying to accomplish here, and make this PR another tessera to the immense stupidity of our attack chain procs calling `params2list` over and over and over instead of just using that one call instance from `ClickOn` as an argument. It's 2025, honey, wake up! I also tried to replace some of those single letter vars/args but there are just way too many of them. Improving old code. And I want to be able to pet mobroaches while holding them too. 🆑 qol: You can now interact with held mobs in more ways beside wearing them. /🆑 |

Removes Corner Smoothing (Mild Bitmask Improvements) (#90002)
<!-- Write **BELOW** The Headers and **ABOVE** The comments else it may not be viewable. --> <!-- You can view Contributing.MD for a detailed description of the pull request process. --> ## About The Pull Request [Removes all remaining users of SMOOTH_CORNER + dirt automation](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/commit/71d120511a372501ac546b2571ef570eb4426a56) Removes all remaining instances of overlay smoothing (the deprecated system that stitches corners together IN ENGINE) from the game. This amounts to: The test smoothing wall, which I converted to just bitmask + diagonals Stationary canisters, which I've done the same to (alongside adding all the states to gags, which around doubled their gags count). These autocut now. I've also given dirt icons autocutting, for spriter convieneince (I would have done this before but I didn't know they smoothed) [Removes corner smoothing from the codebase](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/commit/98ebe5815223a3078c2e591fd277b9418ed03278) This code is OLD, and has been functionally deprecated for as long as I've been here. It basically does what bitmask smoothing does, but instead of prebaking connections they're formed in engine with overlays. This is... fine, and does TECHNICALLY allow for unique effects, but none's gonna use it because the details are so niche, so it just becomes a risk factor for someone fucking up and using overlays for some reason. What it does do then is clutter up our smoothing code with 2 different async systems, one of which functions SLIGHTLY differently from its brother. IMO it just works to confuse people trying to read smoothing code (already quite confusing). I've removed it, alongside its bespoke code/variables, excluding area_limited_icon_smoothing, a var on areas that prevents smoothing out of network, which I have instead integrated into bitmask smoothing. I've updated snowflake's documentation to be more up to date with modern systems, and earmarked where explanations/automation for the more... underdeveloped bits of smoothing should go in the future. ## Why It's Good For The Game I relapsed and needed something to put that energy towards. We don't really want people to use this, and none knows enough about it to take advantage of its theoretical uses. Really its only purpose right now is making understanding diagonal smoothing easier, and that's not all that hard of a task. Better to remove and integrate then to let rot and confuse. ## Changelog <!-- If your PR modifies aspects of the game that can be concretely observed by players or admins you should add a changelog. If your change does NOT meet this description, remove this section. Be sure to properly mark your PRs to prevent unnecessary GBP loss. You can read up on GBP and its effects on PRs in the tgstation guides for contributors. Please note that maintainers freely reserve the right to remove and add tags should they deem it appropriate. You can attempt to finagle the system all you want, but it's best to shoot for clear communication right off the bat. --> 🆑 add: Smoothed objects on shuttles now will only smooth with other shuttles (added support for extensions of this system) refactor: I've funked around with our smoothing system, cutting out some older code. Lemme know if anything is weird PLEASE /🆑 <!-- Both 🆑's are required for the changelog to work! You can put your name to the right of the first 🆑 if you want to overwrite your GitHub username as author ingame. --> <!-- You can use multiple of the same prefix (they're only used for the icon ingame) and delete the unneeded ones. Despite some of the tags, changelogs should generally represent how a player might be affected by the changes rather than a summary of the PR's contents. --> |

Fix various issues with names in string interpolation (#89246)
## About The Pull Request Commit messages should be descriptive of all changes. The "incorrect `\The` macro capitalization" was intentional when it was added, but as far as I know TG says "the supermatter" rather than "The Supermatter," so it's incorrect now. This is completely untested. I don't even know how you'd go about testing this, it's just a fuckton of strings. Someday I want to extract them and run NLP on it to catch grammar problems... ## Why It's Good For The Game Basic grammar pass for name strings. Should make `\the` work better and avoid cases like `the John Smith`. |

Fishing bluespace capsules (#87639)
## About The Pull Request With this PR, I'm introducing fishing bluespace capsules to the game. They can be found on the black market, but I'll get a couple more ways to get them before it's ready. Anyway, they're special bluespace capsules that spawn a fishing spot of your choice. The fishing spot can be changed by alt-clicking the capsule, and so far it has 5 choices, plus 2 locked behind emagging for obvious reasons: - Freshwater: pretty basic, you get freshwater fish from this. - Saltwater: mainly saltwater fish. - Tiziran: You get tiziran fish here, like the gunner jellyfish, armorfish, needlefish, dwarves moonfish and the new, bigger zagoskian moonfish. By the by, moonfish now periodically lay moonfish eggs, a staple of lizardfolk cuisine. - Ice fishing spot: A small ice turf with a hole dug in it; salmon, arctic char, arctic chrabs and the bonemass (skeleton fish). - Hot Spring: Somehow the new home to the ought-to-be-extinct sacabambaspis. It also doubles as a better shower overall, with mild healing on top of stamina recovery. Felinids still hate it though, and won't benefit from the healing. - Lava: A 2x2 square of pure lava. Requires an emag for obvious reasons. - Plasma: Ditto, but it's plasma instead of lava. As a sidenote, unlike standard shelter capsules, these require their area to be clear of pipes and cables on top of the other requirements, unless emagged. Obviously, I've done some changes to allow pipes and cables to not be hidden by water turfs, though I'm still keeping these reqs because I don't think these fishing spots would look great if riddled with cables and pipes. I may remove this extra req later if it proves to be a tad too tedious. Also they don't knock you back when expanding. Screenshot from a recent test (fixed the misplaced decal and tweaked a few things since then): ## Why It's Good For The Game The idea stems from how not all fishing spots aren't designed to be accessible every round, which is fine, because we have the fish-porter for that. However, even the fish-porter should have its limits in terms of what it can provide by itself (linking is all fair and game), so I've thought having something of a middle point would been neat, also as a way to mess around with the station layout a bit, to empower the player with a little extra "terraforming". ## Changelog 🆑 add: Added fishing bluespace capsules to the game, which can be used to spawn a variety of fishing spots, from freshwater to tiziran sea to hot springs, and also lava and plasma if emagged. add: Added two new fish: the zagoskian moonfish and the sacabambaspis. Moonfish will now periodically lay moonfish eggs. map: The 'crashed pod' lavaland ruin now has a hot spring, and the cursed hotspring on icemoon now has a plastic chair and a fishing toolbox. /🆑 |

The fishening v3: Fishing lures. (#86007)
## About The Pull Request Over half of the line changes are merely from splitting the fish_types.dm into several files since it was over 1k lines already. One of the small issues with fishing right now is RNG. You want to get some specific fish, and you go through all the micromanaging with hooks, reels and baits only for the random number god to say "nope", and that's only going to get worse the more fish are in the game. However, I've a solution: (unconsumable/reusable) fishing lures, each of which attracts different fish based on different conditions. The only caveat is that they require to be spun at set intervals (usually 1 to 3 seconds, depending on the lure, with a second-long window). Worry not, there're visual cues in the form of a green/red light hovering the fishing float, so you won't get screwed up by the server slowing down or whatever. The whole box of lures (12 so far) can be from cargo for the fair price of 450 credits. I've also added 5 new fish: monkfish, plaice, pike, another punnier variant of the pike, perch and squid. The latter is quite special because of the ink production trait, which lets players use it to blind others at a close range and when butchered, it yields an ink sac, which can be processed into a can of squid ink (one less item exclusive to the produce console), or thrown at people in a sort-of-similar fashion of banana cream pies (except it's ink). <details> <summary>Images</summary> Fishing lures (forgot to take my cursor off the veggie one before the screenshot): The five new fish: </details> <details> <summary>A table of fish catchable wth each lure (excluding holodeck)</summary> </details> A few more things in the CL, baitfish are a thing now. ## Why It's Good For The Game There should be ways to contrast some of the RNG fishing has. After all, it's only going to get more random the more fish are in the game. Furthermore, I find it disappointing that a lot of food stuff is exclusive to the ingredients console and there're no other ways to get it. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Added fishing lures to the game. They don't get used up like baits and let you catch specific kinds of fish, though they need to be spun every few seconds. The whole set can be ordered from cargo for 450 credits. balance: The magnet hook now removes dud chances. add: Added five new fish types: perch, two types of pike, monkfish, plaice and squid. Squids have a fairly special ink production trait, which lets you use them (unless dead) to ink people face at close range, and can be butchered for an ink sac, which can either be processed into canned squid ink, or thrown at someone. fix: Refactored throwing a little. Some items (specifically components/elements) won't be triggered when caught. no more plates shattering despite being caught for example. add: Goldfish, lavaloops, needlefish and armorfish can now be used as baits. /🆑 |

New maintenance hazard: Smokey Remains (#86016)
## About The Pull Request This implements a new rare maintenance spawn, smokey remains. Piles of bones that used to be Nanotrasen employees, still packed with whatever reagent finally did them in. Rarely replacing a crate spawn (7/1007 chance per crate spawn if I'm doing the math right), these act as landmines for uncareful travelers in maintenance. When you get too close, one will release a cloud of a randomly generated reagents into the air (the same reagent every time, unique to the instance of remains). You can (mostly) avoid this by walking instead of running. These will "re-arm" themselves after 4-6 minutes. They're decals, so you can just sweep them away if they're a problem. This also slightly tweaks the original iteration of this, which I used in my Smoking Room ruin. Don't worry about it. I'm open to adjusting the rarity, cooldown, and selection of reagents if need be. ## Why It's Good For The Game Makes maintenance a bit more spicy. Maybe dangerous, maybe beneficial, maybe it's baldium. Who knows! Better be careful just in case! There's plenty of boring chemicals that could roll, but an interesting one could be a nice injection of uniqueness into an otherwise dull round. It's an infinite supply, but can only be dispensed infrequently (at a fixed location) and would be extremely difficult to harvest. The rarity, combined with the variety of reagents that can be picked, make it unlikely that these will have any serious impact on a round (it's still possible, but rarely, which is good). ## Changelog 🆑 Rhials add: Smokey remains have appeared in maintenance. Make sure to walk when near them! /🆑 |

[MIRROR] Adds drawing chalk outlines on dead mobs, white crayons are now called sticks of chalk (#29449)
* Adds drawing chalk outlines on dead mobs, white crayons are now called sticks of chalk (#85918) ## About The Pull Request *The Miami Mutilator is at large once again. Thank god we have such hardboiled detectives as Manny Pardo on the case.* This pull request allows for players to use white crayons, which have now been renamed to sticks of chalk, to generate outlines of dead or "dead" bodies found throughout the station in an attempt to let detectives actually set up crime scenes as opposed to, more typically, just causing them. Players will attempt to draw a chalk outline if the target is a mob and the mob is dead (or fake-dead), using a single charge of the crayon/chalk. Also, adds a quick macro so that we can get the proper left/right orientation of the dead mob for reference. ## Why It's Good For The Game Detective should have more thematic, simple ways to organize crime scenes in-round, and what better way to do that then through existing items and mechanics that we already have. Also, I was 100% shocked to learn that these have always been white crayons as opposed to sticks of chalk, which certainly seems odd. In essence, this change doesn't really let you do anything "new", but just makes it easier and simpler to do so in a regular round without nearly as much fiddling. This mechanic exists exclusively within the afterattack of sticks of chalk as opposed to all crayons for thematic reasons, but I'm not 100% sold on that and it would be simple to move over to all crayons if people feel strongly about that. ## Changelog 🆑 add: White crayons (Renamed to Sticks of Chalk) may now be used on dead bodies to draw a body outline onto the ground easily. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: Zephyr <12817816+ZephyrTFA@ users.noreply.github.com> * Adds drawing chalk outlines on dead mobs, white crayons are now called sticks of chalk --------- Co-authored-by: ArcaneMusic <41715314+ArcaneMusic@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Zephyr <12817816+ZephyrTFA@ users.noreply.github.com> |

/Icon/ Folder cleansing crusade part, I think 4; post-wallening clean-up. (#85823)
Hello everybuddy, your number three rated coder-failure here to clean up some mess. This PR accomplishes some of the more major structural clean up changes I wanted to do with /obj/ folder, but decided to wait on until wallening gets merged, and so, time has come. Several things to still be done, although I know these cleaning PR's are quite a load, so will wait for this one to get done with first. ## Why It's Good For The Game Saner spriters, better sprites, less annoyance. Also deleted a whole load of redundancy this time around, a lot of sprites which existed simultaniously in two places now got exit their quantum superposition. |

Wallening [IDB IGNORE] [MDB IGNORE] (#85491)
## What's going on here Kept you waitin huh! This pr resprites most all walls, windows and other "wall adjacent" things to a 3/4th perspective, technical term is "tall" walls (we are very smart). If you're trying to understand the technical details here, much of the "rendering tech" is built off the idea of split-vis. Basically, split a sprite up and render it on adjacent turfs, to prevent seeing "through" walls/doors, and to support seeing "edges" without actually seeing the atom itself. Most of the rest of it is pipelining done to accommodate how icons are cut. ## Path To Merge Almost* all sprites and code is done at this point. There are some things missing both on and off the bounty list, but that will be the case forever unless we force upstream (you guys) to stop adding new shit that doesn't fit the style. I plan on accepting and integrating prs to the current working repo <https://github.com/wall-nerds/wallening> up until a merge, to make contribution simpler and allow things like bounties to close out more easily This pr is quite bulky, even stripping away map changes it's maybe 7000 LOC (We have a few maps that were modified with UpdatePaths, I am also tentatively pring our test map, for future use.) This may inhibit proper review, although that is part of why I am willing to make it despite my perfectionism. Apologies in advance. Due to the perspective shift, a lot of mapping work is going to need to be done at some point. This comes in varying levels of priority. Many wallmounts are offset by hand, some are stuck in the wall/basically cannot be placed on the east/west/north edges of walls (posters), some just don't look great good in their current position. Tests are currently a minor bit yorked, I thought it was more important to get this up then to clean them fully. ## What does it look like? ## Credits <details> <summary>Historical Mumbojumbo</summary> I am gonna do my best to document how this project came to be. I am operating off third party info and half remembered details, so if I'm wrong please yell at me. This project started sometime in late 2020, as a product of Rohesie trying to integrate and make easier work from Mojave Sun (A recently defunct fallout server) with /tg/. Mojave Sun (Apparently this was LITERALLY JUST infrared baron, that man is insane) was working with tall walls, IE walls that are 48px tall instead of the normal 32. This was I THINK done based off a technical prototype from aao7 proving A it was possible and B it didn't look like dogwater. This alongside oranges begging the art team for 3/4th walls (he meant TGMC style) lead to Rohesie bringing on contributors from general /tg/, including actionninja who would eventually take over as technical lead and Kryson, who would define /tg/'s version of the artstyle. Much of the formative aspects of this project are their work. The project was coming along pretty well for a few months, but ran into serious technical issues with `SIDE_MAP`, a byond map_format that allows for simpler 3/4th rendering. Due to BULLSHIT I will not detail here, the map format caused issues both at random with flickering and heavily with multiz. Concurrent with this, action stepped down after hacking out the rendering tech and starting work on an icon cutter that would allow for simpler icon generation, leaving ninjanomnom to manage the project. Some time passed, and the project stalled out due to the technical issues. Eventually I built a test case for the issues we had with `SIDE_MAP` and convinced lummox jr (byond's developer) to explain how the fuckin thing actually worked. This understanding made the project theoretically possible, but did not resolve the problems with multi-z. Resolving those required a full rework of how rendering like, worked. I (alongside tattle) took over project development from ninjanomnom at this time, and started work on Plane Cube (#69115), which when finished would finally make the project technically feasible. The time between then and now has been slow, progressive work. Many many artists and technical folks have dumped their time into this (as you can see from the credits). I will get into this more below but I would like to explicitly thank (in no particular order) tattle, draco, arcanemusic, actionninja, imaginos, viro and kylerace for keeping the project alive in this time period. I would have curled up into a ball and died if I had to do this all myself, your help has been indispensable. </details> <details> <summary>Detailed Credits</summary> Deep apologies if I have forgotten someone (I am sure I have, if someone is you please contact me). I've done my best to collate from the git log/my memory. I know you think you didn't do much but your presence and work have been a great help Thunder12345: Came out of nowhere and just so much of the random bounties, I'm kind of upset about how much we paid him Time-Green: I hooked him in by fucking with stuff he made and now he's just doin shit, thanks for helping out man! Twaticus: Provided artistic feedback and authority for my poor feeble coder brain, believed in the project for YEARS, was a constant source of ❤️ and affirmation unit0016: I have no god damn idea who she is, popped out of nowhere on the github one day and dealt with a bunch of annoying rendering/refactoring. Godspeed random furry thank you for all your effort and issue reports Viro: A bunch of detailed spriting moving towards 3/4ths, both on and off the wallening fork. If anyone believed this project would be done, it was viro Wallem: Artistic review and consultation, was my go-to guy for a long time when the other two spritetainers were inactive Waltermeldon: Cracked out a bunch of rendering work, he's the reason windows look like not dogwater. Alongside floyd and action spent a TON of time speaking to lummox/unearthing how byond rendering worked trying to make this thing happen ZephyrTFA: Added directional airlock helpers, dealt with a big fuckin bugaboo that was living in my brain like it was nothing. Love you brother And finally: The Mojave Sun development team. They provided a testbed for the idea, committed hundreds and hundreds of hours to the artstyle, and were a large reason we caught issues early enough to meaningfully deal with them. Your work is a testament to what longterm effort and deep detailed care produce. I hope you're doing well whatever you're up to. Go out with a bang! </details> ## Changelog 🆑 Raccoff, aa07, ActionNinja, ArcaneMusic, Armhulen, Azlan, Ben10Omintrix, BigBimmer, Capsandi, CapybaraExtravagante, Draco, Floyd, Iamgoofball, Imaginos16, Infrared, Jacquerel, Justice12354, Kryson, KylerAce, LemonInTheDark, Meyhazah, Mothblocks, MTandi, Ninjanomnom, oranges, Rohesie, Runi-c, san7890, Senefi, SimplyLogan, SomeAngryMiner, SpaceSmithers, Tattle, Thunder12345, Time-Green, Twaticus, unit0016, Viro, Waltermeldon, ZephyrTFA with thanks to the Mojave Sun team! add: Resprites or offsets almost all "tall" objects in the game to match a 3/4ths perspective add: Bunch of rendering mumbo jumbo to make said 3/4ths perspective work /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: Jacquerel <hnevard@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: san7890 <the@san7890.com> Co-authored-by: = <stewartareid@outlook.com> Co-authored-by: Capsandi <dansullycc@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: ArcaneMusic <hero12290@aol.com> Co-authored-by: tattle <66640614+dragomagol@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: SomeAngryMiner <53237389+SomeAngryMiner@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: KylerAce <kylerlumpkin1@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: ArcaneMusic <41715314+ArcaneMusic@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Time-Green <7501474+Time-Green@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: lessthanthree <83487515+lessthnthree@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Ben10Omintrix <138636438+Ben10Omintrix@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Runi-c <5150427+Runi-c@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Roryl-c <5150427+Roryl-c@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: tattle <article.disaster@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Senefi <20830349+Peliex@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Justice <42555530+Justice12354@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: BluBerry016 <50649185+unit0016@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: SmArtKar <44720187+SmArtKar@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: MrMelbert <51863163+MrMelbert@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: SimplyLogan <47579821+loganuk@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Emmett Gaines <ninjanomnom@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Rob Bailey <github@criticalaction.net> Co-authored-by: MMMiracles <lolaccount1@hotmail.com> |

[MIRROR] Donk Co Interstellar Trading Post 6016 (#29007)
* Donk Co Interstellar Trading Post 6016 (#83075) ## About The Pull Request Adds a new space ruin to the pool. It's the haunted trading post. It is a whiteship dock with a large (safe) common area. The back rooms contain loot and danger. Here are a few 'teaser' images. https://i.imgur.com/M1te9Ha.png https://i.imgur.com/SF3bJ62.png https://i.imgur.com/i9xeUFP.png https://i.imgur.com/UBwpJAM.png Notable treasures: Cash, Donk Co merch, Donk Co guns, Donk Co Donk Pockets, Donk Co vendors, Donk Co ID Cards, and the Donk Co Secret Recipe. Oh yeah the secret documents teach you how to make three prototype variants of Donk Pockets. There is no limit to the amount of times it can be read, so if you want to corner the market remember to lock up the documents. Or you can share them with your friends. **Now COMPLETE!** ## Why It's Good For The Game This ruin is a multi-room dungeon with multiple solutions to each room. It has plenty of action from mobs, traps and hazards. Each room has some form of treasure or unique item in it. There's a boss at the end with great rewards for fighting it, including a cool gun (slightly worse variant of laser carbine). This ruin is also a whiteship dock and space base. The public area is entirely safe: stick to the well lit sector and don't trespass in the employees only areas and you won't be harmed. There is a variety of vendors to resupply at (including a brand new Donk Co snack vendor) but unlike most other space ruins you do have to pay. A whiteship can dock at this ruin if you have one, so you can bring groups of people to party or attack the dungeon together. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Adds the Haunted Trading Post space ruin. add: Adds 10+ unique items for the Haunted Trading Post add: Adds 5 dangerous mobs for the Haunted Trading Post add: Adds 4 new types of hazardous traps for the Haunted Trading Post. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: Afevis <ShizCalev@ users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Ghom <42542238+Ghommie@ users.noreply.github.com> * Donk Co Interstellar Trading Post 6016 * [MIRROR] Donk Co Interstellar Trading Post 6016 [MDB IGNORE] (#3943) * Donk Co Interstellar Trading Post 6016 * i'd rather a pepsi --------- Co-authored-by: Da Cool Boss <142358580+DaCoolBoss@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Fluffles <piecopresident@gmail.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Da Cool Boss <142358580+DaCoolBoss@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Afevis <ShizCalev@ users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Ghom <42542238+Ghommie@ users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: SpaceLoveSs13 <68121607+SpaceLoveSs13@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: NovaBot <154629622+NovaBot13@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Fluffles <piecopresident@gmail.com> |

[MIRROR] Flattens The Floor Plane (Camera Update Too) (#28632)
* Flattens The Floor Plane (Camera Update Too) (#84350) ## About The Pull Request Ok so like, side map right? It makes things higher up in the world render above things lower down in the world. Most of the time this is what we want, but it is NOT what we want for floors. Floors are allowed to be larger then 32x32, and if they are we want them to render based off JUST their layer. If we don't allow this grass turfs and others get cut off on their bottom edge, which looks WEIRD. In order to make this happen, we can add TOPDOWN_LAYER to every layer on the floor plane and disable sidemap. I've added documentation for this to VISUALS.md, and have also implemented unit test errors to prevent mixing TOPDOWN layers with non topdown planes (or vis versa). This new test adds ~1 second to tests, which is I think a perfectly scrumpulent number. EDIT: I nerd sniped myself and implemented sidemap layering and lighting for cameras (also larger then 32x32 icon support for getflat) The lighting isn't perfect, we don't handle things displaying in the void all that well (I am convinced getflat blending is broken but I have no debugger so I can't fix it properly), but it'll do. This came up cause I had to fix another layering issue in cameras and thought I might as well go all in. ## Why It's Good For The Game Old: New: ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Grass turfs will render properly now. Reworked how floors render, please report any bugs! fix: Cameras now properly capture lighting fix: The layering seen in photos should better match the actual game /🆑 * Flattens The Floor Plane (Camera Update Too) * modular things * Update fluff.dm --------- Co-authored-by: LemonInTheDark <58055496+LemonInTheDark@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: SpaceLoveSs13 <68121607+SpaceLoveSs13@users.noreply.github.com> |
