John Willard aa4dc56835 Removes Station-time (more time changes) (#95744)
## About The Pull Request

Removes Station-Time entirely
Server Time is now NST (Nanotrasen Standard Time). SS13 takes place
exactly 540 years in the future of the current day, so every second is 1
second in-game.
Round Time is now PT (Pay-Time), how Nanotrasen keeps track of how long
the current rotation of Employees has been working for.

Telecomms uses NST due to its importance of being the communication to
the blackbox.

Autopsy report, clocks, scientific reports and requisitions use both
timestamps due to them being more official documents that NT may need to
know beyond just the current round (just for flavortext).

Pretty much everything else (Det scanner, PDA, IC logs, Time-of-Death,
AI law changes, Cyborg file downloading) uses PT

# Other changes

1. Circuit time checker will now get the value of the given input (Hour,
Minute, Second) rather than the full dedisecond time converted into
hour/minutes/seconds

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/097440cc-1c45-447f-9976-18de7f9c722c"
/>

2. Turns nightshift into a round event that'll last approximately 22
minutes
3. 12-hour pref (doesn't apply to the stat panel because it's global
info) & removal of "TCT" time

<img width="569" height="440" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d39083b1-d248-41c0-9a1c-b2398ca203a7"
/>

4. The chocolate pudding negative moodlet is now based on the server's
IRL time.
5. Admins can now use ``class``, ``style`` and ``background`` (they were
already given perms to use ``img`` so hiding background, which was
removed to prevent image embedding, is pointless)
6. Also fixes ``year`` being off on localhost.

## Why It's Good For The Game

Server Time is approximately 1s = 12s converted, not including it
desyncing from lag (I believe?).
This makes it pretty much impossible for people to actually use this as
a unit of measurement for in-game actions.
Different things also uses different timestamps which is a bit more
confusing.

The main change here is for accessibility and, hopefully, using time as
a source of immersion. "20 minutes ago" is no longer OOC, they're just
speaking in PT. There's no timezones in space, Nanotrasen Standard Time
is the closest there is, but Pay Time is how NT considers when you get
your paychecks, so it's what is more commonly used.

It also fixes major inconsistencies between "IC time" and "Station
time", things like breakfast moodlet was the first 15mins of the round
despite the round starting like 7 hours in? Nukies with an L6 SAW firing
down the halls was shooting like 1 bullet every 3 seconds (assuming 4
bullets per second), overall there was just a disconnect between how
long time actually is in the universe.

The secondary reason for this change (though it is what pushed me to
actually get around to making this change) is the greater stat-panel
removal. This hopes to lessen the dependence on the stat panel for
station-time by making it easier to understand, and the end-goal I have
is for this information to be limited to Admins & the AI (AI will get
the IC version with the accurate year), so until that happens I would
like to improve the use of station-time by making it consistent (for
example, you should only care for PT for IC, which is also what your PDA
displays), so that when it gets removed it won't leave players timeless.

If you haven't already, and is interested in helping remove the stat
panel, every entry that needs to be removed can be found here -

Closes https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/issues/94988

## Changelog

🆑
del: Removed Station Time, now we use NST (Nanotrasen Standard Time),
which is IRL server time +540 years, and PT (Pay Time), the amount of
time since the round has started.
del: Station nightshift is now a Station event rather than being based
on Server time.
balance: Time circuit's Unit of Measure now tells the amount of time in
hour/minute/seconds rather than giving the whole time translated to
hours/minutes/seconds.
qol: Added a 12-hour clock pref for people who prefer it.
qol: Hovering over NST timestamps on official documents will now
translate how much it is in PT/Shift Time.
admin: Admins can now use style/class/background in their papercode.

SmArtKar f58b8511f0 Refactors effect_system (#94999)
## About The Pull Request

This PR refactors ``effect_system``s to be a bit easier to use by
getting rid of ``set_up``, allowing ``attach()`` to be chained into
``start()`` and refactoring most direct system usages in our code to use
helper procs.

``set_up`` was unnecessary and only existed to allow ``New``'s behavior
to be fully overriden, which is not required if we split
sparks/lightning/steam into a new ``/datum/effect_system/basic`` subtype
which houses the effect spreading behavior. This allows us to roll all
logic from ``set_up`` into ``New`` and cut down on code complexity.
Chaining setup as ``system.attach(src).start()`` also helps a bit in
case no helper method exists

I've added ``do_chem_smoke`` and ``do_foam`` helpers, which respectively
allow chemical smoke or foam to be spawned easily without having to
manually create effect datums and reagent holders.

Also turns out we've had some nonfunctional effect systems which either
never set themselves up, or never started, so I fixed those while I was
at it (mostly by moving them to aforementioned helper procs)

## Why It's Good For The Game

Cleaner code, makes it significantly easier for users to work with. Also
most of our effect system usage was copypasta which was passing booleans
as numbers, while perfectly fine helper procs existed in our code.

## Changelog

systems.

Ghom 0b0c5ea91e Unit test material checks are now performed on all crafting recipes by default. All stack recipes now transfer mats to the results (#92620)
## About The Pull Request
Extends the part of the crafting unit test that ensures consistency
between the total mats of the components of a recipe (or rather, the
result of said recipe) and a generic instance of the same type as its
result, previously only implemented on food recipes.

## Why It's Good For The Game
This ensures a degree of consistency with the material composition of
various objects in the game. I couldn't do it in the original PR as that
one was too big already and it took months to get it merged, and have
the relative bugs fixed.

Currently a WIP as I slowly deal with the unit test reports.

## Changelog

🆑
refactor: Follow-up to the crafting/material refactor from months ago.
All objects crafted with stacks now inherit their mat composition (not
necessarily the effects and color) by default, while previously only a
few things like chair, sinks and toilets did. Report any object looking
or behaving weirdly as a result.
fix: The material composition of ammo boxes is no longer a 1/10 of what
it's supposed to be. It was a shitty hack to make it harder to recycle
empty ammo boxes. Instead, they lose materials as they're emptied now.

1. Splits `TRAIT_UNKNOWN` into `TRAIT_UNKNOWN_APPEARANCE` and
`TRAIT_UNKNOWN_VOICE`

2. Renames some stuff like `getvoice` and `getspecialvoice`

MrMelbert 5261efb67f Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
## About The Pull Request

Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it,
`attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the
resulting attack

This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more
definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not
unarmed attacks.

This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer
hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight
into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons
don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for
swing combat).

## Changelog

Makes pill bottle code cleaner
- Datumized some more storage values(monkey guncase toolbox & crafter
toolbox) making their init slightly faster
- Moved all standard storage subtypes(bags, boxes, lockboxes etc) that
is scattered across various files & folders in the codebase into their
respective files under `code/game/objects/item/storage` folder.
This means for e.g. if you want to see all boxes in the game you can
find them in `code/game/objects/item/storage/boxes` folder & don't have
to go looking for hidden subtypes in various module files or folders
where they were hidden away.

_0Steven 886cf157bc Allow for placing certain items directly on the floor, with precision (#90805)
## About The Pull Request

So I really wanted to do the stereotypical "really I'm just a
construction worker" break-in bit, but then quickly realized you can't
even place warning cones on the floor! You have to awkwardly drop them,
or put them on a table and move them off!
Thinking about that, I remembered my similar annoyance with candles for
rituals or wet floor signs when playing a janitor.

Initially this was intended to include the ability to stack warning
cones for easy storage and placement, but I realized that was taking a
_lot_ more time than making the other items placeable on the floor.
Because of this, I decided to atomize the much less complex part off
into this pr.

So here, in this pr, we add a simple element
`/datum/element/floor_placeable` and apply it to a list of items for
which I think "placing it on the floor" makes enough sense as an
interaction.

As a side to this, we add the plastic pickup/drop noises to wet floor
signs and warning cones, because they're made of plastic and it's
leagues better than being entirely inaudible.
We remove `var/cooldown = 0` from `/obj/item/toy/cattoy` because it
wasn't used.
## Why It's Good For The Game

Can't do the stereotypical hazard vest break-in in _style_ without the
ability to actually place the cones:

you don't have to place candles on tables and drag them off for it to
work:

Ghom 339616ae78 You can now interact with held mobs beside wearing them (feat: "minor" melee attack chain cleanup) (#90080)
## About The Pull Request
People can now pet held mothroaches and pugs if they want to, or use
items on them, hopefully without causing many issues. After all, it only
took about a couple dozen lines of code to make...

...Oh, did the 527 files changed or the 850~ lines added/removed perhaps
catch your eye? Made you wonder if I accidentally pushed the wrong
branch? or skewed something up big time? Well, nuh uh. I just happen to
be fed up with the melee attack chain still using stringized params
instead of an array/list. It was frankly revolting to see how I'd have
had to otherwise call `list2params` for what I'm trying to accomplish
here, and make this PR another tessera to the immense stupidity of our
attack chain procs calling `params2list` over and over and over instead
of just using that one call instance from `ClickOn` as an argument. It's
2025, honey, wake up!

I also tried to replace some of those single letter vars/args but there
are just way too many of them.

SmArtKar 6b83a91956 Revert "Refactor for storage initialization & organization (#89543)" (#90332)
## About The Pull Request

Reverts the storage initialization refactor and all subsequent related
PRs.
The original PR is below our standards both for code quality and
testing, and is majorly flawed at its core. This has been discussed with
other maintainers and headcoder(s?) over on discord. A lot of changes
from the PR could be brought over later, but in its current state it
should not have been merged.

- Closes #90322
- Closes #90313
- Closes #90315
- Closes #90320
- Closes #90312
- Closes #90344

## Why It's Good For The Game

This PR causes a series of major issues which cannot be resolved without
either completely rewriting a lot of the original PR, or bad code.
Not matching our standards is grounds for not merging a PR, and the fact
that a PR should not have been merged is a reason for a revert.

SyncIt21 0f57a23830 Refactor for storage initialization & organization (#89543)
## About The Pull Request
A Huge chunk of changes just comes from moving existing storage code
into new files & seperating `atom_storage` code into its own subtype
under the already existing `storage/subtypes` folder.

With that the changes in this PR can be organized into 3 categories.

**1. Refactors how `/obj/item/storage/PopulateContents()` initializes
storages**
- Fixes #88747 and every other storage item that has a similar variant
of this problem

The problem with `PopulateContents()` is that it allows you to create
atoms directly inside the storage via `new(src)` thus bypassing all the
access restrictions enforced by `/datum/storage/can_insert()` resulting
in storages holding stuff they shouldn't be able to hold.

Now how this proc works has been changed. It must now only return a list
of items(each item in the list can either be a typepath or a solid atom
or a mix of them in any order) that should be inserted into the storage.
Each item is then passed into `can_insert()` to check if it can fit in
the storage.

If your list contains solid atoms they must be first moved
to/Initialized in nullspace so `can_insert()` won't count it as already
inserted. `can_insert()` has now also been refactored to throw stack
traces but explaining exactly why the item could not fit in the storage
thus giving you more debugging details to fix your stuff.

A large majority of changes is refactoring `PopulateContents()` to
return a list instead of simply creating the item in place so simple 1
line changes & with that we have fixed all broken storages(medical
toolbox. electrical toolbox, cruisader armor boxes & many more) that
hold more items they can handle

**2. Organizes initialization of `atom_storage` for storage subtypes.**
All subtypes of `/obj/item/storage` should(not enforced) create their
own `/datum/storage/` subtype under the folder `storage/subtypes` if the
default values are not sufficient. This is the 2nd change done across
all existing storages

Not only does this bring code cleanliness & organization (separating
storage code from item code like how `/datum/wire` code is separated
into its own sub folder) but it also makes storage initialization
slightly faster (because you are not modifying default values after
`atom_storage` is initialized but you are directly setting the default
value in place).

You now cannot & should not modify `atom_storage` values inside
`PopulateContents()`. This will make that proc as pure as possible so
less side effects. Of course this principle is not enforced and you can
still modify the storage value after `Initialize()` but this should not
be encouraged in the future

**3. Adds support for automatic storage computations**
Most people don't understand how `atom_storage` values work. The comment
here clearly states that

https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/55bbfef0da70d87455ca8d6fd5c95107eb8dbefb/code/game/objects/items/storage/toolbox.dm#L327-L329
Because of that the linked issue occurs not just for medical toolbox but
for a lot of other items as well.

Which is why if you do not know what you doing, `PopulateContents()` now
comes with a new storage parameter i.e. `/datum/storage_config`

This datum allows you to compute storage values that will perfectly fit
with the initial contents of your storage. It allows you to do stuff
like computing `max_slots`, `max_item_weight`, `max_total_weight` etc
based on your storage initial contents so that all the contents can fit
perfectly leaving no space for excess.

MrMelbert ffd97819c1 Pixel adjustments to mobs are now sourced / Refactors riding (#89320)
## About The Pull Request

Fixes #85980

- Pixel adjustments are now sourced

When tweaking a mob's pixel w, x, y, z, is is now done via `add_offsets`
and must have a source string associated

- Refactors riding

Refactors how riding component selects the offsets to use. It's now all
done via the getter rather than a weird mix of a var, a cache, and a
getter.

- Moves a bunch of animations to use `pixel_w` / `pixel_z`

Largely to prevent conflicts with adjustments to a mob's pixel position,
but also as many animations are not actual movements, but visual
movements. Floating is one such example.

## Why It's Good For The Game

It just works

SmArtKar 7ddc30783a Adds better attack animations and alternate attack modes (#88418)
## About The Pull Request

This is the first PR in a series attempting to modernize our damage and
armor, both from a code and a gameplay perspective. This part implements
unique attack animations, adds alternate attack modes for items and
fixes some minor oversights.

Items now have unique attack animation based on their sharpness - sharp
items are now swung in an arc, while pointy items are thrust forward.
This change is ***purely visual***, this is not swing combat. (However,
this does assign icon rotation data to many items, which should help
swing combat later down the line).

Certain items like knives and swords now have secondary attacks - right
clicks will perform stabbing attacks instead of slashing for a chance to
leave piercing wounds, albeit with slightly lower damage - trying to
stick a katana through someone won't get you very far!

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1f92bbcd-9aa1-482f-bc26-5e84fe2a07e1

Turns out that spears acted as oversized knives this entire time, being
SHARP_EDGED instead of SHARP_POINTY - in order for their animations to
make sense, they're now once again pointy (according to comment,
originally they were made sharp because piercing wounds weren't very
threatening, which is no longer the case)

Another major change is that structure damage is now influenced by armor
penetration - I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but attacking
item's AP never applied to non-mob damage.

Additionally, also fixes an issue where attack verbs for you and
everyone else may differ.

## About The Pull Request
The dark matter singularity and its toy have long quotes in the examine

san7890 a4328ae1f9 Audits tgui_input_text() for length issues (#86741)
Fixes #86784

## About The Pull Request

Although some of the issues found were a direct result from #86692
(c698196766), there was still 40% of
length-related issues that wouldn't be covered anyways that are fixed in
this PR. I.E.:

* Name inputs without `MAX_NAME_LEN`
* Desc inputs without `MAX_DESC_LEN`
* Plaque inputs without `MAX_PLAQUE_LEN`
* Some people just screwed up the arguments so it would prefill
something like "40" in the `default` var because they didn't name their
vars.

To help me audit I added a lot of `max_length` named arguments to help
people understand it better. I think it might be kinder to have a
wrapper that handles adding `MAX_MESSAGE_LEN` in a lot of these cases
but I think there is some reason for a coder to be cognitive about input
texts? Let me know what you think. I didn't update anything
admin-related from what I can recall, let me know if anything needs to
be unlimited again.
## Why It's Good For The Game

The change to `INFINITY` notwithstanding, there were still an abundance
of issues that we needed to check up on. A lot of these are filtered on
down the line but it is clear that there needs to be something to catch
these issues. Maybe we could lint to make `max_length` a mandatory
argument? I don't know if that's necessary at all but I think that the
limit should be set by the invoker due to the wide arrangement of cases
that this proc could be used in.

This could all be a big nothingburger if the aforementioned PR is
reverted but a big chunk of cases fixed in this PR need to be fixed
regardless of that since people could put in 1024 character names for
stuff like guardians (or more now with the change). Consider this
"revert agnostic".

Joshua Kidder 240e397b95 Fixes xenos being able to pick up items that they shouldn't by most means, expands itempicky component functionality (#86714)
## About The Pull Request

Xenos can apparently use shenanigans such as
https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/issues/86703 to put some items in
their hand, and there are likely methods like this dotted around the
codebase. However, the signal to put something in their hand is called
consistently across any process that would cause them to pick up or
otherwise have something to put in their hand, so instead I added
/datum/component/itempicky to xenos.

While I was in there, I expanded the functionality of itempicky; it can
run a callback to determine a condition that needs to be met now.

MrMelbert ff6b41aa07 Afterattack is dead, long live Afterattack (#83818)
## About The Pull Request

- Afterattack is a very simple proc now: All it does is this, and all
it's used for is for having a convenient place to put effects an item
does after a successful attack (IE, the attack was not blocked)

![image](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/51863163/1e70f7be-0990-4827-a60a-0c9dd0e0ee49)

- An overwhelming majority of afterattack implementations have been
moved to `interact_with_atom` or the new `ranged_interact_with_atom`

I have manually tested many of the refactored procs but there was 200+
so it's kinda hard

## Why It's Good For The Game

Afterattack is one of the worst parts of the attack chain, as it
simultaneously serves as a way of doing random interactions NOT AT ALL
related to attacks (despite the name) while ALSO serving as the defacto
way to do a ranged interaction with an item

This means careless coders (most of them) may throw stuff in afterattack
without realizing how wide reaching it is, which causes bugs. By making
two well defined, separate procs for handing adjacent vs ranged
interactions, it becomes WAY WAY WAY more easy to develop for.

If you want to do something when you click on something else and you're
adjacent, use `interact_with_atom`
If you want to do something when you click on something else and you're
not adjacent, use 'ranged_interact_with_atom`

This does result in some instances of boilerplate as shown here:

![image](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/51863163/a7e469dd-115e-4e5b-88e0-0c664619c878)

But I think it's acceptable, feel free to oppose if you don't I'm sure
we can think of another solution

~~Additionally it makes it easier to implement swing combat. That's a
bonus I guess~~

refactor: Item-On-Modsuit interactions have changed slightly. While on
combat mode, you will attempt to "use" the item on the suit instead of
inserting it into the suit's storage. This means being on combat mode
while the suit's panel is open will block you from inserting items
entirely via click (but other methods such as hotkey, clicking on the
storage boxes, and mousedrop will still work).

YesterdaysPromise 71a1fee2f1 Explodes device.dmi (#80025)
## About The Pull Request

I woke up today and thought 'what would be easy thing to do today so I
can say I've done something?'. Then I remembered I saw several gangtool
usages the time I split radio up, and I could remedy those. 7 hours
later, device.dmi is split in a folder of its own, and I've also given
unique sprites to door remotes and landing desginators.

## Why It's Good For The Game

MrMelbert 1e76fd70b4 Attack chain refactoring: Broadening tool_act into item_interact, moving some item interactions to... atom/item_interact / item/interact_with_atom (#79968)
## About The Pull Request

Implements half of this (with some minor changes):

![image](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/51863163/bf5cc4bb-5a1f-42e3-921d-9a57bc6096cc)

The ultimate goal of this is to split our attack chain in two:
- One for non-combat item interactions
  - Health analyzer scanning
  - using tools on stuff
  - surgery
  - Niche other interactions
- One for combat attacking
  - Item hit thing, item deal damage.
  - Special effects on attack would go here.

This PR begins this by broadining tool act into item interact.

Item interact is a catch-all proc ran at the beginning of attack chain,
before `pre_attack` and such, that handles the first part of the chain.

This allows us to easily catch item interaction and cancel the attack
part of the chain by using deliberate bitflag return values, rather than
`TRUE` / `FALSE`*.

*Because right now, `TRUE` = `cancel attack`, no matter what, which is
unclear to people.

Instead of moving as much as possible to the new proc in this PR, I
started by doing some easy, obvious things. More things can be moved in
the future, or technically they don't even need to move in a lot of
cases.

san7890 7f7688b60a Demotes the "electrical conductivity" flag from flags_1 to obj_flags (#80033)
## About The Pull Request

Code to handle this flag only ever existed on the `/obj` sublevel, so
there's no need for it to be on the `/atom` level `flags_1`. There was
probably a point in time in which mobs or turfs conducted electricity
but there's zero code for it anymore so we truly just live in a society
now.
## Why It's Good For The Game

Frees up a slot on `flags_1` (which is really nice actually), proper
scoping of certain bitflag stuff, etc.
## Changelog
Not relevant to players.

I may have screwed something up, will be doing a few passes on this
myself to ensure all the search and replaces went alright but we should

san7890 a7060641bb Converts vomit() to use bitflags (#78191)
## About The Pull Request

Having seven trillion boolean arguments isn't kino nor poggerchampion,
let's adjust it so we use a define flag-based system that works really
nice. I also cleaned up a lot of jank and stuff that simply just never
was meant to work.

We also had sprites for nanite vomit, but this was completely unused!
Since we still have an interaction where you're meant to throw up
nanites, I added that it so it could be leveraged. Neato.
## Why It's Good For The Game

Much easier to pass in the right args or special args to a high-profile
proc.

John Willard ef352ca731 minor changes to living and mob vars (#77820)
## About The Pull Request

Renames m_intent to move_intent and moves it to the living level
renames tod to station_timestamp_timeofdeath
removes stun_absorption and see_override as one was unused and the other
was never actually implemented

## Why It's Good For The Game

Many vars on the mob and living level were intended to be on the living
and carbon level, but weren't for one reason or another. Generally it
was out of laziness to ensure the mobs being checked for these vars were
the intended mobs, and there's some todo comments on how they want it
changed in the future, though it never happened.
I'm hoping to get these all down in the future, I originally wanted to
move ``stat`` from mob to living but it had hundreds of errors so I
didn't want to do it all here.

## Changelog

Nothing player-facing.

nikothedude ccf547c142 Adds an extra malf AI ability: Remote emagging. Also tidies up emag code and coverts a lot of things to balloon alerts (#76669)
## About The Pull Request

New malf AI upgrade

Remote safety overrides: Mid-cost, Mid-supply. Allows the AI to remotely
emag things it can see and can access.
1. Very useful for psychological warfare (Emagging APCs to throw the
crew off their trail)
2. Logically makes sense - why, of all things, can the AI not emag
anything when it's fundumentally integrated with the station's
electronics?
3. Generally speaking can only access things that make sense for it to
access - it cannot emag ethereals, sadly

In order for this to work, emag_act now returns a boolean, designating
if the emag had any effect.
While I was in there, I also added args to every single emag_act I could
find and added far more feedback/converted a lot of things to balloon
alerts to allow the AI to see if its emag had any effect.
## Why It's Good For The Game

It just makes sense that the AI, the most electronically-sensitive
entity in the game, would be able to emag things. Plus, more options
given to malf that aren't strictly MURDER KILL MURDER are always a plus,
especially if they allow for fancier plays.
## Changelog

remotely emag things it has access to.
code: emag_act() now returns a boolean designating it's success in

code: All instances of emag_act() now have the proper arguments
qol: Most usecases of emagging now have some kind of feedback, and
existing feedback has been sanity checked and converted to balloon
alerts.

Ghom 6b007f758b Replaces ammo_casing/caseless and bullet/reusable with elements. (#76335)
The reusable and caseless types only purposes are the behaviors of
deleting the casing when fired and spawning a new object when the
projectile ultimately reaches its maximum range or hits a target, both
of which are easily "elementizable". Also, I don't like those barely
filled sub-folders in the projectile module, and the fact we've
divergent reusable and single use arrow types.
