MrMelbert 45b23412f8 [MDB Ignore] Medical larp: Adds the SDSM-35 (an in game brain trauma reference) (#94761)
## About The Pull Request

Medbay, the CMO, the Psychologist, (possibly) the Library, and some
maint rooms across all maps now have multiple copies of the SDSM-35

This exists as an in game ability to reference what brain traumas do. No
special bells or whistles, not even a search bar - it's a book after
all.

<img width="819" height="589" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/ace867b9-a0f0-4302-99f9-46ed4d6fe377"

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/c96941d3-8da8-48f7-859b-93953fe01473"
/>

## Why It's Good For The Game

De-wikification: Rather than needing to pull up the wiki to figure out
what the brain trauma is doing, you can refer to the in game book and
cross reference the patient's behavior.

Medial larp: It's a reference to the DSM-5. If that wasn't obvious.

## Changelog

🆑 Melbert
add: You can now find the SDMS-35 in Medbay, the CMO's office, the
Psychologist's office, and possibly the Library. Quite simply, it's a
reference book for all the brain trauma's you may experience.

Tad Hardesty ddc7bfa4c4 Use evil CSS tricks to fix wiki books looking awful (#94738)
## About The Pull Request

The [MediaWiki "printable" version of pages][p] was at some point
deprecated in favor of standard print stylesheets, making wiki books
look rather ugly, even uglier than if they weren't using the parameter.
However, there seems to be no way to command an iframe to opt in to or
simulate the print stylesheet. What we really want is to suppress the
sidebar and header. Therefore: position the iframe off of the page to
the left and top by the size of the elements we want to hide.

Hiding the left sidebar seems fully clean. However, hiding the top
header also hides the first bit of the scrollbar, which is a little
odd-looking.

Also, fix wiki books not giving book nerd moodlets.

_0Steven 3804b5fe43 Refactors book attackby into item interaction procs, adding screentips, minor qol (#91273)
## About The Pull Request

This mostly just refactors the book `attackby(...)` proc into
`item_interaction(...)`, with some side-effects and screentips.
Notable ones follow here:

We move carving away from combat mode, and instead based it on whether
our tool is a pure writing utensil, a pure carving tool, or both at once
like the captain's fountain pen. If it's a pure tool, both left click
and right click are its respective primary action. If it's both,
however, left click is vandalizing and right click is carving.
This tries to ensure the expected primary interaction is always
left-click, without blocking anything if it could do both.

We move the barcode scanner interaction to the barcode scanner instead.
There's no good reason for this to stay on the book itself.

We add `can_vandalize(...)` as a proc and move all checks in there, so
we can call it after every tgui input. We don't replace the
`to_chat(...)` calls here with balloon alerts because the additional
clarifying info is needed, and it keeps the 'soulful' blind message.

We add `get_attack_self_context(...)` as a proc for getting screentips
on hovering over it in your active hand, because both the bible subtype
and the syndicate bible _bible subtype_ want different screentips there
in different situations, and so while it's clunky it's much less clunky
than the alternatives I considered.

Making it use actual storage datums avoids subtypes needing to make
manual changes to it in the `carve_out(...)` proc, and is just good for
organization.

This doesn't add screentips to most bible-specific interactions, as I
deemed them outside of the scope of this pr.
Those are better off done atomized into another pr.
## Why It's Good For The Game

less attackby, more item interaction
screentips good

I think having the carving interaction on combat mode is unintuitive,
especially when that's the only interaction it can do.
This ensures the expected primary interaction is always left-click.
## Changelog
🆑
refactor: Refactored the book interaction chain. Please report any
issues.
fix: You can no longer vandalize carved out books if you carve it after
opening the input menu but before entering anything.
qol: Added screentips to book interactions.
qol: Added screentips to barcode scanner interactions.
qol: Carving out books no longer uses combat mode, instead using
left-click by default and right-click if your tool can also write.
Screentips account for this.

MrMelbert 5261efb67f Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
## About The Pull Request

Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it,
`attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the
resulting attack

This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more
definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not
unarmed attacks.

This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer
hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight
into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons
don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for
swing combat).

## Changelog

🆑 Melbert
refactor: Batons have been refactored again. Baton stuns now properly
count as an attack, when before it was a nothing. Report any oddities,
particularly in regards to harmbatonning vs normal batonning.
refactor: The method of adjusting item damage mid-attack has been
refactored - some affected items include the Nullblade and knives.
Report any strange happenings with damage numbers.
refactor: A few objects have been moved to the new interaction chain -
records consoles, mawed crucible, alien weeds and space vines, hedges,
restaurant portals, and some mobs - to name a few.
fix: Spears only deal bonus damage against secure lockers, not all
closet types (including crates)

Ghom 339616ae78 You can now interact with held mobs beside wearing them (feat: "minor" melee attack chain cleanup) (#90080)
## About The Pull Request
People can now pet held mothroaches and pugs if they want to, or use
items on them, hopefully without causing many issues. After all, it only
took about a couple dozen lines of code to make...

...Oh, did the 527 files changed or the 850~ lines added/removed perhaps
catch your eye? Made you wonder if I accidentally pushed the wrong
branch? or skewed something up big time? Well, nuh uh. I just happen to
be fed up with the melee attack chain still using stringized params
instead of an array/list. It was frankly revolting to see how I'd have
had to otherwise call `list2params` for what I'm trying to accomplish
here, and make this PR another tessera to the immense stupidity of our
attack chain procs calling `params2list` over and over and over instead
of just using that one call instance from `ClickOn` as an argument. It's
2025, honey, wake up!

I also tried to replace some of those single letter vars/args but there
are just way too many of them.

## Why It's Good For The Game
Improving old code. And I want to be able to pet mobroaches while
holding them too.

SmArtKar 7ddc30783a Adds better attack animations and alternate attack modes (#88418)
## About The Pull Request

This is the first PR in a series attempting to modernize our damage and
armor, both from a code and a gameplay perspective. This part implements
unique attack animations, adds alternate attack modes for items and
fixes some minor oversights.

Items now have unique attack animation based on their sharpness - sharp
items are now swung in an arc, while pointy items are thrust forward.
This change is ***purely visual***, this is not swing combat. (However,
this does assign icon rotation data to many items, which should help
swing combat later down the line).

Certain items like knives and swords now have secondary attacks - right
clicks will perform stabbing attacks instead of slashing for a chance to
leave piercing wounds, albeit with slightly lower damage - trying to
stick a katana through someone won't get you very far!

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1f92bbcd-9aa1-482f-bc26-5e84fe2a07e1

Turns out that spears acted as oversized knives this entire time, being
SHARP_EDGED instead of SHARP_POINTY - in order for their animations to
make sense, they're now once again pointy (according to comment,
originally they were made sharp because piercing wounds weren't very
threatening, which is no longer the case)

Another major change is that structure damage is now influenced by armor
penetration - I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but attacking
item's AP never applied to non-mob damage.

Additionally, also fixes an issue where attack verbs for you and
everyone else may differ.

san7890 a4328ae1f9 Audits tgui_input_text() for length issues (#86741)
Fixes #86784

## About The Pull Request

Although some of the issues found were a direct result from #86692
(c698196766), there was still 40% of
length-related issues that wouldn't be covered anyways that are fixed in
this PR. I.E.:

* Name inputs without `MAX_NAME_LEN`
* Desc inputs without `MAX_DESC_LEN`
* Plaque inputs without `MAX_PLAQUE_LEN`
* Some people just screwed up the arguments so it would prefill
something like "40" in the `default` var because they didn't name their
vars.

To help me audit I added a lot of `max_length` named arguments to help
people understand it better. I think it might be kinder to have a
wrapper that handles adding `MAX_MESSAGE_LEN` in a lot of these cases
but I think there is some reason for a coder to be cognitive about input
texts? Let me know what you think. I didn't update anything
admin-related from what I can recall, let me know if anything needs to
be unlimited again.
## Why It's Good For The Game

The change to `INFINITY` notwithstanding, there were still an abundance
of issues that we needed to check up on. A lot of these are filtered on
down the line but it is clear that there needs to be something to catch
these issues. Maybe we could lint to make `max_length` a mandatory
argument? I don't know if that's necessary at all but I think that the
limit should be set by the invoker due to the wide arrangement of cases
that this proc could be used in.

This could all be a big nothingburger if the aforementioned PR is
reverted but a big chunk of cases fixed in this PR need to be fixed
regardless of that since people could put in 1024 character names for
stuff like guardians (or more now with the change). Consider this
"revert agnostic".
## Changelog

san7890 f6a31d92b6 Fixes Wiki Book Manuals not working (#79589)
## About The Pull Request

Fixes #79545

Basically, the TGUI markdown reader that every other book uses didn't
properly send the HTML printified wiki page that we had. In order to fix
this, I shuffled around a bunch of code and worked in an edge case to
ensure that these manuals keep functioning.

In an ideal world we would be able to do something more elegant, or
maybe not even rely on displaying wiki pages in-game at all, but we just
gotta play the hand we're dealt and ensure that these sorts of features
continue to work for right now.

Also, we no longer need to both write and access raw HTML in the book
framework to make everything work here. This should reduce a LOT of
potential exploit vectors.

John Willard 5509c32ced Improves some confusing aspects of the Library (#75781)
## About The Pull Request

The barcode scanner now uses balloon alerts and only has 2 modes: check
in and add to inventory. It used to have 4, 2 of which were useless.

Added a title and author to chuuni granter so it's not broken to the
Curator's console. Moves inventory ui data stuff to ui static data so we
can reference it in checkout, which now uses a dropdown list of all
books in checkout, instead of having you fill out the name of the book
yourself.

Removes sending things to a computer by scanning a book then connecting
it to a computer. Just connect it to a computer first, there's no need
for this copy and paste stuff.

Finally, lets the book bag hold posters, since the Curator prints them
and it would be nice if they can also carry them without filling a bag.

Video was taken before the balloon alert stuff so just ignore that part

https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/53777086/e78011af-fb23-4553-a92d-f3dcc8bb5601

## Why It's Good For The Game

The library is currently very confusing for new people to figure out, I
thought this might be able to help with that.
The dropdown in the UI now means it's easier to give out books in
inventory, and you can no longer just type whatever the hell you wanted.

ChungusGamer666 0d75ee8e6e Adds book burning (#74873)
## About The Pull Request

For some reason, unlike other paper items, you couldn't ignite books
with a lighter or other hot item.
Now, you can!

(Also made it so the odd obscure mechanic of cutting pages out of books
can be done by any sharp item, not just wirecutters or knives)

## Why It's Good For The Game

Consistency.
~~Burning copies of WGW.~~

## Changelog

🆑
add: Books can now be burned just like any other paper item.
add: You can cut pages out of books with any sharp item, not just knives
or wirecutters.

Tim a1ada2c9ef Refactor, improve, and rename canUseTopic to be can_perform_action (#73434)
This builds on what #69790 did and improved the code even further.
Notable things:
- `Topic()` is a deprecated proc in our codebase (replaced with
Javascript tgui) so it makes sense to rename `canUseTopic` to
`can_perform_action` which is more straightforward in what it does.
- Positional and named arguments have been converted into a easier to
use `action_bitflag`
- The bitflags adds some new checks you can use like: `NEED_GRAVITY |
NEED_LITERACY | NEED_LIGHT` when you want to perform an action.
- Redundant, duplicate, or dead code has been removed.
- Fixes several runtimes where `canUseTopic` was being called without a
proper target (IV drips, gibber, food processor)
- Better documentation for the proc and bitflags with examples

Paxilmaniac fdc05066a6 Adds falling hazard element, beware of falling tools, wear your hardhat, comically timed piano falling on the clown (#70970)
## About The Pull Request

Do note that the damage in this video is extremely exaggerated compared
to what the normal value is.
## Why It's Good For The Game

All these signs about engineers needing to wear their hardhat, and for
what? For the assistant dropping toolboxes onto them from above, that's
what! Also allows people to do as god intended by allowing them to drop
pianos on people.
## Changelog
🆑
add: A variety of items, mainly tools, around the station might hurt if
they fall on your head, remember to wear your hardhat and to avoid
standing under large red X marks on the ground with a piano hanging
above them.

John Willard 91f02f2a6b canUseTopic now uses TRUE/FALSE instead of defines that just say TRUE (#69790)
* canUseTopic now uses TRUE/FALSE instead of defines that just say TRUE

The most idiotic thing I've seen is canUseTopic's defines, they literally just define TRUE, you can use it however you want, it doesn't matter, it just means TRUE. You can mix and match the args and it will set that arg to true, despite the name.

It's so idiotic I decided to remove it, so now I can reclaim a little bit of my sanity.
