GhomandGitHub c9d4d83412 Fish no longer dies when flopping on safe water. (#90024)
## About The Pull Request
I've been feeling for some time that fishes dying if placed on fishable
water (or lava/plasma for a couple ones) to be kinda lakluster and
counterintuitive. YakumoChen opening an issue about it proved I wasn't
the only one thinking that, and I'm not feeling like starting with
adding fishing stuff just yet. Not without improving the existing
content first.

The source_types file was also getting big and a bit bad to navigate
through, so I've decided to split it into half a dozen distinct files:
fishing portals, rifts, turfs, structures, mining/ruins and surgery.

## Why It's Good For The Game
This fixes #89872.
The files should also be bit more organized now.

## Changelog
🆑
fix: Fish will no longer drown if left half-submerged in a fishable turf
on which it can normally be found. Instead it will disperse after a
while or if starving. Note that this only happens if the fish is native
to such turfs (eg. lavaloop on beach water will still die).

GhomandGitHub 9d6f164501 You can now try to fish random products out of vending machines with a fishing rod and a few bucks. (#88290)
## About The Pull Request
You can now use a fishing rod to fish random vending products from
vending machines, using holochips, coins and spacecash as bait. The
value of the money used as bait will positively influence the chance of
getting the pricier vending items, while using less than the minimum
paycheck (25 credits) will increase the minigame difficulty and carries
an additional, small risk of getting a dud or even hurling the vending
machine in your direction.

This also warranted a slight refactor of how vending product prices are
set.

## Why It's Good For The Game
Expands the list of things you can do with a fishing rod. Like for the
organ manipulation fishing PR. This is not about getting fish, but the
unconventional things we can do along the way.

Now tested, it works.

GhomandGitHub 1dff5f6de3 Aquariums are now potential fishing spots. (#88243)
## About The Pull Request
You can now fish from aquariums if you wish to. This includes some
backend changes to make it possible for the fish table from
get_fish_table() to contain instances, and all that it entails up to
spawn_reward(), which is a requirement for the gimmick to respect the
various traits and other variables of the already instantiated fish
rather than read from cached properties.

## Why It's Good For The Game
The fish progress score/index had only little nasty flaw that has been
nagging me since day one: Not all fish species can be caught. Skipping
McGill, which is a peculiar case that for cheevo purposes should be
considered a standard goldfish, there is the one, unsignificant yet rare
purple sludgefish which can only be gotten as a rare evolution of the
generic sludgefish. Talk about petty, but this may be a long-term nit I
prefer to handle right now.

Also why not? The 'unmarine mastodon' is near impossible to get unless
you somehow find a oil well which is locked behind a specific ruin.

1aad3e118c You can now link fishing portal generators to other fishing spots. (#86291)
## About The Pull Request
You can now interact with the fishing portal generator with a multitool
to load it in the buffer and subsequently link fishing spots to it by
tapping them with the same multitool. The maximum number of fishing
spots that can be linked at once depends on the tier of the matter bins
of the machinery. Normally, while you can link fishing spots from other
z-levels, they can only be activated if they're on the same z-level as
the machinery (or if both are on station for multi-z stations). This
limitation can be bypassed by upgrading the machinery with a tier 3 or
higher capacitator.

While it's possible, I'm not spriting new fishing portal overlays and
icons for the radial menu for every fish source out there (yet). The
code is enough work for now.

This also comes with a unit test, because there is no such thing as too
many unit tests for fishing.

## Why It's Good For The Game
Fish portal generators are designed to let players fish a different
bunch of things while being able to be moved wherever you like, unlike a
lake or an ocean, with all the comfort of being able to able to catch
fish from distant locations. Allowing players to link other fishing
spots to it fits its design. It also means that you can go out and
explore, find more fishing spots and then return to the station without
having to detach yourself from the ongoing round for several more
minutes.

## Changelog

🆑
add: You can now link fishing portal generators to other fishing spots
with a multitool. The number of fishing spots that can be linked at once
and whether the link can be activated from different z levels depends on
the tier of the stock parts it's built with.

GhomandGitHub ba4fa8fe07 What you wear and on what chair you sit on can now influence fishing difficulty (#86646)
## About The Pull Request
A foreword, I had to refactor a few bits of shitcode my past self added
first. For context, the "gone fishing" and "actively fishing" traits
only had one source, which is the fishing challenge itself, ad there was
no way to access the challenge from outside its code, except for a few
weakrefs which were being used as sources for the aforementioned traits
(the shitcode in a nutshell). There were also a few signals that I
didn't like because they were being sent to the harder-to-access
challenge datum rather than the user. So I scrapped the traits for a
couple signals to send to the user, then added a global list as a mean
to easily access the challenge datum, and lastly changed the code to
accomodate the titled feature (and allow the challenge to recalculate
its difficulty DURING the minigame phase)

Moving on to the actual feature: I've added a component that can be
added to objects on which mobs can be buckled to or items. When equipped
in the right slots or buckled to, the object will adjust the difficulty
of current and future fishing challenges by a certain amount (more often
than not positive, but there're many exceptions) as long as the object
isn't equipped or the user is unbuckled.

I've been having some fun adding component to a ton of clothes in the
game as well as chairs. Way too many objects to enumerate, so I'll give
you the general idea:
- each carp-themed article provides a slight positive modifier (easier)
- some (not all) doctor-related garbs provide a marginal positive
modifier each (fish doctor jokes)
- floortile camo clothes have positive modifiers
- Tuxedo, laceups, gowns provide negative modifier (more difficult)
- utility garbs such as bio/bomb/rad hoods and suits are quite bad. Riot
armor too.
- boxing gloves are very, very bad. Insulated gloves and haul gauntlets
are also very bad, to a lesser degree.
- **tackle** gloves are good. (pun intended)
- wizard garbs are good, because wizards are good at casting. (also a
pun)
- magboots slightly bad. Space suits bad.
- Blindfolds and welding protection are also bad. Gas masks marginally
bad.
- Pirate attire is nice to have. (I just vibed a little on this one)
- plastic chairs are quite versatile because they can be carried around,
but the mime chair is the best, followed by ratvarian chairs.
- Fishing toolboxes, analyzers and the fish catalog are a plus, because
they can be held.
- And the fishing hat, obviously (not as great as you'd think)

Some of these may be subject to change depending on what people say.

## Why It's Good For The Game
A hundred lines of fishing challenge code made ever-so-slightly less
awful, and a way to modify fishing diffculty beside skills and bait.

## Changelog

🆑
add: Your current clothes and what chair you sit on can now influence
the difficulty of fishing minigames. Having a bare minimum of fishing
skill will let you distinguish which objects can help and which won't,
so keep an eye out. Holding fishing toolboxes, fish analyzers or fish
catalogs can also help.

adc47b42ee You can release fish after catching it (#86126)
## About The Pull Request
This PR nerfs the mood event from fishing from 5 to 4. In exchange,
after catching a fish, you can release it in the appropriate fishing
spot for a minor positive mood event (if it's alive, or if the user has
either the morbid or naive traits). It also counts towards fish
population for fish that are limited in the amount of times they can be
catched. Mobs with the naive trait (clowns) get the positive mood event
even if the fish is dead or being released in a bad place like lava

Some fishing spots like toilets and moisture traps don't have this
option, but that's because they've their own interactions with fish
that'd otherwise be overridden by it.

This PR also fixes mobs with the morbid trait (coroners) not enjoying
aquarium in their own morbid ways and add a few touches pertaining the
naive trait like alternative chat messages when interacting with the
fish.

## Why It's Good For The Game
This gives players a way to get rid of unwanted fish without leaving it
to die on the floor, also it's in the spirit of recreational fishing.

## Changelog

GhomandGitHub 59e3f1a240 Fishing rewards are now chosen once the minigame starts, not beforehand (feat. Crushing the difficulty now skips the minigame) (#86175)
## About The Pull Request
Rolling the reward up to 30 seconds before the minigame starts leaves
ample room for conditions to mutate and unforeseeable events to happen,
which can lead to more frequent issues. Furthermore, it makes more sense
this way, since you aren't pulling a carp until it bites the hook.

Also TIL that the difficulty of the fishing sources is added to the
default difficulty of the minigame, which is 15 and doesn't replace it,
which means most fishing spots have a default difficulty of 35 to 40, so
I thought it'd be nice if you somehow were able to skip the minigame if
you reduce the difficulty to 0 or less, which is totally possible with
some prep. IIRC, using the athletics fishing gloves at maximum fitness
level (21) + max fishing level (10) + settler quirk (5) + a favorite
bait (5) can lower the difficulty by a whooping 41 points, so it's
totally possible to achieve the skips on many fishing spots. Doing this
however won't train your fishing skill.

## Why It's Good For The Game
More stability. Also we skip the minigame entirely if it gets so easy it
becomes another waiting phase with little to no input.

## Changelog

GhomandGitHub 10c2b7364e The fishening v3: Fishing lures. (#86007)
## About The Pull Request
Over half of the line changes are merely from splitting the
fish_types.dm into several files since it was over 1k lines already.

One of the small issues with fishing right now is RNG. You want to get
some specific fish, and you go through all the micromanaging with hooks,
reels and baits only for the random number god to say "nope", and that's
only going to get worse the more fish are in the game.

However, I've a solution: (unconsumable/reusable) fishing lures, each of
which attracts different fish based on different conditions. The only
caveat is that they require to be spun at set intervals (usually 1 to 3
seconds, depending on the lure, with a second-long window). Worry not,
there're visual cues in the form of a green/red light hovering the
fishing float, so you won't get screwed up by the server slowing down or
whatever.
The whole box of lures (12 so far) can be from cargo for the fair price
of 450 credits.

I've also added 5 new fish: monkfish, plaice, pike, another punnier
variant of the pike, perch and squid. The latter is quite special
because of the ink production trait, which lets players use it to blind
others at a close range and when butchered, it yields an ink sac, which
can be processed into a can of squid ink (one less item exclusive to the
produce console), or thrown at people in a sort-of-similar fashion of
banana cream pies (except it's ink).

</details>

A few more things in the CL, baitfish are a thing now.

## Why It's Good For The Game
There should be ways to contrast some of the RNG fishing has. After all,
it's only going to get more random the more fish are in the game.
Furthermore, I find it disappointing that a lot of food stuff is
exclusive to the ingredients console and there're no other ways to get
it.

## Changelog

🆑
add: Added fishing lures to the game. They don't get used up like baits
and let you catch specific kinds of fish, though they need to be spun
every few seconds. The whole set can be ordered from cargo for 450
credits.
balance: The magnet hook now removes dud chances.
add: Added five new fish types: perch, two types of pike, monkfish,
plaice and squid. Squids have a fairly special ink production trait,
which lets you use them (unless dead) to ink people face at close range,
and can be butchered for an ink sac, which can either be processed into
canned squid ink, or thrown at someone.
fix: Refactored throwing a little. Some items (specifically
components/elements) won't be triggered when caught. no more plates
shattering despite being caught for example.
add: Goldfish, lavaloops, needlefish and armorfish can now be used as
baits.

GhomandGitHub 73081bcff0 Add messages (paper, photos, cash) in bottles. (#85703)
## About The Pull Request
This PR adds a new persistent feature: message inside bottles. These are
basically glass bottles with inside a piece of paper, a photo or space
cash (no holocredits, and most bills rarely go over 1000 credits anyway)
from a previous round, which can be fished at the beach, or from the
relative fishing portals.

Each piece of written paper or photo that isn't map-loaded has a roughly
a 0.2% chance to be added to the message bottles database at the end of
the round. However, you can also manually toss a glass bottle with
inside a paper/photo/bill into the ocean (or a fishing portal generator
with the ocean/beach module loaded) for guaranteed results.

The bottles are removed from the database once fished up by the by,
unless tossed back into the ocean.

I've also offset a couple bottle sprites that weren't properly aligned
(for the message overlays).

TODO:
- [x] add a couple (20 prob or less) message bottle spawners to the
beach away mission or something.
- [x] add a few sounds for adding and removing the message from the
bottle. (pickup/drop sounds already handle that)
- [x] test it properly.

## Why It's Good For The Game
I think it'd be neat to have a way to send photos, snarky "seek grass"
messages, as well as the occasional financial aid to future players, and
furthermore, another thing to tie fishing to.

## Changelog

🆑
add: You can place papers, photos and cash bills (no holochips) inside
bottles and then toss them into the ocean (or fishing portal gen with
relative settings) with right-click, for others to fish them up on
future rounds.

GhomandGitHub c91c50f937 You can now raise lobstrosities from chasms chrabs. (#84969)
## About The Pull Request

Lobstrosities can now be raised from aquarium icemoon/lavaland chrabs.
First of all, you've to get a live chrab, an aquarium, and some fish
feed. Second, you place the chrab inside the aquarium and turn the
'allow breeding' settting on (should probably rename it to a more apt
name now). Keep the chrab well fed, and possibly with some friends and
props in the same aquarium until it develops into a hopefully calm
juveline lobstrosity and plops out of the aquarium (it can take some
time). From there you can tame it by feeding it its favorite food: arms
and lavaloop fish, and wait another dozen minutes for it to mature into
a fully grown lobstrosity.

Juveline lobstrosities are basically smaller and weaker lobstrosities,
if not slightly faster in some ways. Unlike their taller counterparts,
they can be tamed. Once done so, they'll retain their tamedness once
grown up. Regardless, tamed lobstrosities can be given the pet command
to fish for things by pointing at them. Thanks BenMatrix for the
profound fisher component, woo.

The chrab's weigth and size influence the growth speed of the first
stage faster, meaning bigger chrabs (may require crossbreeding) will
turn into juveline lobstrosities quickly. Amongst other things
influencing the resulting mob are fish traits:
Several traits have been given effects that apply to the mob, such as
nocturnal regeneration, being venomous or being able to fly akin space
carps. Also a new one that prevents the resulting lobstrosity from fully
developing

Now tested.

## Why It's Good For The Game
I'm building upon fishing and aquarium stuff, which has been an interest
of mine in a good while, though most of it doesn't have that many
practical uses, I'm slowly trying to make it cooler, and chasm chrabs
growing into lobstrosities is pretty much in line with the fluff texts
for the fish.

Eventually I'll have to add tips inside fishing toolboxes, otherwise
people won't know even half of it.

## Changelog

🆑

add: Juveline lobstrosities (from chasms, plasma rivers, or aquariums,
xenobio too) can be tamed with arms and lavaloop fishes.
add: For lobstrosities grown from aquariums, they can have additional
effects based on the fish traits they had in the aquarium, like being
venomous or even flying.

because of its body's curvature and razor sharp spikes, this fish can
also be used as a make-shift boomerang weapon against mining mobs,
although it comes with some new mechanics. u can increase the damage it
does to mobs by winding up ur throw. when the bar reaches purple, this
indicates maximum damage. however, if it goes over the purple, it will
react violently and explode your arm off, so you have to time it just
right to get the best damage possible. On icebox, instead of dealing raw
damage, fish will freeze mobs depending on how long you charged ur
throw. charging it for too long will cause the fish to freeze you
instead

GhomandGitHub aa9caef0ed Fishing hook and reel line tweaks (also qol for the fish bounties) (#80599)
## About The Pull Request
This PR includes a series of small changes and additions to hooks and
reel lines, as well as the aforementioned bounties. My objective here is
to make the (base) hook and reel line feel more useful. Ditto with a few
other things.

Here's the list of changes:
- Almost all fishing rods come with a hook and reel line pre-installed.
The rod from the fishing toolbox comes with separate hook and reel line.
- Without a hook, you cannot fish. Without a reel line, the cast range
is reduced (from 5 to 3).
- Fishing with a reel line installed provides a mild boon to completion
speed by default.
- The sinewy reel line (craftable from lavaland mobs) can now be used to
fish on lava / liquid plasma, but it's a bit stiff and gives a mild
malus to completion speed.
- Unlike other hooks, the rescue and jawed hooks now allow you to cast a
line and reel in living mobs too, not only items. They even get a status
alert they can click to un-snag themselves, or move away far enough to
achieve the same effect.
- Master fishing rod buffed. It now comes with a flexible reel line and
weighted hook pre-installed, and can be cast further than other rods.
- On top of that, the jawed hook will slow down living mobs snagged by
it and is a bit harder to remove.
- when casting a line, it will now show the icon of the current hook as
projectile, not a generic one.
- Reeling now correctly checks movement resistance and anchorage.
- Reeling an object (or a mob) now plays a sound. Ditto for
installing/removing slotted items.
- A few balloon alert feedbacks.
- Minor code improvements.
- The jawed hook should look a smidge sharper.
- reel lines are now small items.

## Why It's Good For The Game
The base hook and reel line didn't do anything begin with, and you would
do just fine without them. In the end it's just a bit unintuitive for
them not to be a requirement.

Beside that, it makes sense for the rescue hook to be able to snag mobs,
so they may as well be used to drag people out of lava or liquid plasma.
As for the jawed hook, it always felt to me a bit underwhelming and a
bit of a filler I had cooked up on the moment. It really could have some
'tactical' utility in virtue of being one of those niche black market
items.

## Changelog

🆑
add: Most fishing rods come with a hook and line preinstalled. Fishing
toolboxes come with separate reel and lines as usual.
balance: Fishing hooks are now required to fish.
balance: Without a reel line, the range of fishing rods is reduced by
two tiles. Conversely, having one installed gives a mild buff to the
minigame completion speed.
balance: The craftable sinewy reel line can now be used to fish on lava
or liquid plasma, but it's a bit harder to use.
balance: The rare-to-find-in-maintenance master fishing rod now comes
with a flexible line and weighted hook preinstalled, and has better
range than other rods.
balance: Fishing reel lines are now small enough to fit pockets.
add: The rescue and jawed hook can now snag and reel in mobs, not only
items. The jawed hook also slows down when applied, a la beartrap.
qol: Fish bounties now accept filled (stasis) fish cases.
qol: Several balloon alerts for fishing rod interactions.
fix: Reeling in items (and mobs) now respects movement resistance and
anchorage.
fix: Fixed the fishing rod equipment UI being too small to fit its
components.

MrMelbertandGitHub 290c271b07 You can fish out of hydroponics trays (#79443)
## About The Pull Request

Adds a fishing spot to hydroponics trays.

Chances

- 33% nothing
- 33% grass
- 20% random seed (discludes rarer seeds, such as gatfruit and most
mutations)
- 10% grass seeds
- 1% strange seed
- 1% axolotl
- 1% frog

Lightly inspired by something (I think) is possible on Goon, but
obviously entirely new code.

## Why It's Good For The Game

Mostly just for laughs, they're basins of water so surely you can get
something out of it.

## Changelog

🆑 Melbert
add: Fishers can now try their luck at fishing out of hydroponics
basins.

GhomandGitHub db8eca7bf3 The fishing portal generator expansion (plus skill-chip) (#78203)
## About The Pull Request
This is a PR I worked on last month, but had to put on hold while
dealing with some pressing issues with fishing feature, minigame and
other stuff, and because I had to atomize out some of the stuff
previously present here.

I've expanded on the fishing portal generator to do something other than
dispense guppies and goldfishes. It now has multiple settings,
unlockable by performing scanning experiments for fish types, available
from the get go, which also reward a meager amount of techweb points
upon completion. The generator can now be built too. No longer it has to
be ordered from cargo.
It can also be emagged for the syndicate setting, tho right now it only
dispenses donkfish and emulsijack, both otherwise impossible to get
outside of... exodrone adventures.

The advanced fishing rod now comes with an experiment handler component,
specific to the fish scanning experiment, that automatically scans
fished content. The node to get it now requires 2000 points and the
first fish scanning exp to be unock.

A new skillchip has been added, which adds a trait that changes the icon
of the fish shown in the minigame UI, giving some clues on what the
reward will be. The same trait is also gained by reaching the master
(penultimate) level of the fishing skill.

A new fish type has been added, with its own quirks. One of these quirks
included temporarily switching movement direction of the bait.
Currently, it can only be fished in the hyperspace and randomizer
setting of the fishing portal.

## Why It's Good For The Game
The fishing portal generator is but a stale and underdeveloped prototype
of the fishing feature right now, so much I was thinking of removing it
at first. However, we also have a lot of fishes which are pretty much
unfishable, so I came up with the idea of adding new portal settings
that allow people to actually get them.

As for the skillchip and trait, it's but an extra to both the vending
machine in the library and the fishing skill itself, which has an
overall humble impact on the minigame.

## Changelog

🆑
add: Expanded the fishing portal generator. It now comes with several
portal options that can be unlocked by performing fish scanning
experiments, which also award a modest amount of techweb points.
balance: The fishing portal generator is now buildable and no longer
orderable. The board can be printed from cargo, service and science
lathes.
balance: Advanced fishing tech is no longer a BEPIS design. It now
requires the base fish scanning experiment and 2000 points to be
unlocked.
add: The advanced fishing rod now comes with an incorporated
experiscanner specific for fish scanning.
add: Added a new skillchip that may change the icon of the "fish" shown
in the minigame UI to less generic ones. Reaching master level in
fishing also does that.
qol: The experiment handler UI no longer shows unselectable experiments.

GhomandGitHub a3522c6c38 Miscellaneous fishing code changes. (#77739)
## About The Pull Request
This PR contains a few changes that I hadn't got to do earlier,
including: different pressure / air mixture thresholds for different
fish (if amphibious), fish being able to be fed directly without the
need of an aquarium, replacing the `available_in_random_cases` variable
with a weight define of value 0, the preset fishing sources global list
so we don't have to manually instantiate lazy fishing spots and assign
them stupid string defines, chasm detritus made into datums, a couple
balloon alerts and removal of unused code.

## Why It's Good For The Game
The fishing portal generator UI is unused, the perfect variable for the
fishing minigame is also unused.
There's no reason for chasm detritus to be an item instead of a datum.
It isn't a map spawner.
Chasm chrabs, if given the amphibious trait, should be able to survive
Lavaland/Icemoon's atmosphere.
I don't even know why I made a snowflake proc to instantiate the
evolutions global list instead of `init_subtypes_w_path_keys`
The shiny lover and wary fish traits were actually making the minigame
slightly easier.
The background icons for the UI had a zero-alpha, one pixel thin stripe
on top that needed to be colored.
Improved `fish_source/proc/dispense_reward`.
Some doc comments and a typo or two.

## Changelog

🆑
add: You can now feed fish with the can of fish feed without having to
put the fish in a aquarium first.
balance: Some fish may survive in different, harsher atmospheres if
given the amphibious trait, like chasm chrabs on lavaland.
qol: aquarium now uses balloon alerts when feeding fish.
fix: The wary and shiny lover no longer incorrectly remove difficulty
from the minigame if conditions aren't met.

GhomandGitHub d9c8bd9bae [READY] Fishing and aquarium expansion. (#76531)
Listing the changes, off the top of my head:
- Resprited fishing rods, hooks, and the worm bait!
- Added a new, telescopic fishing rod, that can be bought as a goodie.
The master rod is also telescopic now.
- Added a couple hooks. One that lets you move the bait up and down,
otherwise keeping it in place, and another that stops the fish from
escaping, but slowly kills it. The former from the bepis fishing tech
node, the latter frm the black market.
- Added a fishing skill and relative legendary reward: A fishing hat,
like the one that recites "women fear me, fish fear me"
- You can now stop fishing by activating the fishing rod in your hand,
and stops it from stealing all clicks on other things if it isn't in
your active hand.
- Reworked fishing traits into fish traits, which can apply to fish
after it has been caught.
- Expanded the fish breeding system. Traits may be passed down to
offsprings, and offsprings may evolve (mutate?) into different kind of
fishes if conditions when conditions are met.
- Added half a dozen new fishes, each with its own traits: lubefish,
sludgefish (and its purple variant), slimefish, unmarine bonemass and
unmarine mastodon. Also, holodeck fish, as a joke.
- New traits: lubed skin, parthenogenesis, toxic (new reagent), toxin
immunity, predator, necrophage, no mating, crossbreeder, aggressive and
revival. Converted Emulsijack's ability and Donkfish's yuckiness into
traits as well.
- Added a fish analyzer that you can scan aquariums and fishes with.
- Fish can now be blended if you really want to. The number of reagents
from blending, w_class, and the number of fillets you get from cutting
fish now scale with size and weight.
- fish feed is no longer infinite (but it should still be plenty).
- Implemented temperature requirements for aquarium fish.
- You can now buy (dead) fish from the black market for dirt cheap.
- Last but now least, toilets are now valid fishing spots.

LemonInTheDarkandGitHub ae5a4f955d Pulls apart the vestiges of components still hanging onto signals (#75914)
## About The Pull Request

Signals were initially only usable with component listeners, which while
no longer the case has lead to outdated documentation, names, and a
similar location in code.

This pr pulls the two apart. Partially because mso thinks we should, but
also because they really aren't directly linked anymore, and having them
in this midstate just confuses people.

GoldenAlpharexandGitHub fccd833526 Fishing Odds Code Improvements and Rescue Hooks (#71415)
## About The Pull Request
I wanted to try and implement an easier way for people to fish out
corpses from chasms, as I heard many tales of people trying to fish
others out of chasms and it taking over one IRL hour, with some cases
where it would take over two hours. Obviously, that's not really
interesting gameplay, and it doesn't really give people an incentive to
fish, it just turns it into an annoyance that people won't want to do
for fun. Now, we don't want that, do we?

As such, I've created the rescue hook, a special fishing hook that can
only be used in chasms (as that's currently the only place you can find
people into), which will only be able to fish out duds, skeleton
corpses, any mob that's fallen into a chasm and hasn't been rescued yet,
or rarely, a hostile monster lurking below. It has, at the time of
writing this, a weight of 5 (50 without bait, lower with bait) for duds
and a weight of 30 for chasm detritus, which themselves have a 50%
chance to be a random skeleton corpse, or a lobstrosity, and the
remaining 50% chance of fishing out a mob that's fallen into a chasm.
I'm open to tweaking these values if we think it's too easy or too hard,
but it's still a rather expensive item, so I'd consider it quite fine
the way it is myself, as it's still not risk-free.

It's currently only obtainable through buying it from cargo in the
goodies section, at a default price of 600 credits (making it
SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the rest of the fishing content, and
making it something that assistants will have to put some elbow grease
into if they want to be able to afford it).

As it stands currently, it can't be used to recover the fallen's
belongings that weren't on their person (i.e., their crusher if they
were holding it in hands), ~*but* I'm down to make that easier to fish
out using, for instance, the magnet hook, while also making it
incompatible with fishing out bodies, which would make it a nice way to
recover those lost items without spending over an hour fishing for them,
if that's something that maintainers would want.~ Maintainers did want
it, and as such...

The Magnetic hook is now the go-to hook to retrieve objects from chasms!
Not only does it inherently do a much better job at fishing out
non-fishes, it also has a lesser chance of retrieving random junk from
chasms, and an even lower chance of fishing out lobstrosities!

I also improved the code for the fishing weights calculation so that the
hooks and the rods can have an effect on the odds of certain types of
rewards more easily, with the option of offloading a more of what's
currently being calculated on `fishing_challenge` over on the rods or
even the hooks themselves.

I finished by fixing a handful of capitalization and punctuation issues
in various fishing items, as that bugged me when I was testing my
changes.

## Why It's Good For The Game
Corpses being recoverable from chasms was a great idea, however making
it so people would have to sink a major portion of their shift for a
chance at recovering a corpse doesn't create a particularly interesting
gameplay loop. However, being able to spend your hard-earned funds in
order to streamline that process without really being able to use that
to cheese other mechanics sounds like a great deal to me.

## Changelog

🆑 GoldenAlpharex
add: Added a Rescue Hook, that will allow the fishing rod it's attached
onto to become a lot more proficient at recovering corpses from chasms,
at the expense of making it unusable for more traditional fishing. It
isn't entirely lobstrosity-proof, however...
balance: The magnetic hook can no longer fish out corpses from chasms,
but will fish out items much more efficiently than any other hooks,
while also being much less attractive to lobstrosities. Some still fall
for it regardless, however.
spellcheck: Fixed the capitalization and punctuation in the description
of multiple fishing accessories.
code: Improved the code for fishing weights, to allow for different
hooks to have some more noticeable results on the weights without having
to add to an already massive proc.

4d6a8bc537 515 Compatibility (#71161)
Makes the code compatible with 515.1594+

Few simple changes and one very painful one.
Let's start with the easy:
* puts call behind `LIBCALL` define, so call_ext is properly used in 515
* Adds `NAMEOF_STATIC(_,X)` macro for nameof in static definitions since
src is now invalid there.
* Fixes tgui and devserver. From 515 onward the tmp3333{procid} cache
directory is not appened to base path in browser controls so we don't
check for it in base js and put the dev server dummy window file in
actual directory not the byond root.
* Renames the few things that had /final/ in typepath to ultimate since
final is a new keyword

And the very painful change:
`.proc/whatever` format is no longer valid, so we're replacing it with
new nameof() function. All this wrapped in three new macros.
`PROC_REF(X)`,`TYPE_PROC_REF(TYPE,X)`,`GLOBAL_PROC_REF(X)`. Global is
not actually necessary but if we get nameof that does not allow globals
it would be nice validation.
This is pretty unwieldy but there's no real alternative.
If you notice anything weird in the commits let me know because majority
was done with regex replace.

@tgstation/commit-access Since the .proc/stuff is pretty big change.

AnturKandGitHub fddb6ea124 Fishing, Version 1 (#67691)
Adds fishing and fishing minigame.
You use fishing rod to fish.
Equipping specific bait/hook/reels will affect your success chances.
You can fish out fish, items and other things.

Fishing Equipment
Fishing rods have three slots: Bait, Reel and Hook.
Any food can be used as bait but dedicated bait makes fishing easier.
You can buy hook and line sets
New bait types:

Worms : Buy can of them at cargo (alternative acquirement method pending)
Doughballs : Use knife on flat piece of dough to get five of them.
Fishing rod types:

Basic : Print these at the lathe, nothing fancy here.
Tech: Experimental tech. Provides infinite bait
Fishing rods can also hook and reel normal items.

Equipment screen and reeling video
Fishing spots
Keep in mind this PR is meant to add the basic systems and i intend to fill these with more fish in future PR's so wait with suggestions until then.

Lavaland lava (no fish here right now, just other stuff), requires reinforced line to fish in.
Maintenance moisture traps.
Beach away mission water.
Fishing portal available for purchase from cargo - This is stopgap until we fill more spots.
Difficulty depends on fishing spot, fish type, and the fish traits and rod setup combinations.
All fish types can have specific traits, most common ones being favourite and disliked bait types/categories.

Other
Fishing catalog now lists fishing related info
New admin debug verb, fishing calculator that show probabilities with different setups so it's easier to balance this.
Fish now have average weight and size. Make sure to boast if you catch a big one.
