FalloutFalconandGitHub 5eeb3e4d53 makes xenobio stuff use interact_with_atom (#93918)
## About The Pull Request
Makes slime potions, injector, and cookies use item_interaction.
generizices behavoir that potions typed under
`obj/item/slimepotion/slime/` only affect slimes, moves the handful of
potions that did not do that out of that type.
removed a random type casting for slime cookies to verify there human
before it checks for `TRAIT_AGEUSIA` as there is no reason other mobs
wouldn't be able to taste it.
do to the refactor you wont "bash" a lot of items if the interaction
fails.

Kapu1178andGitHub a0e862d575 Base implementation of /datum/persistent_client (#89449)
## About The Pull Request
Converts `/datum/player_details` into `/datum/persistent_client`.
Persistent Clients persist across connections. The only time a mob's
persistent client will change is if the ckey it's bound to logs into a
different mob, or the mob is deleted (duh).

Also adds PossessByPlayer() so that transfering mob control is cleaner
and makes more immediate sense if you don't know byond-fu.

## Why It's Good For The Game
Clients are an abstract representation of a connection that can be
dropped at almost any moment so putting things that should be stable to
access at any time onto an undying object is ideal. This allows for
future expansions like abstracting away client.screen and managing
everything cleanly.

940e2d31cf tgstation is back online and you are a horrible goose (#89204)
## About The Pull Request

Converts geese to basic mobs.
Nobody else did this one because two separate other developers have said
they started and then examining what the goose does made them feel
mildly ill, but I am stronger.

I will admit though I wasn't 100% committed to making it work exactly
the same way, I rewrote the entire system to use interfaces I like more
(read: I put all this shit in a status effect which means any mob can be
given the ability to vomit out everything in its contents) and if that
means the behaviour is only "inspired by" that didn't bother me that
much.

**Geese:**
- Wander randomly around.
- Peck people who attack them.
- Occasionally start pecking other nearby animals for absolutely no
reason.
- Eat any food they randomly wander within one tile of, but don't seek
it out further than that.
- Eat anything made of plastic that they randomly wander within one tile
of.
- Choke to death over 30 seconds if they eat anything made of plastic.
- Vomit out whatever it was that they choked on when they die.
- Honk (this is new).

The more famous subtype of goose is Birdboat. Birdboat is a unique goose
present on several maps with some additional behaviour.

**Birdboat:**
- Is chill and doesn't start pecking people for no reason.
- Is occasionally possessed by ghosts.
- Builds up an internal vomit-meter as he eats things. Moving around and
just sort of generally hanging will start rolling dice to find out when
Birdboat's tummy gets upset.
- May start vomiting instead of choking to death on plastic, thereby
saving his own life.
- Vomits out everything that he just ate while running around, making a
mess of the floor.
- Starts eating everything he just vomited out again.

Unlike regular geese who just eat your food and it's gone, Birdboat's
miraculous digestion preserves all of the food he eats so if he consumes
the entire kitchen counter it will eventually come back out again the
way it went in. Although you might not want to eat it any more.

The precise way in which this manifests may be slightly different, but
largely this is also what these animals did before.

Other stuff:

I noticed a bunch of find/set behaviours were not setting a search
range? I think that means they were never finding anything?
I did not actually test any of them to see if they were broken, but it's
possible that a bunch of broken AI behaviours like "climbing trees" may
now actually start triggering because they have a search radius greater
than an orange of 0.

I added "keep this in contents instead of deleting it" as a parameter
for generic eating and slapped it on the goldgrub, as it is used in two
places and may end up being used in more.

## Why It's Good For The Game

This kills off the last user of the `retaliate` subtype and makes our
list so so much closer to finish.
It's like... a couple of bots, a handful of oddballs (I'll probably
handle these soon), and then just the mining bosses and minibosses to
go.

If you give a human the vomit goose ability (now that I made it work on
any mob) they will eject all their organs and body parts via the mouth
until they die, if you don't do the brain or heart first you can vomit
your own head off.

## Changelog

refactor: Geese have been moved to the basic mob subsystem, please

SmArtKarandGitHub d4ac95a0e1 Nobody expects the span inquisition: replaces most <span>s with macros (#86798)
## About The Pull Request
123 changed files and multiple crashes after writing broken regex, I
replaced most remains of direct spans with macros. This cleans up the
code and makes it easier to work with in general, see justification for
the original PR. I also fixed a bunch of broken and/or unclosed spans
here too.
I intentionally avoided replacing spans with multiple classes (in most
cases) and spans in the middle of strings as it would impact readability
(in my opinion at least) and could be done later if required.

## Why It's Good For The Game

Cleaner code, actually using our macros, fixes borked HTML in some
places. See original PR.

Whale whale whale, It wasn't shrimple, I had to spend severals minutes

Adds Misha the bear to icebox HoS office, a snow bear with the same
health stats as Sgt. Araneus.
## Why It's Good For The Game
With how easy it is to break into the HoS office on icebox (you don't
need any space protection) it never made sense to keep a slow pet in the
office. The bear is fast and deals 15 damage, while also resistant to
cold.
I think it adds more depth that the HoS tamed a bear on icebox and

8442124bcd Gondolas are now basic mobs (#83451)
## About The Pull Request

This PR turns gondolas into basic mobs and does some fiddling with
gondola pods
Their verbs are now action buttons which they lose upon delivering. If
set to stay, they won't have their abilities afterwards (or wont get
them in the first place if the delivery is already done).
Lets them survive without a pod requirement in case admins want to spawn
one for their own stuff, so I also removed it from the snowflake checks
to exclude them from stuff.

Also replaced the hardcoded "cant speak" with simply giving the mute
trait, so admins can make gondolas speak if they want to for any reason.

## Why It's Good For The Game

The pet level of simple animals can finally be killed off, also gives
admins more control over gondola-related stuff if they so wish.

13spacemenandGitHub 357799c8a5 Removes Orbit Polling Component, SSpolling improvement (#81748)
When I made SSpolling, jlsnow gave me his blessing to delete the orbit
polling component [where you orbit something for 20 seconds before it
chooses a ghost from the orbiters]
It's only used in a few places like soulstones replacing
jobbanned/inactive players, etc.

Also upgraded SSpolling; you can now place a little icon on the sides in
the chat message, chat message looks a lot nicer, the alert pic and the
jump target don't have to be the same anymore, and I made it be able to
pre-pick candidates since 90% of the use cases would just want 1
candidate

Also prints to chat who the chosen one was

Also made slime intelligence potions ask the user for a reason, which
will be displayed in the alert poll

13spacemenandGitHub 908d6f1a2b Better Ghost Selection (#80283)
## About The Pull Request
Revived my old PR https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/68901

Replaces the annoying tgui alert popup "Do you want to be X? | Yes | No
| Never for this round" that is hard to read and steals window focus,
with a nice clean alert in the top right that counts down. If it's the
same event/mob they stack with 2x, 3x, etc. It also shows how many
candidates/ghosts are signed up.

The poll alerts have screentips too, they countdown and show if you're
signed up, how many people are signed up, if you chose "never for this
round" (which is cancelable)

JacquerelandGitHub 497f18ea32 Spiders don't automatically grant an antag datum (#77523)
## About The Pull Request

Fixes #77501

Spider egg ghost role spawners grant the spider antag datum, rather than
the act of being a spider.
This means that gold core, mapstart, polymorph belt, and other spiders
will not have an antagonist datum.

While doing this I also made a new abstract `mob/living/basic/spider`
type which all three kinds of spider life stage (`spiderling`, `young`,
`giant`) extend from, because there was a gross amount of copied code.
Now there isn't.

Also the Flesh Spider and Event Midwife eggs now simply hatch adult
spiders instead of child ones.
This is because there is no reason for either of these to have a two
minute wait time before they get going. Midwife spiders spawned by the
event should just start spidering immediately, and Flesh Spiders are
made by changelings and shouldn't be effected by measures introduced to
balance the spider gamemode.
Eggs which are laid during a round and _can_ hatch into midwife spiders
still hatch baby spiders.

Also I swapped some white pixels on the animation of the ambush
spiderling for a different colour because they looked bad.

## Why It's Good For The Game

While the policy is always "if you turn yourself into something, you're
not an antagonist" the presence of the antag datum still confuses
people. Plus that code was gross and I didn't like it.

## Changelog

JacquerelandGitHub 2ee79d7077 Bots no longer require PAIs to become sapient (#76691)
## About The Pull Request

We were talking in the coder channel about what the role of a pAI is,
with a general conclusion that as the name would suggest they should be
_personal assistants_.
This means they should be sticking around their owner, not wandering
away as a holochassis or in the body of a bot.
The former is a matter for a future PR, the latter I am addressing here.

What we also discussed is that clearly some people _want_ to respawn as
a weird quasi-useless mob which wanders aimlessly around the station.
That seems like a fine thing to exist, but it shouldn't be a pAI.

Resultingly: pAI cards can no longer be placed inside bots.
However, you also no longer need to place pAI cards inside bots in order
for them to become sapient, it's a simple toggle on the bot control
menu. Enabling this option will poll ghosts
Toggling the "personality matrix" off while a bot is being controlled by
a ghost will ghost them again, so if they're annoying they're not that
hard to get rid of.

![image](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/7483112/ec14c2f2-3c0f-4f03-9dfc-22abca00a477)

Mobs which couldn't have a pAI inserted don't have this option.
Specifically securitrons, ED-209, and Hygienebots (for some reason).

Perhaps most controversially, any bots which are present on the station
when the map loads will have this setting enabled by default. We will
see if players abuse this too much and need their toys taken away, I am
hoping they can be trusted.

Additionally, as part of this change, mobs you can possess now appear in
the spawners menu.

![image](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/7483112/7c505471-43de-4e4e-89a5-877dc3086684)
Here is an unusually populated example.

Oh also in the process of doing this I turned the regal rat "click this
to become it" behaviour into a component because it seems generally
useful.

## Why It's Good For The Game

Minor stuff for dead players to do if they want to interact with living
players instead of observe.
Shift pAI back into a more intended role as a personal assistant who
hangs around with their owner, rather than just a generic respawn role.

MrMelbertandGitHub 8c1e35e1c0 Refactors mind language holders into non-existent, fixes new languages being deleted on species swap + tests (#76612)
## About The Pull Request

This PR refactors mind language holders into non-existence

As a result, `update_atom_languages` is no longer necessary

Mind-bound languages are transferred via `/mind/proc/transfer_to`

Species changing no longer deletes and re-creates the mob's language
holder, allowing them to keep any languages they have.

Species languages are sourced from `LANGUAGE_SPECIES` now, meaning they
are removed when they change species. If the mob is not a human with a
species datum, these are effectively just atom level languages.

Makes a bunch of unit tests to ensure language transfer over certain
events works as intended

## Why It's Good For The Game

Mobs with minds having two independent language holders results in a
good few bugs, and simply doesn't make sense when we have sources
(`LANGUAGE_MIND`).

Instead of tracking two language holders, we can simply use sources
better and only track one.

This means that the language holder you start with is your language
holder, period. It doesn't get deleted or re-instantiated or whatever.

## About The Pull Request

There's a couple of open issues which fix places where only simple

I decided to just go through every instance of `isanimal` or

I left out the two others which are already in PR, I'm not stealing your

## Why It's Good For The Game

Consistency, mostly.
As far as I can tell all of these things _should_ have effected basic
mobs, but didn't.
This fixes a fair number of bugs but also they're bugs that nobody
noticed or reported.

There are a couple of places I did not update which will need updating

- Dextrousness checks, because basic mobs don't have that yet.
- The Charge cooldown action, because frankly I couldn't tell what it
was trying to do.

JacquerelandGitHub 728a0f1b91 Grand Ritual: Alternate Wizard objective (Wizard Events II) (#72918)
Adds an alternate greentext objective for Wizards known as the "Grand
Ritual". This was initially the gimmick of a different wizard-related
antagonist downstream. I didn't get permission to port it, so I'm
attaching it to regular Wizards instead.

Wizards will spawn in with a new Grand Ritual button next to their
antagonist info button. Pressing it will pinpoint them towards their
next Ritual Location (a randomly chosen region of the space station).
Once within that location, pressing it will summon a magic circle and
obliterate any dense objects which are in the way. This also puts the
ability on a two minute cooldown.
Clicking on the magic circle with an empty hand will begin a three-stage
invocation to gather magical power. You can interrupt this invocation at
any time and will resume from the last stage you completed (if you
finished two stages you only need to do one more).
Once you complete a ritual, a random event will be triggered based on
how many rituals you have performed so far. These tend to be ones which
annoy the crew in some manner, and Wizard Events are included in the
list. Additionally, something weird will usually happen to the room you
are in.
Then you are assigned a new location and can toddle off to do it again.

Once you have done this three times, you will be picked up by the
station's sensors every time you start a subsequent ritual and should
expect annoyed company to come investigate.
Once you have done this six times, you can finally spend all of that
accumulated power on the seventh Grand Finale ritual. Completing this
grants you victory at the end of the round and will have a larger,
flashier effect which you can pick from a list of options, think of it
like a wizard equivalent of a Traitor Final Objective or Heretic
Ascension.
After that you can still keep doing rituals if you want to pester the
crew further by summoning more random events, you've already "won" at
this point so now it's your job to make them want to go home.

I think it'd be more fun to just find out what the Finale ritual can do
by seeing it happen but maintainers will probably want a list of its
precise capabilities, so here it is:

Currently completing a ritual also has a chance to create Heretic
Reality Tears (of both varieties, available for Heretics to eat and
visible to crew) as a kind of cross-antagonist interaction which seemed
to make sense to me but if this seems thematically or mechanically
inappropriate it's easy to strip out.

## About The Pull Request

Wow we're finally here. This turns carp into Basic Mobs instead of

They use a variety of behaviours added in previous PRs to act in a
marginally more interesting way than they used to.
But don't worry there's still 2 or 3 PRs to follow this one until I'm
done with space fish.

Changes in this PR:
Carp will try to run away if they get below 50% health, to make use of
their "regenerate if not attacked" component.
Magicarp have different targetting behaviour for spells depending on
their spell;
- Ressurecting Carp will try to ressurect allied mobs.
- Animating Carp will try to animate nearby objects.
- Door-creating Carp will try to turn nearby walls into doors.

You can order Magicarp to cast their spell on something if you happen to
manage to tame one.
The eating element now has support for "getting hurt" when you eat
something. Carp eating can rings and hating it was too soulful not to
continue supporting.

## Why It's Good For The Game

Carp are iconic beasts and I think they should be more interesting.
Also we just want to turn mobs into basic mobs anyway.

## Changelog

🆑
add: Carp will now run away if their health gets low, meaning they may
have a chance to regenerate.
add: Lia will now fight back if attacked instead of letting herself get
killed, watch out!
balance: Magicarp will now aim their spells more intelligently.
add: Tame Magicarp can be ordered to use their spells on things.
refactor: Carp are now "Basic Mobs" instead of "Simple Mobs"
fix: Dehydrated carp no longer give you a bad feeling when they're your
friend and a good feeling when they're going to attack you.
balance: Tamed carp are now friendly only to their tamer rather than
their whole faction, which should make dehydrated carp more active.
Order them to stay or follow you if you want them to behave around your
friends.

TastyfishandGitHub ebc0227176 Makes dog a basic mob [MDB IGNORE] (#70799)
About The Pull Request

Made a basic version of the pet base called /mob/living/basic/pet. It's significantly more stripped down from the old simple_animal one, because its half collar stuff and...

Made the collar slot a component that you could theoretically remove from a pet to disable the behavior, or add to any other living mob as long as you set up the icon states for the collar (or not, the visuals are optional).
The corgi's collar strippable slot is now generally the pet collar slot, and in theory could be used for other pet stripping screens.

I also gutted the extra access card code from /mob/living/basic/pet as it's only being used by corgis. Having a physical ID is now just inherent to corgis, as they're the only ones that could equip it anyway.

Ported the make_babies() function from simple_animals to a new subtree and associated behavior, called /datum/ai_planning_subtree/make_babies that uses blackboards to know the animal-specific info.
Note that it's marginally improved, as the female walks to the male first instead of bluespace reproduction.

Tweaked and improved the dog AI to work as a basic mob, including making /datum/idle_behavior/idle_dog fully functional.

Made a /datum/ai_planning_subtree/random_speech/dog that pulls the dynamic speech and emotes to support dog fashion.

I've tested base collars across multiple pet types.

For dogs, I've tested general behavior, fetching, reproduction, dog fashion, and deadchat_plays, covering all the oddities I'm aware of.
