Enhances algorithm for finding an atom mount (#94076)
## About The Pull Request Depends on #94064 for the unit test but offers a better method for finding an atom to mount on - Finding a mount now takes into consideration the objects pixel x & y offsets meaning diagonal mounting is now supported. Gives great flexibility for mappers - If you don't want to use pixel offsets but default back to using the objects direction that behaviour is still preserved. Useful if your object uses directional icon states(lights & cameras for now) AND don't use offsets - If no direction could be specified then as the last resort it defaults back to the objects local turf for mounting ## Changelog 🆑 fix: all mounted objects on tables, fences, windows & walls should fall of correctly when the atom it is placed on is destroyed fix: security telescreen now falls off when their mounted wall is destroyed fix: defib wall mount falls off when their mounted wall is destroyed fix: floor lights are mounted to the ground/catwalk/tram floor they are sitting on meaning destroying it will destroy the light fix: wall mounted plaques now fall off when their mounted wall is destroyed /🆑 |

Unit tests, refactor & realignment for map loaded wall mounts (#93662)
## About The Pull Request This 1st has to be PR'd so the integration tests can point out all wallmounts that could not find a support structure to mount on. I then will do many map edits to align them onto the closest atom Yes we no longer use wall mount but atom mounted component. All objects that are mounted on windows/tables & fences now also fall off when destroyed It'll probably be a WHILE before I can fix all wall mounts. Long day. Expect me to misalign many stuff to fix failing CI so make sure to provide suggestions when possible Improved wallmount code overall - Fixes #93793 ## Changelog 🆑 fix: fixes all incorrectly maploded wall mounts that aren't actually hanging on any support structure fix: objects mounted on tables, windows & fences also fall off now when destoryed qol: lights can be mounted on windows qol: cameras can be mounted on windows qol: buttons can be mounted on tables refactor: improved how wall mounts interact with objects as a whole report bugs on github /🆑 |

Icebox ruin: RoroCo glove factory (#92473)
## About The Pull Request Adds a new surface ruin to icebox, the RoroCo factory. Contains a couple of puzzles, and a small amount of loot in the form of ~~3 total pairs of insulated gloves~~ a pair of insulated gloves, two adorable roros and a cool unique labcoat. Just don't ask where the gloves come from... Puzzles can of course be avoided/brute-forced by breaking down the walls but that's for chumps. <img width="1152" height="1024" alt="Space Station 13 2025-08-06 221903" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/21050aa6-9b27-494d-a949-7496aeda18cf" /> ## Why It's Good For The Game The upcoming 1x3 icebox surface calls for more ruin content to help fill that space. ## Changelog 🆑 add: A new insulated glove factory has popped up on the ice moon. add: Freezer floor tiles now come in the full range of shapes. /🆑 |

Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
## About The Pull Request Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it, `attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the resulting attack This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not unarmed attacks. This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for swing combat). ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert refactor: Batons have been refactored again. Baton stuns now properly count as an attack, when before it was a nothing. Report any oddities, particularly in regards to harmbatonning vs normal batonning. refactor: The method of adjusting item damage mid-attack has been refactored - some affected items include the Nullblade and knives. Report any strange happenings with damage numbers. refactor: A few objects have been moved to the new interaction chain - records consoles, mawed crucible, alien weeds and space vines, hedges, restaurant portals, and some mobs - to name a few. fix: Spears only deal bonus damage against secure lockers, not all closet types (including crates) /🆑 |

You can now interact with held mobs beside wearing them (feat: "minor" melee attack chain cleanup) (#90080)
## About The Pull Request People can now pet held mothroaches and pugs if they want to, or use items on them, hopefully without causing many issues. After all, it only took about a couple dozen lines of code to make... ...Oh, did the 527 files changed or the 850~ lines added/removed perhaps catch your eye? Made you wonder if I accidentally pushed the wrong branch? or skewed something up big time? Well, nuh uh. I just happen to be fed up with the melee attack chain still using stringized params instead of an array/list. It was frankly revolting to see how I'd have had to otherwise call `list2params` for what I'm trying to accomplish here, and make this PR another tessera to the immense stupidity of our attack chain procs calling `params2list` over and over and over instead of just using that one call instance from `ClickOn` as an argument. It's 2025, honey, wake up! I also tried to replace some of those single letter vars/args but there are just way too many of them. ## Why It's Good For The Game Improving old code. And I want to be able to pet mobroaches while holding them too. ## Changelog 🆑 qol: You can now interact with held mobs in more ways beside wearing them. /🆑 |

Adds a recording set up to the Captain's office on all maps, Adds "The Captain Cast" (#89358)
## About The Pull Request On all maps, the captain will find a brand new green screen and camera set up in their quarters This is used to cast the captain's (or anyone's who breaks in) face to all status displays across the station (It will also relay your voice to them) NOTE: Some maps have a stunning lack of evac displays Noticeably **Wawa** has like 10. So these will be less effective on those maps. ## Why It's Good For The Game Gives Captains a more personable way of addressing the crew for impromptu announcements rather than resorting to the announcement computer. Also opens up shenanigans. ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert, Wallem add: Adds recording setups to the Captain's office on all maps, allowing them to project their face to all status displays on the station add: Centcom now has a soundstage for broadcasting to the station. It's besides the Thunderdome. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: Ghom <42542238+Ghommie@users.noreply.github.com> |

Fix various issues with names in string interpolation (#89246)
## About The Pull Request Commit messages should be descriptive of all changes. The "incorrect `\The` macro capitalization" was intentional when it was added, but as far as I know TG says "the supermatter" rather than "The Supermatter," so it's incorrect now. This is completely untested. I don't even know how you'd go about testing this, it's just a fuckton of strings. Someday I want to extract them and run NLP on it to catch grammar problems... ## Why It's Good For The Game Basic grammar pass for name strings. Should make `\the` work better and avoid cases like `the John Smith`. |

Implements datumized embedding handlers in place of element-component-datum triad (#88511)
## About The Pull Request This PR completely rewrites our embedding system in favor of embedding datum handlers which acts as containers for all embedding-related data and logic. Currently embedding logic relies on an element-component-datum triad, where elements on the items handle embedding logic, singleton datums store embedding data and components (which get assigned to ***mobs*** in whom the item embedded) handle pain and the item being ripped out. How do we access all the procs? By using comsigs as procs, which is really bad. This code was written back in 2020 when DCS was hot stuff but in hindsight this implementation was a mistake, as it heavily restricts custom embedding behaviors unless you're willing to constantly run GetComponent (bad, ugly, incarnation of evil) This PR rewrites all that logic to be handled by lazyloaded ``/datum/embedding``, which is stored similarly to current ``/datum/embed_data``. Upon being requested, it is initialized and assigned to a parent from whom all the logic is handled, from being embedded to pain and having the item ripped out. On projectiles this only handles one proc, after which it copies itself down to the shrapnel item instead and runs the chain further from there. Ideally, most embedding-related logic now should be handled purely datum-side - in most cases items should not be hooking up to themselves like they did before (unless said logic is for when the item is made sticky or smth) and instead the code should be handled by the embedding datum (see sholean grapes implementation in this PR). This should allow us to do fancy stuff like syringe guns embedding syringes into targets and injecting them that way, and fix some bugs along the way. Closes #88115 Closes #87946 Also fixed a bug with scars not displaying when examined closely from #86506 because i was in the area anyways |

Wallening [IDB IGNORE] [MDB IGNORE] (#85491)
## What's going on here Kept you waitin huh! This pr resprites most all walls, windows and other "wall adjacent" things to a 3/4th perspective, technical term is "tall" walls (we are very smart). If you're trying to understand the technical details here, much of the "rendering tech" is built off the idea of split-vis. Basically, split a sprite up and render it on adjacent turfs, to prevent seeing "through" walls/doors, and to support seeing "edges" without actually seeing the atom itself. Most of the rest of it is pipelining done to accommodate how icons are cut. ## Path To Merge Almost* all sprites and code is done at this point. There are some things missing both on and off the bounty list, but that will be the case forever unless we force upstream (you guys) to stop adding new shit that doesn't fit the style. I plan on accepting and integrating prs to the current working repo <https://github.com/wall-nerds/wallening> up until a merge, to make contribution simpler and allow things like bounties to close out more easily This pr is quite bulky, even stripping away map changes it's maybe 7000 LOC (We have a few maps that were modified with UpdatePaths, I am also tentatively pring our test map, for future use.) This may inhibit proper review, although that is part of why I am willing to make it despite my perfectionism. Apologies in advance. Due to the perspective shift, a lot of mapping work is going to need to be done at some point. This comes in varying levels of priority. Many wallmounts are offset by hand, some are stuck in the wall/basically cannot be placed on the east/west/north edges of walls (posters), some just don't look great good in their current position. Tests are currently a minor bit yorked, I thought it was more important to get this up then to clean them fully. ## What does it look like? ## Credits <details> <summary>Historical Mumbojumbo</summary> I am gonna do my best to document how this project came to be. I am operating off third party info and half remembered details, so if I'm wrong please yell at me. This project started sometime in late 2020, as a product of Rohesie trying to integrate and make easier work from Mojave Sun (A recently defunct fallout server) with /tg/. Mojave Sun (Apparently this was LITERALLY JUST infrared baron, that man is insane) was working with tall walls, IE walls that are 48px tall instead of the normal 32. This was I THINK done based off a technical prototype from aao7 proving A it was possible and B it didn't look like dogwater. This alongside oranges begging the art team for 3/4th walls (he meant TGMC style) lead to Rohesie bringing on contributors from general /tg/, including actionninja who would eventually take over as technical lead and Kryson, who would define /tg/'s version of the artstyle. Much of the formative aspects of this project are their work. The project was coming along pretty well for a few months, but ran into serious technical issues with `SIDE_MAP`, a byond map_format that allows for simpler 3/4th rendering. Due to BULLSHIT I will not detail here, the map format caused issues both at random with flickering and heavily with multiz. Concurrent with this, action stepped down after hacking out the rendering tech and starting work on an icon cutter that would allow for simpler icon generation, leaving ninjanomnom to manage the project. Some time passed, and the project stalled out due to the technical issues. Eventually I built a test case for the issues we had with `SIDE_MAP` and convinced lummox jr (byond's developer) to explain how the fuckin thing actually worked. This understanding made the project theoretically possible, but did not resolve the problems with multi-z. Resolving those required a full rework of how rendering like, worked. I (alongside tattle) took over project development from ninjanomnom at this time, and started work on Plane Cube (#69115), which when finished would finally make the project technically feasible. The time between then and now has been slow, progressive work. Many many artists and technical folks have dumped their time into this (as you can see from the credits). I will get into this more below but I would like to explicitly thank (in no particular order) tattle, draco, arcanemusic, actionninja, imaginos, viro and kylerace for keeping the project alive in this time period. I would have curled up into a ball and died if I had to do this all myself, your help has been indispensable. </details> <details> <summary>Detailed Credits</summary> Deep apologies if I have forgotten someone (I am sure I have, if someone is you please contact me). Adds a Contraband trait, and implements contraband as a mechanic to security bounties. (#84003)
## About The Pull Request This PR does a few things but centrally it's all centered around mechanically enforcing what items are and are-not considered contraband in-game. ### What does something being contraband MEAN? Contraband items are visually indistinguishable from non-contraband. If an item is Contraband, it can only be detected in two ways: * After being scanned by an N-Spect scanner, which is a standard item security item, assuming it still has a charge to do so. * Via a scanner gate, which can now be upgraded with an N-spect scanner to allow for it to scan a person and all their contents for contraband. ### What items ARE contraband? Contraband items are intended to be determined both logically and through other relevant examine text. However, here's the short list of items that are considered contraband, reserving the right to expand the list. <details> <summary>In hindsight it's kind of a long list.</summary> * Items that have "contraband" or "illegal" in the name or description. * Items that allow for the player to obtain other illegal items, that are NOT particularly stealthy. * This means that a syndicate uplink is NOT considered contraband, as they're typically hidden on your person as something else. * Stealth items under the syndicate uplink, the revolutionary flash, and some mapped in dangerous items that can come from both syndicate and company-aligned resources are not considered dangerous. * Items that are purchased from cargo after emagging or switching to extended cargo range. * Items purchased FROM syndicate uplinks, the wizard knowledge scroll, or other antagonist shops. * Cursed artifacts/tools magically produced by cultists or heretics. * Items purchased from the blackmarket. * Items purchased from the contraband section of vending machines. * Some drugs and overtly dangerous or criminal byproducts. </details> ### How does this interact with the round? Well, primarily, this is an aid for in-game enforcement of space law. Based on the length of the above list, we have a LONG, LONG list of items in-game that are technically considered, in one way or another, illegal to have on the station, and yet without either metaknowledge of what those items are, or how they're used, security officers lack some of the certainty of how to deal with these kinds of encounters. Additionally to the knowledge aspect of this trait, security officers may now receive a new civilian bounty to collect items that are considered contraband, also giving them an incentive to look for and confiscate contraband that's been found across the station while upholding space law. ### Other minor changes that I rolled into this Security has a bounty for 3 different rechargers, and considering access limitations, most security players aren't going to make this exchange, so I've lowered the required amount down to 1. Adjusted the N-spect scanner's description to match it's new functionality. The Civilian bounty TGUI now has an additional 1 point of padding to make it feel less cramped. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/assets/41715314/c3cd4752-b03a-4e0b-959e-1252fcc2369d **Updated as of 6/19/2024:** Additionally, some storage items will block the presence of contraband when going through a contraband aligned scanning gate. These items include the infiltrator modsuit core, storage implant, void cloak, the aptly named smuggler's satchel, and the chameleon kit's backpack. **Updated as of 6/23/2024:** N-spect scanner now has contextual screentips. **Updated as of 6/29/2024:** Scanner gates are now available in all lathes that have a feature specific to how scanner gates function. So, includes cargo (contraband), security (weapons), and medbay (diseases). ## Why It's Good For The Game Originally, this started out as a way to be able to provide more in-character and in-flavor bounties for security officers, because they suck! Most security bounties as they exist right now do the worst possible things from all respective bounties: * They detract away from a job's actual responsibilities as opposed to working with them. * They're best completed while sitting next to your lathe and running items back to the bounty pad. * They exist with such esoteric rarity of high quantity of items that it's miserable to fulfil. As a result, I started work on this as a framework to allow security officers to be further incentivized to collect contraband across the station, either as a result of the gamemode or just through routine patrols across the station. Implementing it as a learning tool for security as well just happened to work out as an additional bonus, and having a function in-game allowing newer or less experienced players to know if an item is considered dangerous or conspicuous also works as a particularly good way to provide information where a player may not know what they're up against. If nothing else, this might be interesting to try, and if not, I'll just snip out the QOL changes from it and we'll see how it goes. Going forward, I am a bit hesitant about the contraband scanner gate mode, and as such, will try working with the admin team to determine if that's a good feature to keep around for game health, while hoping to give it a chance in the fullness of time. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Items spawned via traitor uplinks or are known illegal contraband on the station can now be scanned and identified as such by the N-spect scanners in security. These only applies to overt traitor or antagonist items, and "stealth" items will not be seen as such. add: Scanner gates can now be upgraded by using an N-spect scanner on it to unlock "contraband scanning" mode. add: Security officers can now be offered a bounty to turn in pieces of contraband. add: Some stealthy storage items like storage implants, smuggler's satchels, void cloaks, the infiltrator modsuit, and the chameleon backpack will block the presence of contraband on your person when placed inside. qol: N-spect scanner contextual screentips. balance: Recharger security bounties ask for a quantity of 1, down from 3. qol: security, cargo, and medbay have access to scanner gate boards. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: MrMelbert <51863163+MrMelbert@users.noreply.github.com> |

Regal Rats can now tear down posters (#82673)
## About The Pull Request i was fixing something on bagil and someone who was playing a regal rat (after the round ended) said they wanted to be able to tear down posters as a regal rat so i decided to code it because it made sense. it's an element so literally any mob can tear down posters but i can't think of any other mobs that would make sense to let it tear down posters so we'll leave it just for _The Champion of All Mislaid Creatures_ for now ## Why It's Good For The Game Regal Rats should be all about sludgemaxxing and fucking up maintenance to make it look even more grody than it should be. Being able to tear up those disgusting and well-drawn posters to leave behind nothing but scraps fits that motif. The element has a `do_after()` just to make sure His Holiness doesn't accidentally tear down his posters while clicking (i think all mobs should have this but that's a different issue man) also includes some code improvement and user feedback in some failure cases that already existed in the code. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Regal Rats are now able to tear down those colorful posters those weird grey creatures keep spackling up on the walls of their rightful domain. /🆑 |

Posters return to your hand when cut down/not hung up, abductor posters more resilient to wirecutters (#81924)
## About The Pull Request Posters now drop into your hand when you cancel the hanging process, or snip them down with wirecutters. If they can't drop into your hands, they go to the floor. Oh, also, this makes it so that abductor wirecutters (or any wirecutters with a toolspeed better than 0.2 in case of varedits/future additions) are too weak to cut down abductor posters. ## Why It's Good For The Game Posters getting dropped to the ground when cancelling the hanging process has always really annoyed me and I want it to not happen anymore. If you want to get those unsightly abductor posters out of your department you'll have to loot the abductor scientist first (or just take the wall down but that's admitting defeat). ## Changelog 🆑 Rhials qol: Posters now return to your hand when the hanging process is cancelled, or they are snipped down. qol: Abductor posters can now only be cut down with abductor-tier wirecutters. /🆑 |

Adds a small cafeteria behind the right wing shutters of the museum. (#81465)
## About The Pull Request I was thinking to contribute something to the new away mission map to make it better. Mapping and all takes too much time for me, so I could do little. Though it comes with its own unique gimmicks. To reach the cafeteria, one has to complete a couple puzzles. The first set is opened by inputing the correct PIN on the password panel beside it. There're several clues to help you guess this fairly easy puzzle, in the form of several number graffitis, a scrapped piece of paper full of numbers, and a board filled with colored dots also found just beside the panel. The second one is opened by a keycard, and is generally lazier. To find it, you'll need to do a bit of (toilet) searching. As for the unique things this PR adds: - A fire extinguisher... that actually contains welding fuel - A (dirt-cheap) hotdog vending machine* - A completely ornamental maneki-neko (that's the name of the luck-bringing, paw-waving cat figurine) - A piggy bank that carries money between rounds. It has a cap of 10k credits worth of holochips, cash and coins, which is pretty high, but I'm confident people will just destroy it for its contents the moment they find it. His name is Pigston Swinelord VI. - More, totally legit and not actually fake bombable walls :^) *By the by, you can also find it during the national hotdog day. Screenshots of the new location: ## Why It's Good For The Game You know how most away missions are not that special at all? Yeah, @mc-oofert set an example of a pretty decent one actually, if not a tad small. I thought it could use a touch of another mind actually contributing to it too, because it deserves it. Also, this sets the basis for other persistent piggy banks. I don't think they should all have that 10k cap like this one, perhaps 1k is enough. Beside, the code that mothblocks did for json database datum is pretty good, so there is not a whole lot of shitcode here. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Added a cafeteria to the museum away mission, with a few special things to it. To reach it, you'll have to complete a couple puzzles however. map: The museum away mission now has a couple restrooms. add: Hotdog vending machines may spawn during the National Hot Dog Day. /🆑 |

Changes the description of mothic rations poster (lore pr) (very important) (#79440)
## About The Pull Request Swaps windgrass for sparkweed in the description of the mothing rations poster ## Why It's Good For The Game EOB asked me to change this since windgrass was meant to be a similar future addition but we have more fleshed out lore for sparkweed now See here for more information https://github.com/tgstation/common_core/pull/44 🆑 spellcheck: The Mothic Rations Chart poster description now mentions Sparkweed Cigarettes rather than Windgrass /🆑 |

Dunking handle_atom_del() in the trash bin. (#77339)
Whatever you do, if it warrants the use of something like `handle_atom_del`, chances are `Exited` can do it better, as most of these cases involve movables that shouldn't be moved out of their loc (`Destroy` forcefully moves movables to nullspace) without calling specific procs, and for the remaining few, `handle_atom_del` doesn't even cover the eventuality of a movable being deleted outside the source atom, so it's quite garbage. Beside, I feel confident in saying `handle_atom_del()` is older than the DCS, an echo on the workarounds done at the time. |

Gives abductors three new equipment shop purchase options, splits up abductor_gear.dm (#76101)
## About The Pull Request Three new items have been added to the abductor credit store. One carries concrete utility, with the other two being useful for pranking/mind games. The first is an alien hypertool with toolsets for either hacking or surgery equipment. Toggle by right-clicking the item in your hand! This can be an equipment upgrade, or replacement, for either member of the team. It costs 2 research credits to purchase. Also on the list of new stuff to buy (and stuff shown in the gif above) -- You can spend extra points on abductorized versions of existing posters. They can be used as decoration, or to troll and assert dominance over the crew. You can also buy a cow. It comes with some wheat. Now, let's talk about all of the impulsive code changes I made while making this PR: - abduction_gear.dm has been split up into abductor_clothing.dm, abductor_items.dm, and abductor_structures.dm because the file was getting huge and I didn't want to make it bigger. - There is now a runtime prevention check for trying to probe non-humanoid subjects (like a cow). - The abductor shop now uses defines for its categories, and uses lists for build paths similarly to cargo crates. Lastly, to facilitate the hanging of posters on the abductor ship, posters can now be placed on indestructible walls. The code associated with hanging posters (/turf/closed/wall/proc/place_poster) has been moved to the /turf/closed level. The scope of this PR kind of spiraled out of control with the file splitting and the change to indestructible walls, I'm hoping it isn't too much. As for the spritework, most of it was done through the cannibalization and recycling of other, existing sprites. Things may not look good (I'm a coder not a spriter!) and I am open to interjections on what can be improved. ## Why It's Good For The Game The hypertool allows for both the scientist and agent to replace their lost tools (with the same toolspeed), as well as upgrade their current toolset if they have the spare points. Many use cases, all for the same 2 credit package. The posters, while providing no mechanical advantage, are a nice decoration (for an otherwise cramped, totally undecoratable ship) or way of rubbing your success in the noses of the crew. The cow is a dual-purpose psychological support/hindrance tool. He can keep you from getting lonely on the mothership, or be beamed down to the crew to annoy them. Each of these are luxury items that give thriving abductor teams something to spend their excess credits on. ## Changelog 🆑 add: The abductor equipment vendor now offers a hacking/medical hypertool, at a price of 2 research points. add: The abductor equipment vendor now sells decorative abductor posters, at a price of 1 research point. add: The abductor equipment vendor now sells a cow, at the price of 1 research point. fix: Fixes a runtime when trying to probe non-human mobs. image: Some abductorized versions of existing wall posters and an alien hypertool. code: The abductor shop listings now use lists of items, rather than single build paths. code: The abductor_gear.dm file has been split up into a few different files. code: Posters can now be hung on indestructible walls. /🆑 |

Sorts out posters.dm into its own files (where applicable) (#75757)
## About The Pull Request Title. ## Why It's Good For The Game Yeah, uhh, posters.dm was over 1k lines long. I cut it put, put it in its own folder, and now everything is split between contraband.dm, official.dm, and whatever misc/code was left in posters.dm and moved to the folder. ## Changelog 🆑 Jolly code: The code for posters has been split among three files. If you see something weird, please report it. fix: Fixed the single tank poster using the wrong typepath for its mapping dir. /🆑 |
