General maintenance for wall mounts (#93534)
## About The Pull Request - Fixes #93392 - Replaces all custom callbacks with call to `deconstruct()`. The callbacks weren't necessary as it did the same thing as `deconstruct()` but in an round about way - Removed duplicate `Initialize()` procs and the params `building` & `ndir` from all wall mounts. Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
## About The Pull Request Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it, `attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the resulting attack This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not unarmed attacks. This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for swing combat). ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert refactor: Batons have been refactored again. Baton stuns now properly count as an attack, when before it was a nothing. Report any oddities, particularly in regards to harmbatonning vs normal batonning. refactor: The method of adjusting item damage mid-attack has been refactored - some affected items include the Nullblade and knives. Report any strange happenings with damage numbers. refactor: A few objects have been moved to the new interaction chain - records consoles, mawed crucible, alien weeds and space vines, hedges, restaurant portals, and some mobs - to name a few. fix: Spears only deal bonus damage against secure lockers, not all closet types (including crates) /🆑 |

Holding your PDA up to a camera actually works again. Kind of. (#91156)
Holding a PDA up to a camera is supposed to notify the AI and let them click a button to see your notepad contents. This, however, didn't actually _work_, because it was using the wrong topic calls; it's supposed to be `show_tablet_note`, not `show_tablet` and especially not `last_shown_paper`. There's still several other minor to major bugs with this same system that this pr doesn't address, but this is the most glaring one given, well, it's the one that stops it from working entirely in the first place. |

You can now interact with held mobs beside wearing them (feat: "minor" melee attack chain cleanup) (#90080)
## About The Pull Request People can now pet held mothroaches and pugs if they want to, or use items on them, hopefully without causing many issues. After all, it only took about a couple dozen lines of code to make... ...Oh, did the 527 files changed or the 850~ lines added/removed perhaps catch your eye? Made you wonder if I accidentally pushed the wrong branch? or skewed something up big time? Well, nuh uh. I just happen to be fed up with the melee attack chain still using stringized params instead of an array/list. It was frankly revolting to see how I'd have had to otherwise call `list2params` for what I'm trying to accomplish here, and make this PR another tessera to the immense stupidity of our attack chain procs calling `params2list` over and over and over instead of just using that one call instance from `ClickOn` as an argument. It's 2025, honey, wake up! I also tried to replace some of those single letter vars/args but there are just way too many of them. ## Why It's Good For The Game Improving old code. And I want to be able to pet mobroaches while holding them too. ## Changelog 🆑 qol: You can now interact with held mobs in more ways beside wearing them. /🆑 |

Adds a notification to silicon/drones being watched (#90471)
## About The Pull Request Cyborgs now have an alert that shows when someone is watching their internal camera through a security camera console. SyndEye is excluded from this as it's spying instead. Made as an alternative to https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/90410 but they also aren't mutually exclusive, though I have the same fix for borg camera cutting in this one too. https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5dfe92f8-8948-4a80-bb64-cbeaca4f80e0 ##### This is part of the same code bounty as https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/90410 ## Why It's Good For The Game Pretty much the same reason this PR is an alternative to, it's hard for borgs to get away with doing antagonist stuff when people are able to silently watch them at any point from any console or laptop laying around the station, of which there are many. Refactor for drone holder loving component (#87239)
## About The Pull Request Refactors `/datum/component/holderloving` as a whole. It was registering a lot of unnecessary signals and was doing too much in general(vars like `can_transfer` simply isn't required) Fixes https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/87131#issuecomment-2403284265 properly by adding an extra `newloc` argument to `temporarilyRemoveItemFromInventory()` which simply hints where we want to move the object without actually removing it from the player. New Syndicate Stealth MODule: Wraith. (#86449)
## About The Pull Request Introduces a new MODule in the uplink, makes the user transperent and grants the ability to siphon light sources to recharge your suit. Ingame demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhXNOAMDy4U ## Why It's Good For The Game I've been playing a ton of Splinter Cell and Intravenous recently and this random idea popped in my head. "Wouldn't it be cool if traitors could blend in the darkness to get a jump on their opponents?" Also unrelated "Wouldn't it be cool if tots had a tool to recharge their suit that didn't involve sitting in a pod for 10 minutes?" This PR introduces a new module to the uplink, the Wraith. It comes with a passive and active component. Passively it works exactly like the crew version of the cloaking module with just a couple of differences. 1) Doesn't need to be manually activated, if you lose the cloak it's regained after 5 seconds. 2) Lower stealth alpha value( how trasperent you are basically), slightly less visible than the crew version, not as good the ninja module however , I tuned it just enough so that you are more or less undetectable in the dark. The active component of the module lets you destroy stationary lights to recharge your suit power, if used on handheld or borg lights it turns them off for a minute. **Why do we need this module when we already have the stealth implant and the chameleon projector?** I can think of a few reasons. 1) MODsuits were designed to be customizible, traitor suits range between 6 to 16 TC, having to invest in a 7-8 TC item after you already bought a suit is fairly expensive. 2) This MODule would be a better fit for ambushes, as it doesn't have the *uncloaking* delay of its counterparts. It is however considerably worse if you get caught, as the cloak is disrupted on bump or damage. 3) It has better interactions with the sandbox. Lights can go out for many reasons, maybe it’s just a power outage, or some assistant broke it, or maybe it was anightmare. It leaves room for plausible deniability, adding to the paranoia. It's also not complete invisibility, if you want to stay undetected you need to lurk in the darkness, you might expand your domain, at the cost of the crew eventually wising up to your shaeneningans. Lastly, since the active component of the module uses the same proc of the saboteur handgun, I've updated the code to be a generic proc rather than a signal, to make it easier to reuse in the future. Splits wall layer into three (#85901)
## About The Pull Request Turns `ON_WALL_LAYER` into `FLAT_ON_WALL_LAYER` `ON_WALL_LAYER` `HIGH_ON_WALL_LAYER` Where `FLAT_ON_WALL_LAYER` is meant for lower-priority wall mounts like signs and posters `ON_WALL_LAYER` is default and `HIGH_ON_WALL_LAYER` is for stuff that "hang over" the wall Also makes the incident display actually wall mounted ## Why It's Good For The Game I noticed this while doing mapping and I thought it was a really cool effect  Unfortunately this effect was a coinflip because all wall mounts were on the same layer. Sometimes it'd look like this  So this allows us to do this kinda stuff consistently. Also has the added effect of letting us "de-prioritize" stuff like posters, so we can hang stuff *over* posters and signs, which could be useful. ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert qol: Some wall mounts will now consistently layer over others (light switches and cameras, notably, should always layer above other mounts like signs and status displays) /🆑 |

Wallening [IDB IGNORE] [MDB IGNORE] (#85491)
## What's going on here Kept you waitin huh! This pr resprites most all walls, windows and other "wall adjacent" things to a 3/4th perspective, technical term is "tall" walls (we are very smart). If you're trying to understand the technical details here, much of the "rendering tech" is built off the idea of split-vis. Basically, split a sprite up and render it on adjacent turfs, to prevent seeing "through" walls/doors, and to support seeing "edges" without actually seeing the atom itself. Most of the rest of it is pipelining done to accommodate how icons are cut. ## Path To Merge Almost* all sprites and code is done at this point. There are some things missing both on and off the bounty list, but that will be the case forever unless we force upstream (you guys) to stop adding new shit that doesn't fit the style. I plan on accepting and integrating prs to the current working repo <https://github.com/wall-nerds/wallening> up until a merge, to make contribution simpler and allow things like bounties to close out more easily This pr is quite bulky, even stripping away map changes it's maybe 7000 LOC (We have a few maps that were modified with UpdatePaths, I am also tentatively pring our test map, for future use.) This may inhibit proper review, although that is part of why I am willing to make it despite my perfectionism. Apologies in advance. Due to the perspective shift, a lot of mapping work is going to need to be done at some point. This comes in varying levels of priority. Many wallmounts are offset by hand, some are stuck in the wall/basically cannot be placed on the east/west/north edges of walls (posters), some just don't look great good in their current position. Tests are currently a minor bit yorked, I thought it was more important to get this up then to clean them fully. ## What does it look like?       ## Credits <details> <summary>Historical Mumbojumbo</summary> I am gonna do my best to document how this project came to be. I am operating off third party info and half remembered details, so if I'm wrong please yell at me. This project started sometime in late 2020, as a product of Rohesie trying to integrate and make easier work from Mojave Sun (A recently defunct fallout server) with /tg/. Mojave Sun (Apparently this was LITERALLY JUST infrared baron, that man is insane) was working with tall walls, IE walls that are 48px tall instead of the normal 32. This was I THINK done based off a technical prototype from aao7 proving A it was possible and B it didn't look like dogwater. This alongside oranges begging the art team for 3/4th walls (he meant TGMC style) lead to Rohesie bringing on contributors from general /tg/, including actionninja who would eventually take over as technical lead and Kryson, who would define /tg/'s version of the artstyle. Much of the formative aspects of this project are their work. The project was coming along pretty well for a few months, but ran into serious technical issues with `SIDE_MAP`, a byond map_format that allows for simpler 3/4th rendering. Due to BULLSHIT I will not detail here, the map format caused issues both at random with flickering and heavily with multiz. Concurrent with this, action stepped down after hacking out the rendering tech and starting work on an icon cutter that would allow for simpler icon generation, leaving ninjanomnom to manage the project. Some time passed, and the project stalled out due to the technical issues. Eventually I built a test case for the issues we had with `SIDE_MAP` and convinced lummox jr (byond's developer) to explain how the fuckin thing actually worked. This understanding made the project theoretically possible, but did not resolve the problems with multi-z. Resolving those required a full rework of how rendering like, worked. I (alongside tattle) took over project development from ninjanomnom at this time, and started work on Plane Cube (#69115), which when finished would finally make the project technically feasible. The time between then and now has been slow, progressive work. Many many artists and technical folks have dumped their time into this (as you can see from the credits). I will get into this more below but I would like to explicitly thank (in no particular order) tattle, draco, arcanemusic, actionninja, imaginos, viro and kylerace for keeping the project alive in this time period. Arrivals docks directly in the middle of the station next to Upper Service, so bar might get more traffic. Not much different than normal Service, but janitors closet is also present here, he sleeps on the floor. We do not talk about the janitor. Above Bar is Library and Hydroponics with an overlook to look at bar. The Theater has a big curtain and a podium directly in the bar. 29.3.2024  **Civilian** - Also in the center of the station, next to bar. There isnt much to talk about dorms, its pretty normal. **Cargo** - Absence of chutes that go to departments, reminder that mail sorting is a thing. Cargo bay is a big open area with a boutique/shop facing primary hall that starts closed, and Cargo has its own crate elevator. Theres upper Cargo where mining, bitrunning and a secure warehouse is located (There may be a murder scene). The quartermasters office spans two z-levels and is relatively compact. Not much else different from regular cargo. ~~Oh also the QM starts with an empty PML-9 and a mostly functional rocket~~ 29.3.2024  **Medical** - Large centralized medbay, also two z-levels. There is a public waiting room with triage and a reception. There is also an inner elevator for the crippled. There are two medbay-access patient rooms that are unrestricted from the inside, and two operating rooms. Medbay has its own rad shelter. HoP has an open stall facing primary hall, ~~and maybe a piano trapdoor~~ pretty classic bridge, Captain does not get his own office but gets a really comfortable quarters with his own emergency mass ejection for abandoning ship. The council meeting room is present above bridge, with ERT Ferry dock docking inside adjacent to the council room. **Security** - Mostly bottom z level security. Very compact brig cells, and a meeting room that everyone that is related to security may spawn in if youre lucky. Warden has a weapon handout point facing the inner security hall and the equipment room. Reeducation chamber has a shocked grille treadmill. HoS and Warden Room and armory are on the upper z-level, and warden has a VERY good overlook over permabrig. Armory is seperated into nonlethal to mostly nonlethal and lethal. 29.3.2024  **Science** - Also pretty centralized, breakroom with a smoking corner, two z levels and a big overlook. RD office overlooks toxins and bomb site. Genetics and RD Office is on the upper floor, with a science exclusive monkey exhibit. Xenobio is thick due to proximity to bomb site, otherwise normal. 29.3.2024  **AI Sat** - Okay at this point assume any department is multiz. The antechamber is an elevator and the turrets are on said elevator. The elevator may be sent to the top level by engineers, where the AI core is. Telecomms is on the bottom level, and AI core is above it. Contains a borg entertainment room, and also the upload. The elevator being raised is necessary to properly enter AI Room. **Engineering** - Contains a less stale but still average and less than optimal SM setup. Prone to catastrophic disaster. The SM Room is two levels and very open, and CE has a trapdoor directly into the shard. Turbine is above atmospherics, so is the crystallizer. The HFR and main atmos and distribution room are on the bottom level. Piped by **Kendra Hunter**. Removes unused code for HTML UIs (#82589)
## About The Pull Request This is the final PR for https://hackmd.io/XLt5MoRvRxuhFbwtk4VAUA that I've been slowly inching towards the past few months. This removes ``updateDialog``, ``updateUsrDialog``, ``IN_USE``, ``INTERACT_MACHINE_SET_MACHINE``, and everything surrounding it. Also fixes advanced camera consoles not booting you off when you're moved out of reach. We called ``check_eye`` on mob life whenever they had their machine var set, but their machine var would never be set to anything that actually used it, which I found to be a little funny but was also probably my fault. ## Why It's Good For The Game This is poor and unmaintained code used for HTML UIs that we no longer need thanks to TGUI, we should get rid of it to encourage the use of TGUI in the future instead. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Advanced camera consoles now boots you off when you're moved out of reach. /🆑 |

## About The Pull Request Fixes #82440 This PR just creates a new macro, `LOWER_TEXT()` (yes the irony is not lost on me) to wrap around all calls of `lowertext()` and ensure that whatever we input into that proc will be stringified using the `"[]"` (or `tostring()` for the nerds) operator. very simple. I also added a linter to enforce this (and prevent all forms of regression) because I think that machines should do the menial work and we shouldn't expect maintainers to remember this, let me know if you disagree. if there is a time when it should be opted out for some reason, the linter does respect it if you wrap your input with the `UNLINT()` function. |

LateInitialize is not allowed to call parent anymore (#82540)
## About The Pull Request I've seen a few cases in the past where LateInitialize is done cause of the init return value being set to do so for no real reason, I thought I should try to avoid that by ensuring LateInitialize isn't ever called without overriding. This fixes a ton of machine's LateInitialize not calling parent (mechpad, door buttons, message monitor, a lot of tram machines, abductor console, holodeck computer & disposal bin), avoiding having to set itself up to be connected to power. If they were intended to not connect to power, they should be using ``NO_POWER_USE`` instead. Also removes a ton of returns to LateInit when it's already getting it from parent regardless (many cases of that in machine code). ## Why It's Good For The Game I think this is better for coding standard reasons as well as just making sure we're not calling this proc on things that does absolutely nothing with them. A machine not using power can be seen evidently not using power with ``NO_POWER_USE``, not so much if it's LateInitialize not calling parent. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Mech pads, door buttons, message monitors, tram machines, abductor consoles & holodeck computers now use power. /🆑 |

Standardizes object deconstruction throughout the codebase. (#82280)
## About The Pull Request When it comes to deconstructing an object we have `proc/deconstruct()` & `NO_DECONSTRUCT` Lets talk about the flag first. **Problems with `NO_DECONSTRUCTION`** I know what the comment says on what it should do https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/__DEFINES/obj_flags.dm#L18 But everywhere people have decided to give their own meaning/definition to this flag. Here are some examples on how this flag is used **1. Make the object just disappear(not drop anything) when deconstructed** This is by far the largest use case everywhere. If an object is deconstructed(either via tools or smashed apart) then if it has this flag it should not drop any of its contents but just disappear. You have seen this code pattern used everywhere https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/game/machinery/constructable_frame.dm#L26-L31 This behaviour is then leveraged by 2 important components. When an object is frozen, if it is deconstructed it should just disappear without leaving any traces behind https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/datums/elements/frozen.dm#L66-L67 By hologram objects. Obviously if you destroy an hologram nothing real should drop out https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/modules/holodeck/computer.dm#L301-L304 And there are other use cases as well but we won't go into them as they aren't as significant as these. **2. To stop an object from being wrenched ??** Yeah this one is weird. Like why? I understand in some instances (chair, table, rack etc) a wrench can be used to deconstruct a object so using the flag there to stop it from happening makes sense but why can't we even anchor an object just because of this flag? https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/game/objects/objs.dm#L368-L369 This is one of those instances where somebody just decided this behaviour for their own convenience just like the above example with no explanation as to why **3. To stop using tools to deconstruct the object** This was the original intent of the flag but it is enforced in few places far & between. Because if you look at its deconstruct proc the flag also prevents the machine from spawning a frame. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/game/machinery/_machinery.dm#L820-L822 How can 1 flag serve 2 purposes within the same type? **4. Simply forget to check for this flag altogether** Yup if you find this flag not doing its job for some objects don't be surprised. People & sometimes even maintainers just forget that it even exists https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/b5593bc6930cb60803214869a7b94c84e7baa02c/code/game/objects/items/piggy_bank.dm#L66-L67 **Solution** These are the main examples i found. As you can see the same flag can perform 2 different functions within the same type and do something else in a different object & in some instances don't even work cause people just forget, etc. In order to bring consistency to this flag we need to move it to the atom level where it means the same thing everywhere. Where in the atom you may ask? .Well, I'll just post what MrMelbert said in https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/81656#discussion_r1503086862 > ...Ideally the .deconstruct call would handle NO_DECONSTRUCTION handling as it wants, Yup that's the ideal case now. This flag is checked directly in `deconstruct()`. Now like i said we want to give a universal definition to this flag and as you have seen from my examples it is used in 3 cases 1) Make an object disappear(doesn't dropping anything) when deconstructed 2) Stop it from being wrenched 3) Stop it from being deconstructed via tools We can't enforce points 2 & 3 inside `deconstruct()` which leaves us with only case 1) i.e. make the object disappear. And that's what i have done. Therefore after more than a decade or since this flag got introduced `NO_DECONSTRUCT` now has a new definition as of 2024 _"Make an object disappear(don't dropping anything) when deconstructed either via tools or forcefully smashed apart"_ Now i very well understand this will open up bugs in places where cases 2 & 3 are required but its worth it. In fact they could even be qol changes for all we know so who knows it might even benefit us but for now we need to give a universal definition to this flag to bring some consistency & that's what this PR does. **Problem with deconstruct()** This proc actually sends out a signal which is currently used by the material container but could be used by other objects later on. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/3e84c3e6dad33c831ac259f52f2f023680e4899b/code/game/objects/obj_defense.dm#L160 So objects that override this proc should call its parent. Sadly that isn't the case in many instances like such https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/3e84c3e6dad33c831ac259f52f2f023680e4899b/code/game/machinery/deployable.dm#L20-L23 Instead of `return ..()` which would delete the object & send the signal it deletes the object directly thus the signal never gets sent. **Solution** Make this proc non overridable. For objects to add their own custom deconstruction behaviour a new proc has been introduced `atom_deconstruct()` Subtypes should now override this proc to handle object deconstruction. If objects have certain important stuff inside them (like mobs in machines for example) they want to drop by handling `NO_DECONSTRUCT` flag in a more carefully customized way they can do this by overriding `handle_deconstruct()` which by default delegates to `atom_deconstruct()` if the `NO_DECONSTRUCT` flag is absent. Removes camera assembly structures (#81656)
## About The Pull Request Removes the camera assembly structure middleman between the camera wallframe and camera machine. All its behavior has been instead moved to the camera, and I've tried to keep as much of the behavior the same as before. This also fixes the issue that camera assemblies had where, upon the construction being finished, it would move itself into the newly finished camera machine, therefore taking itself off a wall, therefore deconstructing itself. This resulted in 2 piece of iron being in each camera machine (except roundstart ones), and because camera machines rely on the assembly inside of them for upgrades and such, upgrading didn't work at all. I've also made camera nets use defines (not in map) so it's easier to find a list of them all, and tried to add autodoc comments to nearly every var in camera code. ## Why It's Good For The Game Removes copy paste and spaghetti code between structure and machine camera, thus making it easier to work around with. Buffs the SC/FISHER Saboteur Handgun. (#81553)
## About The Pull Request The saboteur gun will now silence pAIs, toggle off radio broadcasting (won't auto-relay nearby speech), disable turrets, chill out secbots a little, and turn off APCs like power outages do. The disrupt duration has also been buffed from 10/20 to 15/25 for ranged and point-blank respectively. Removed a conspicious chat message from an otherwise inconspicious gun. Brought the code up to date. ## Why It's Good For The Game The concept is cool, alas it's also undermined by how much of a joke it's right now, and the game has plenty already. The amount of interactions it has with things is underwhelming, so you could barely consider it a stealth tool. The duration is also quite scarce, I pointed that out in the original PR too. Basically, I want to make the item cooler. ## Changelog 🆑 balance: Buffed the duration of the SC/FISHER Saboteur Handgun's disruption effects. New station trait job: Human AI (#81681)
## About The Pull Request This PR does many things, I'll try to explain the basic/background stuff to the main thing first: 1. Adds a new remote that allows a human to function like an AI. It controls a fly that will fly around the station slowly, and when it reaches a machine then the person can interact with it as if they were an AI. This required changing a lot of silicon/AI checks with one that also checks for this remote, and some messing with shared ui state. 2. Moves req_access from the obj and bot to ``/atom/movable`` which lets it be shared between the two, no more copy-paste and one side lacking features/checks/signals the other has. 3. Adds a check for AI config for AI-related station traits, which was lacking prior Now for the good part... Adds a new station trait that replaces the AI with a Human. This person is equipped with an AI headset (including Binary), an advanced camera console, an omni door wand, the machine controller, and their laws. They are immune to the SAT's turrets (even if set to target borgs) and are slow outside of the SAT, mimicing the actions of the AI. They interact with the world through their advanced camera console, which allows them to do most AI stuff needed, and the holopad they can connect to without having to ring first (like Command can). They are given a paper with the laws they must follow, but since they are human they are able to bend it. Cyborgs that run the default lawset are "slaved" to them via an unremovable law 0, so the Human AI can bend the laws if they really need to (for their own survival n such), and make the cyborgs obey their commands above laws, but in general this shouldn't be a frequent occurrence. This does take into account the unique AI trait, so it's not guaranteed Asimov. When this station trait rolls, all Intellicards, AI uploads, and AI core boards are destroyed and are unresearchable. They can be spawned by admins in-game if necessary. Maybe in the future we can also exclude Oldstation from this but I haven't really decided. Extra perks: Human AI spawns with a Robotic voicebox (unless they are a body purist) and teleport blocking implant, so they can't use teleporters to bypass their on-station slowdown. They also have an infinite laser pointer that can be used to blind through their camera console. This is unfortunately nerfed from the recent borg balance PR that removed its stun. This was meant to be the alternative to no longer being able to permanently lock borgs down like AIs can (or more than one, for that matter). They aren't affected by Roburgers, Acid, and Fuel's toxicity. Bots salute them like they do Beepsky (which is now a trait) They spawn with SyndEye to replace the AI's tracking ability They do not have a bank account ### The machine remote The machine remote has a little fly in it that flies to the machines it is pointed to, working as the arms and legs of the Human AI. It scans the machine and punches in the action the AI does, and is how the AI accesses basically anything. This fly slowly moves from one machine to the next, and can be recalled with Alt Click. This makes it a reality, and while they aren't as powerful as regular AIs, I think it makes for better and funnier in-game moments. With the same weight as Cargorilla (1), I hope this wouldn't be rolling too often and ruin rounds, but instead show off the different capabilities that Humans and AIs can do, to do the job of an AI. Makes AI tracking more snappy, improves API (AI movement change) (#81401)
## About The Pull Request Ok so tracking (from the datum) worked, but when used to follow someone it had a noticable delay from the datum needing to wait for process to fire to do its work This would be an expensive proc to run constantly, but we don't really have to (there are not that many ai eyes in the world). So rather then only processing to keep step, let's track the target mob by its movement, and then fall back on a process loop to handle rechecking in case of camera memes. This does technically mean you won't "break" the track if the cameras go out until the tracked mob moves, but I think that's a reasonable price to pay for more responsive movement. I think I could make our current system work with it too, though it would be a bit more wasteful. John if you have opinions just lay into me. I've also renamed/pulled apart the helper procs for the trackable datum, with the hope of making how they are used more understandable at a glance Oh and rather then holding a weakref since I needed MOVED anyway I just use QDELETING to free the ref if the mob goes away ### Edit: #### Glide size touchups Implements glide size mirroring so we move at the same speed as our target Also moves the existing signal to send to the trackable datum itself, as appears intended from the doc comment #### AI behavior changes Rewrites ai movement to be less dumb OK so 2 things here. One is a behavior change, the other is a visual QOL thing. The way ai movement works is we move graduated "steps". Either moving 1, 2, or 3 steps per tick. We do this by, so long as input is held down, incrementing a number called "sprint" Currently it'll go from 10 to 50 (formula effectively looks like steps = (sprint / 20) + 1)) Anyway, this is... not fine but ok, but the way we handle deceleration is ass IMO. It's literally just wait 0.5 seconds and sprint resets. I think this feels crummy, so instead I've made it decay depending on how long you go between inputs, at 7x greater rate then it increases. That's the behavior change. Visual change is a lot easier. Ais were not gliding properly. They assumed they had 4 ticks to move a tile, rather then 1. This meant they'd jump around constantly, to catch up to where we expect them to be. I've fixed this by giving them 1 tick instead. Should feel a lot better ## Why It's Good For The Game Snappier response times, cleaner code ## Changelog 🆑 add: AI's acceleration now smoothly decays, instead of just falling back down to 0 after 0.5 seconds fix: AI's standard movement (non accelerated) is smooth now, instead of constantly jumping around fix: AIs will now follow their targets more closely, shouldn't have any issues with them lagging behind anymore /🆑 |

Refactors how machines are deconstructed (#81291)
## About The Pull Request This refactors how machines are deconstructed in the following ways - You can no longer override `obj/machinery/deconstruct()`. If you want customized behaviour then override `on_deconstruction()` instead. This comes with the added benifit of no longer needing to check for the `NO_DECONSTRUCTION` flag because the machine base proc does that for us & if it finds that flag it won't proceed to call `on_deconstruction()` meaning no machine will have a chance to spawn anything which is the current behaviour. This is required to make #81290 work for all machines at least so that machine can send the `COMSIG_OBJ_DECONSTRUCT` signal without subtypes overriding & forgetting to call the parent proc - `dump_contents()` only gets called when the machine is deconstructed not destroyed thus not leaving behind any of its contents inside. Optimizes Reftracking (Bigly) (Plus harddel fixes) (#80443)
## About The Pull Request ### Reftracking BS Alllright so reftracking is slow, really really slow. That's a problem for me, both because I want it to be fast so I can more efficiently torture players by running it on live, but also because it impedes both local and CI runs. So I've set out to micro optimize the DoSearchVar proc, one of the hottest in the game. I've done this in a few different ways. #### The simple shit Removing redundant proc args Yeeting assoc arg setting (extra cost) Moving if statements around to prioritize the more common case Ignoring empty lists. #### The not simple shit Throwing our snowflake list checking into the sun (Background, byond has some special lists that cannot be accessed like an assoc list, trying to will lead to runtimes) The way we handle this involves inspecting their ref string, and it eats a LOT of time. Faster then to mark all the lists we know are special by var name, and then use try/catch to detect and silence anything that sneaks through (this is on the order of like 1/3 per run, kinda curious what they are tbh) Thanks to MSO for the idea for this btw. Removes the vars and logic that tied ref searching to clients. It's not how this code is used, and it slows everything else down for really no reason Added support for handing in a known "hanging reference" count, and then searching for that. FOV is Dead (Long Live FOV) (#80062)
## About The Pull Request FOV as it is currently implemented is incompatible* with wallening. I'm doin wallening, so we gotta redo things here. The issue is the masking of mobs. Wallening relies on sidemap (layering based off physical position), which only works on things on the same plane (because planes are basically sheets we render down onto) So rather then masking mobs, let's reuse the masking idea from old fov, and use it to cut out a bit of the game render plane, and blur/over-saturate the bit that's masked out. My hope is this makes things visible in light, but not as much in darkness, alongside making more vivid shit more easily seen (just like real life) Here's some videos, what follows after is the commits I care about (since I had to rip a bunch of planes to nothing, so the files changed tab might be a bit of a mess) Oh also I had to remove the darkness pref since the darkness is doing a lot of the heavy lifting now. PDA update (Messenger works while dead, Microwave works, etc). (#80069)
## About The Pull Request This is an update that touches many more things all at once (compared to my other PRs) meant to make PDAs in general feel more consistent and not take away from one of the experiences we want to encourage: interaction between players. 1. Replaced all checks of a 'pda' with a 'modular pc'. This means technically (though not done in-game currently) other modpcs can hold an uplink, and microwaves can charge laptops. 2. Speaking of microwave, they now don't break and require deconstruction if the cell is removed mid-charge. 3. When a Mod PC is out of power, it will now allow the Messenger to work (which now also doesn't consume any additional power), if the app exists on the PC. I replaced a bunch of program vars with ``program_flags`` and renamed ``usage_flags`` to ``can_run_on_flags``. 6. Added a debug modPC that has every app installed by default. Mafia had some issues in the past that were unknown because Mafia wasn't preinstalled with any tablet so was never in create & destroy nor in any other unit test. This was just an easy solution I had, but PDAs should get more in-depth unit tests in the future for running apps n stuff- I just wanted to make sure no other apps were broken/harddeling. ## Why It's Good For The Game Currently when a PDA dies, its only use is to reply to PDA messages sent to you, since you can still reply to them. Instead of just fixing it and telling players to cope, I thought it would be nice to allow PDA Messenger to still work, as it is a vital app. You can call it some emergency power mode or whatever, I don't really mind the reason behind why it is this way. When I made cells used more on PDAs, my main goal was to encourage upgrading your PDA and/or limiting how many apps you use at once, I did not want this to hit on players who use it as a form of interaction. This is the best of both worlds, I think. The rest of the changes is just for modularity, if some downstream wants to add tablets, phone computers, or whatever the hell else, they can still get just as far as PDAs should be able to get to, hopefully. ## Changelog 🆑 add: PDAs with a dead power cell are now limited to using their Messenger app. fix: Microwaves now stop charging PDAs if the cell was removed mid-charge. fix: Microwaves can now charge laptops. fix: PDA Flashlights can't be turned on while the PDA is dead. fix: You can now hold a laptop up to a camera (if it has a notekeeper app installed) like PDAs already could. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: lessthanthree <83487515+lessthnthree@users.noreply.github.com> |

Bitflag operators should be scoped to their subtype specific bitfield, not really useful to have this take up a spot on the `/atom` level if absolutely nothing other than `/obj`s use it. |

Adds a new component so that items that are "attached" to walls will now drop/deconstruct on turf destruction. (#77417)
## About The Pull Request Adds a new component, called wall_mounted, which applies on the wallframe objects on construction, as well as a number of wall frame objects and structures to cover mapped in, roundstart objects of the like. I might have forgotten a few, but this covers the vast majority that players will run into in a given round. This will cover wall destruction, turf explosion, the whole nine yards, and call that object/structure/machine's deconstruct proc. We have some special handling for intercoms as well since they're apparently items. So most basic case is this: You have a wall. that wall holds a sign. If you examine the wall, it tells you that the wall is currently supporting the **Example Sign**. It tells you that if the wall is damaged or destroyed, the sign will **fall off the wall.** So, if you were to welder, bomb, or hulk your way through that wall, it would call the deconstruct() proc on that sign, and fall off the wall, leaving an item sign at the foot of the wall. ## To-Do - [x] Stop breaking all wallmounts when operating shuttles (Signal conflict with COMSIG_TURF_CHANGED 😔) - [x] Confirm that the ~~deconstruct~~ designated proc of each wallmount falling is sane for the intended object - [x] Clean up the contents of the wall_mounted component to reduce copy-paste on object init. - [x] Add it to more stuff that may just not have a directional helper? - [x] ~~Change how APC construction is handled to make it easier!~~ - [x] ~~Don't accidently nerf malf AI into the ground I guess~~ ## Why It's Good For The Game Closes #22283. It stands to reason that they're mounted to the walls they appear to be attached to. This attempts to rectify them by giving them a turf link to the turf they're mounted to, and then upon changes to that turf, dropping or breaking that object. It'll need a little more polish to get to 100%, since I can see a few more issues to iron out first, but I'm dropping this here for now to get some feedback and put some fire under me to get this completed. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Wall mounted objects (Things like APCs, Air Alarms, Light switches, Signs, Posters, Newscasters, you name it) will now fall to the ground and break or deconstruct when their attaching wall is changed or broken. /🆑 |

Replaces Camera bug with Camera tablet app (#77713)
## About The Pull Request Replaces the Traitor's Camera Bug item with an application that allows you to view camera apps. The difference between this app and the Security one is that it does not have an access requirement, does not make noise (it didn't previously due to a bug, fixed in this PR), and can be installed on PDAs. This can also be installed from syndienet, which means nukies now have a way to see the station cameras while off the ship. Adds Syndicate app disks, which are made of Gold. This is only used by the Camera app as of right now. I also fixed some issues along the way; - Camera tablet app now properly shows cameras - It now properly makes the noises it is supposed to - It clears the viewers properly on the ui being closed or the app being exited. Syndicate app disks ddelete their apps upon being transferred over (like maintenance disks), trying to remain consistent with previous behavior. I also made this for a [personal project I am currently working on](https://hackmd.io/XLt5MoRvRxuhFbwtk4VAUA). I could just make this UI be TGUI, but I thought it could be worth trying to turn it into a better item first. Tracking people is much simpler now- You choose anyone from a list of people found on cameras, and it will try to find a camera that sees them. It also means emagging a tablet is slightly more useful, and golden data disks are pretty cool. Unfortunately this means that they no longer grant illegal tech, because otherwise you can simply clone the app infinitely for personal use, and deconstruct the disk itself for tech. This can be grinded into gold, but I think if we want an illegal tech item, it'll have to find a new host. Reworks how AI tracking is handled & reorganizes it (#77776)
## About The Pull Request Completely reworks how AI tracking is handled, this has no in-game effects. This moves nearly all AI tracking handling onto ``/datum/tracking``, which previously was pretty bad. I tried documenting as much as I can, making comments actually useful and give accurate information. Turns ``get_camera_list`` into a global proc, which we now use for camera consoles (including the app), cutting down on copy paste in 2 areas and standardizing its behavior/backend. ## Why It's Good For The Game I wanted to generalize this behavior so I can use it for tracking players in https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/77713 - This helps me do that. Also the current state of AI tracking code is pretty poor and hopefully this improves that area. Dunking handle_atom_del() in the trash bin. (#77339)
Whatever you do, if it warrants the use of something like `handle_atom_del`, chances are `Exited` can do it better, as most of these cases involve movables that shouldn't be moved out of their loc (`Destroy` forcefully moves movables to nullspace) without calling specific procs, and for the remaining few, `handle_atom_del` doesn't even cover the eventuality of a movable being deleted outside the source atom, so it's quite garbage. Beside, I feel confident in saying `handle_atom_del()` is older than the DCS, an echo on the workarounds done at the time. |

Machine list is now stored in SSmachines | Remove excessive use of global lists for specific machine types (#76822)
## About The Pull Request Removes all of the duplicate global lists for specific machine types where the only thing they do is store all machines of that type. Adds machine tracking to SSmachines in the form of a list for all machines, and then an associative list for machines by their type. Previously we have machines in multiple global lists, such as airlocks being in GLOB.doors, GLOB.airlocks, GLOB.machines. This makes that not a thing, and also means that iterating through GLOB.machines looking for a specific type is no longer as expensive. |

Macros multi-z code, removes the false premise of manual offsets (#76248)

That's a fiction of the trait system, the actual backend has never really supported this. This pr removes the assumptions we were making backend around this, and uses that to save cpu time. I am also converting multiz_levels from an assoc list to a pure one, which saves significantly on access times and cleans up the code somewhat. Also I'm making the get_below/get_above procs into macros, for the sake of cpu time. Standardize Welder Fuel Usage (#76021)
Remove welder fuel usage from all actions except attacking and leaving it on most welder tasks require a minimum of 1u of fuel, some longer tasks require a minimum of 2 or 3u welders now drain 1u every 5 seconds they're active ## About The Pull Request Prior to this PR welder fuel usage was random, a lot of tasks didn't use any welder fuel and welders were basically near infinite so long as you didn't use them for combat, it took 26 seconds of activity to drain 1u of fuel, that means an emergency welder alone could run for 5 minutes straight before needing a refuel After this PR all welders will drain 1u every 5 seconds instead of every 26 seconds, but welding objects won't require extra fuel anymore, making the fuel usage much more consistent. resolves #55018 ## Why It's Good For The Game Actually makes fuel tanks useful and relevant without making it obnoxious to do repetitive quick tasks like turn rods into plates, there's actually a reason to upgrade off the emergency welder now since it lasts 50 seconds rather than 5 minutes ## Changelog 🆑 qol: Welders now have a more consistent fuel usage /🆑 |

Minerals have been refactored so costs and minerals in items are now in terms of mineral defines. (#75052)
Ladies, Gentlemen, Gamers. You're probably wondering why I've called you all here (through the automatic reviewer request system). So, mineral balance! Mineral balance is less a balance and more of a nervous white dude juggling spinning plates on a high-wire on his first day. The fact it hasn't failed after going on this long is a miracle in and of itself. This PR does not change mineral balance. What this does is moves over every individual cost, both in crafting recipes attached to an object over to a define based system. We have 3 defines: `sheet_material_amount=2000` . Stock standard mineral sheet. This being our central mineral unit, this is used for all costs 2000+. `half_sheet_material_amount=1000` . Same as above, but using iron rods as our inbetween for costs of 1000-1999. `small_material_amount=100` . This hits 1-999. This covers... a startlingly large amount of the codebase. It's feast or famine out here in terms of mineral costs as a result, items are either sheets upon sheets, or some fraction of small mats. Shout out to riot darts for being the worst material cost in the game. I will not elaborate. Regardless, this has no functional change, but it sets the groundwork for making future changes to material costs much, MUCH easier, and moves over to a single, standardized set of units to help enforce coding standards on new items, and will bring up lots of uncomfortable balance questions down the line. For now though, this serves as some rough boundaries on how items costs are related, and will make adjusting these values easier going forward. Except for foam darts. I did round up foam darts. Adjusting mineral balance on the macro scale will be as simple as changing the aforementioned mineral defines, where the alternative is a rats nest of magic number defines. ~~No seriously, 11.25 iron for a foam dart are you kidding me what is the POINT WHY NOT JUST MAKE IT 11~~ Items individual numbers have not been adjusted yet, but we can standardize how the conversation can be held and actually GET SOMEWHERE on material balance as opposed to throwing our hands up or ignoring it for another 10 years. |

A camera can now only see upwards if the turf above it is transparent, rather than see all turfs upwards in range. Lints Against Unmanaged Local Defines (#74333)
# MAINTAINER - USE THE BUTTON THAT SAYS "MERGE MASTER" THEN SET THE PR TO AUTO-MERGE! IT'S MUCH EASIER FOR ME TO FIX THINGS BEFORE THEY SKEW RATHER THAN AFTER THE FACT. ## About The Pull Request Hey there, This took a while to do, but here's the gist: Python file now regexes every file in `/code` except for those that have some valid reason to be tacking on more global defines. Some of those reasons are simply just that I don't have the time right now (doing what you see in this PR took a few hours) to refactor and parse what should belong and what should be thrown out. For the time being though, this PR will at least _halt_ people making the mistake of not `#undef`ing any files they `#define` "locally", or within the scope of a file. Most people forget to do this and this leads to a lot of mess later on due to how many variables can be unmanaged on the global level. I've made this mistake, you've made this mistake, it's a common thing. Let's automatically check for it so it can be fixed no-stress. Scenarios this PR corrects: * Forgetting to undef a define but undeffing others. * Not undeffing any defines in your file. * Earmarking a define as a "file local" define, but not defining it. * Having a define be a "file local" define, but having it be used elsewhere. * Having a "local" define not even be in the file that it only shows up in. * Having a completely unused define* (* I kept some of these because they seemed important... Others were junked.) ## Why It's Good For The Game If you wanna use it across multiple files, no reason to not make it a global define (maybe there's a few reasons but let's assume that this is the 95% case). Let me know if you don't like how I re-arranged some of the defines and how you'd rather see it be implemented, and I'd be happy to do that. This was mostly just "eh does it need it or not" sorta stuff. Nightvision Rework (In the name of color) (#73094)
## About The Pull Request Relies on #72886 for some render relay expansion I use for light_mask stuff. Hello bestie! Night vision pissed me off, so I've come to burn this place to the ground. Two sections to discuss here. First we'll talk about see_in_dark and why I hate it, second we'll discuss the lighting plane and how we brighten it, plus introducing color to the party. ### `see_in_dark` and why it kinda sucks https://www.byond.com/docs/ref/#/mob/var/see_in_dark See in dark lets us control how far away from us a turf can be before we hide it/its contents if it's dark (not got luminosity set) We currently set it semi inconsistently to provide nightvision to mobs. The trouble is stuff that produces light != stuff that sets luminosity. The worst case of this can be seen by walking out of escape on icebox, where you'll see this  Snow draws above the lighting plane, so the snow will intermittently draw, depending on see_in_dark and the luminosity from tracking lights. This would in theory be solvable by modifying the area, but the same problem applies across many things in the codebase. As things currently stand, to be emissive you NEED to have a light on your tile. People are bad at this, and honestly it's a bit much to expect of them. An emissive overlay on a canister shouldn't need an element or something and a list on turfs to manage it. This gets worse when you factor in the patterns I'm using to avoid drawing lights above nothing, which leads to lights that should show, but are misoffset because their parent pixel offsets. It's silly. We do it so we can have things like mesons without just handing out night vision, but even there the effect of just hiding objects and mobs looks baddddddd when moving. It's always bothered me. I'll complain about mesons more later, but really just like, they're too bright as it is. I'm proposing here that rather then manually hiding stuff based off distance from the player, we can instead show/hide using just the lighting plane. This means things like mesons are gonna get dimmer, but that's fine because they suck. It does have some side effects, things like view() on mobs won't hide stuff in darkness, but that's fine because none actually thinks about view like that, I think. Oh and I added a case to prevent examining stuff that's in darkness, and not right next to you when you don't have enough nightvision, to match the old behavior `see_in_dark` gave us. Now I'd like to go on a mild tangent about color, please bare with me ### Color and why `lighting_alpha` REALLY sucks You ever walk around with mesons on when there's a fire going, or an ethereal or firelocks down. You notice how there isn't really much color to our lights? Doesn't that suck? It's because the way we go about brighting lighting is by making everything on the lighting plane transparent. This is fine for brightening things, but it ends up looking kinda crummy in the end and leads to really washed out colors that should be bright. Playing engineer or miner gets fucking depressing. The central idea of this pr, that everything else falls out of, is instead of making the plane more transparent, we can use color matrixes to make things AT LEAST x bright. https://www.byond.com/docs/ref/#/{notes}/color-matrix Brief recap for color matrixes, fully expanded they're a set of 20 different values in a list Units generally scale 0-1 as multipliers, though since it's multiplication in order to make an rgb(1,1,1) pixel fullbright you would need to use 255s. A "unit matrix" for color looks like this: ``` list(1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0 ) ``` The first four rows are how much each r, g, b and a impact r, g, b and well a. So a first row of `(1, 0, 0, 0)` means 1 unit of r results in 1 unit of r. and 0 units of green, blue and alpha, and so on. A first row of `(0, 1, 0, 0)` would make 1 red component into 1 green component, and leave red, blue and alpha alone, shifting any red of whatever it's applied to a green. Using these we can essentially color transform our world. It's a fun tool. But there's more. That last row there doesn't take a variable input like the others. Instead, it ADDS some fraction of 255 to red, green, blue and alpha. So a fifth row of `(1, 0, 0, 0)` would make every pixel as red as it could possibly be. This is what we're going to exploit here. You see all these values accept negative multipliers, so we can lower colors down instead of raising them up! The key idea is using color matrix filters https://www.byond.com/docs/ref/#/{notes}/filters/color to chain these operations together. Pulling alllll the way back, we want to brighten darkness without affecting brighter colors. Lower rgb values are darker, higher ones are brighter. This relationship isn't really linear because of suffering reasons, but it's good enough for this. Let's try chaining some matrixes on the lighting plane, which is bright where fullbright, and dark where dark. Take a list like this ``` list(1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, -0.2, -0.2, -0.2, 0 ) ``` That would darken the lighting a bit, but negative values will get rounded to 0 A subsequent raising by the same amount ``` list(1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0.2, 0.2, 0.2, 0 ) ``` Will essentially threshold our brightness at that value. This ensures we aren't washing out colors when we make things brighter, while leaving higher values unaffected since they basically just had a constant subtracted and then readded. ### But wait, there's more You may have noticed, we gain access to individual color components here. This means not only can we darken and lighten by thresholds, we can COLOR those thresholds. ``` list(1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0.1, 0.2, 0.1, 0 ) ``` Something like the above, if applied with its inverse, would tint the darkness green. The delta between the different scalars will determine how vivid the color is, and the actual value will impact the brightness. Something that's always bothered me about nightvision is it's just greyscale for the most part, there isn't any color to it. There was an old idea of coloring the game plane to match their lenses, but if you've ever played with the colorblind quirk you know that gets headachey really fast. So instead of that, lets color just the darkness that these glasses produce. It provides some reminder that you're wearing them, instead of just being something you forget about while playing, and provides a reason to use flashlights and such since they can give you a clearer, less tinted view of things while retaining the ability to look around things. I've so far applied this pattern to JUST headwear for humans (also those mining wisps) I'm planning on furthering it to mobs that use nightvision, but I wanted to get this up cause I don't wanna pr it the day before the freeze. Mesons are green, sec night vision is red, thermals orange, etc. I think the effect this gives is really really nice. I've tuned most things to work for the station, though mesons works for lavaland for obvious reasons. I've tuned things significantly darker then we have them set currently, since I really hate flat lighting and this system suffers when interacting with it. My goal with these is to give you a rough idea of what's around you, without a good eye for detail. That's the difference between say, mesons, and night vision. One helps you see outlines, the other gives you detail and prevents missing someone in the darkness. It's hard to balance this precisely because of different colored backgrounds (looking at you icebox) More can be done on this front in future but I'm quite happy with things as of now ### **EDIT** I have since expanded to all uses of nightvision, coloring most all of them. Along the way I turned some toggleable nightvision into just one level. Fullbright sucks, and I'd rather just have one "good" value. I've kept it for a few cases, mostly eyes you rip out of mobs. Impacted mobs are nightmares, aliens, zombies, revenants, states and sort of stands. I've done a pass on all mobs and items that impact nightvision and added what I thought was the right level of color to them. This includes stuff like blobs and shuttle control consoles As with glasses much of this was around reducing vision, though I kept it stronger here, since many of these mobs rely on it for engaging with the game <details> <summary> Technical Changes </summary> #### Adds filter proc (the ones that act like templates) support to filter transitions. Found this when testing this pr, seemed silly. #### Makes our emissive mask mask all light instead This avoids dumbass overlay lighting lighting up wallmounts. We switch modes if some turfflags are set, to accomplish the same thing with more overhead, and support showing things through the darkness. Also fixes a bug where you'd only get one fullscreen object per mob, so opening and closing a submap would take it away Also also fixes the lighting backdrop not actually spanning the screen. It doesn't actually do anything anymore because of the fullscreen light we have, but just in case that's unsued. Needs cleanup in future. #### Moves openspace to its own plane that doesn't draw, maxing its color with a sprite This is to support the above We relay this plane to lighting mask so openspace can like, have lighting #### Changes our definition of nightvision to the light cutoff of night vision goggles and such Side affect of removing see_in_dark. Refactor, improve, and rename canUseTopic to be can_perform_action (#73434)
This builds on what #69790 did and improved the code even further. Notable things: - `Topic()` is a deprecated proc in our codebase (replaced with Javascript tgui) so it makes sense to rename `canUseTopic` to `can_perform_action` which is more straightforward in what it does. - Positional and named arguments have been converted into a easier to use `action_bitflag` - The bitflags adds some new checks you can use like: `NEED_GRAVITY | NEED_LITERACY | NEED_LIGHT` when you want to perform an action. - Redundant, duplicate, or dead code has been removed. - Fixes several runtimes where `canUseTopic` was being called without a proper target (IV drips, gibber, food processor) - Better documentation for the proc and bitflags with examples |
