Adds TGMC Tactical maps to the game and to Nuclear Operatives! (#96068)
<!-- Write **BELOW** The Headers and **ABOVE** The comments else it may not be viewable. --> <!-- You can view Contributing.MD for a detailed description of the pull request process. --> ## About The Pull Request Brought to you by Team Powercrèpe.(same group of people that delivered the Heretic Overhaul) This PR ports the TGMC Tacmaps and grants em to our NukeOps. Code by Me, @Xander3359, @Arturlang, @Absolucy. Mapping by @RipGrayson Sprites by @KillerOrcaCora Writing bits by @necromanceranne Tacmaps are essentially dynamically generated minimaps, <img width="1711" height="1335" alt="Tac map examples" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f936fac0-fb7c-4b84-970d-7195b4995ca7" /> <img width="1274" height="714" alt="Tac-Maps Icons" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/0f04e388-af4b-4955-be7a-04650cfd746b" /> As you can see from the screenshots above, departments are classified by color, hovering your cursor over an area or a team mate, will display their name, the system does allow the user to switch between Multi-Z, and lastly you can draw and add labels to the map, although the last option is only available to the NukeOps Leader and OW agents. The functionality is tied to the Syndicate implants nukies start with, Cayenne, Syndie borgs and Mechs also have the ability to toggle the map. Likewise, the tacmaps will display the positioning of the following in real time! - Nuke ops agents - Syndie borgs and Mechs - Cayenne - Location of the nuclear fission device (and beer nuke) - Location of the Nuclear Authentication Disk. <img width="1274" height="714" alt="SkyBridge OFF" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3915e7d7-644a-4e9a-b213-997834dde2ea" /> <img width="1274" height="714" alt="SkyBridge ON" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/13748290-fd16-42ba-a9c4-a6b4f7e69c79" /> <img width="566" height="459" alt="Holo table done" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1a43c5b7-ee51-4794-9c09-16b4fb50e2ad" /> https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/caf38538-ef04-4330-992c-3137a67ea0d0 Lastly The tactiical map implant cannot be be used on the nuke ops base,If the team wishes to interact with the map they'll have to Interact with the "Reconnaisance Platform" (Sprite by Orcacora) in the briefing room, which has seen some mapping changes (Brought to you by TheLastGrayson). <!-- Describe The Pull Request. Please be sure every change is documented or this can delay review and even discourage maintainers from merging your PR! --> ## Why It's Good For The Game Originally this feature was planned for the Upcoming Contractor Rework our team is currently working on, but given the massive size of it all, we decided to atomize it. But without that consideration in mind, I think it makes sense for Nuclear operatives of all antagonists to have the means to Recon and plot an assault plan onto the station and actually be able to know the whereabouts of their teammates. Obviously this feature has a lot of other potential applications, we have wanted to have functional Maps for a very long time, if someone wants to give it a go once the feature is merged, by all means. <!-- Argue for the merits of your changes and how they benefit the game, especially if they are controversial and/or far reaching. If you can't actually explain WHY what you are doing will improve the game, then it probably isn't good for the game in the first place. --> ## Changelog <!-- If your PR modifies aspects of the game that can be concretely observed by players or admins you should add a changelog. If your change does NOT meet this description, remove this section. Be sure to properly mark your PRs to prevent unnecessary GBP loss. You can read up on GBP and its effects on PRs in the tgstation guides for contributors. Please note that maintainers freely reserve the right to remove and add tags should they deem it appropriate. You can attempt to finagle the system all you want, but it's best to shoot for clear communication right off the bat. --> 🆑 add: Tactical Maps have been added to the game! add: Nuclear Operatives implants now grant the ability to open a Minimap, this map will display and show the names of various areas of the station, and the positioning of the Nukeops team, borgs, mechs,Cayenne and the nuke disk in real time! add: Nukie leaders and OW agents can also draw and apply labels to the map. add: the "Recoinassance Platform" has been added to the Nukie Base, it allows displaying of the Tactical maps while on the Syndicate Base Z level. map: The briefing room in the NukeOps base has been remapped to better accomodate the new Holographic table. map: Changed the front shutters on the Syndicate Infiltrator to the more fitting Syndicate Shutters. /🆑 <!-- Both 🆑's are required for the changelog to work! You can put your name to the right of the first 🆑 if you want to overwrite your GitHub username as author ingame. --> <!-- You can use multiple of the same prefix (they're only used for the icon ingame) and delete the unneeded ones. Despite some of the tags, changelogs should generally represent how a player might be affected by the changes rather than a summary of the PR's contents. --> --------- Co-authored-by: Xander3359 <66163761+Xander3359@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Artur Lang <24881678+Arturlang@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Lucy <lucy@absolucy.moe> Co-authored-by: Copilot <copilot@github.com> Co-authored-by: RipGrayson <49290523+RipGrayson@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: necromanceranne <40847847+necromanceranne@users.noreply.github.com> |

fixes up some math defines to use byond builtins instead of workarounds (#95652)
## About The Pull Request this translates some various - `FLOOR(x, 1)` -> `floor(x)` - `CEILING(x, 1)` -> `ceil(x)` - `SIGN(x)` define is gone, just uses the native BYOND `sign()` now. Also, the `MODULUS` define is just a wrapper for the [BYOND `%%` operator](https://ref.harry.live/operator/modulomodulo) now. would be nice if someone double checked to make sure there's no potential subtle oddities resulting from this. ## Why It's Good For The Game These procs presumably did not exist whenever the defines were written - and they are BYOND builtins, meaning it will just be, say, one `sign` instruction, instead of two comparisons and a subtraction. ## Changelog no player-facing changes |

Adjusts all get_temperature() accesses to compare it to a value (#95236)
## About The Pull Request ``get_temperature()`` returns a value in kelvins, not a boolean. Trying to treat it as such will result in ***any*** item with a thermal value, like condensers, being treated as a lighter. ## Why It's Good For The Game Consistency, allows us to have actually functioning cooling items that don't act like lighters all the time. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Condensers can no longer be used to ignite things /🆑 |

Converts 3 components into elements (#94589)
## About The Pull Request `adjust_fishing_difficulty` is a good one to make into a bespoke element since a number of the same clothing item are created in the wardrobe system. climb_walkable is also good due to how prevalent it is, and it is a bit of a two for one since it also removes the need for the `/component/connect_loc_behalf` Also stops adding the on_climbable trait to literally everything in the turf, it now only applies it to atoms with density. So no more pipes and stuff getting trait lists created for no reason. <details><summary> Tested + things still work as before </summary> <img width="422" height="122" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b23696f5-cd16-4150-aeb3-14ea6bd256fc" /> </details> ## Why It's Good For The Game Lessens overhead, fixes a bug as well. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: fixes a pushed crate not removing on_climbable trait properly off the mob standing atop it /🆑 |

Converts simple rotation into a bespoke element (#94582)
## About The Pull Request <img width="579" height="67" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d7a4427e-2a6e-44d3-94ba-c90a2d474984" /> Simple rotation components number in the 8-9k range per round, and each contains a needless callback datum as well. These do not need to hold any state and can be bespoke elements, and the proc to do things post_rotation can just be a normal atom proc. <details><summary>Still works as you'd expect, including items that have flag requirements like the wrench</summary> </details> ## Why It's Good For The Game Makes a heavily used element much more lightweight, saves a few mb of memory. ## Changelog 🆑 refactor: simple rotation component has been refactored into an element Please report any bugs to github. /🆑 |

Unit test material checks are now performed on all crafting recipes by default. All stack recipes now transfer mats to the results (#92620)
## About The Pull Request Extends the part of the crafting unit test that ensures consistency between the total mats of the components of a recipe (or rather, the result of said recipe) and a generic instance of the same type as its result, previously only implemented on food recipes. ## Why It's Good For The Game This ensures a degree of consistency with the material composition of various objects in the game. I couldn't do it in the original PR as that one was too big already and it took months to get it merged, and have the relative bugs fixed. Currently a WIP as I slowly deal with the unit test reports. ## Changelog 🆑 refactor: Follow-up to the crafting/material refactor from months ago. All objects crafted with stacks now inherit their mat composition (not necessarily the effects and color) by default, while previously only a few things like chair, sinks and toilets did. Report any object looking or behaving weirdly as a result. fix: The material composition of ammo boxes is no longer a 1/10 of what it's supposed to be. It was a shitty hack to make it harder to recycle empty ammo boxes. Instead, they lose materials as they're emptied now. /🆑 |

Heretic Antagonist Full Overhaul. (#92119)
## About The Pull Request Heretic has received a complete overhaul. This PR touches nearly every aspect of the antagonist. For readability's sake, not every change is going to be listed in this pull request. For the full list of changes please refer to the design doc: https://hackmd.io/@BiST8PJVRjiwVPY86U3bLQ/B11HyChz1g. Code by Me, @Xander3359 and @Arturlang TGUI by @Arturlang Sprites by OrcaCora and GregorDM Writing bits by @necromanceranne ### Core changes - Cross-pathing has been removed. Main knowledge spells are now exclusive to their path (for the most part). - For every main knowledge unlocked (save for the robes and the blade upgrade), Heretics can choose one option from a draft of 3 random side knowledges (this is a free point). - Heretics can now purchase side knowledges from a new tab, the "Knowledge Shop". Side-knowledges have been divided by tier (Stealth, Defense, Summons, Combat and Main). Tiers are unlocked as you progress toward your main path. - Heretics now gain the grasp and mark upgrade immediately, but their main knowledge choices cost twice as much (except for the first spell, the robes and the blade upgrade). - Path specific robes have been introduced! They come with their own set of quirks. - Each Path has received a passive ability. This passive is upgraded when you first create your robes, and again when you complete the Ritual of Knowledge. - Paths have been rebalanced as a result of the removal of cross-path progression. Cosmic and Moon paths have received soft reworks. - Upon unlocking the path 2nd level or reaching a total of 8 points worth of knowledge, Heretics will lose the ability to blade break (and the limit on blades all together). - Ascension now automatically calls the shuttle with no possibility of a recall. - Late join Heretic has been removed. ### New UI <img width="750" height="635" alt="moon path ui" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/184ef783-5c9c-48a1-a2f7-4807ca93e990" /> ### Knowledge shop <img width="787" height="669" alt="Knowledge shop" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3dc89b84-8c70-4d47-b612-54396e3ea6e7" /> ### Quality of life //General balance changes - Heretics will now gain X-ray vision for a few seconds when nearby an eldritch essence (this effect has a cooldown). - Ritual of knowledge now requires 1 uncommon item instead of 2. You may now use a stunprod instead of a baton to complete the ritual. Beartraps have been removed from the list of possible reagents. - The maximum number of possible sacrifices required to ascend has been reduced from 6 to 5 while the minimum has been upped to 4. - Codex Cicatrix no longer requires a special pen to be made. ### Passive abilities - Heretics now start with a passive ability. You can find what it does on the path info tab after a path has been selected, and what they gain when upgraded. - Crafting your first set of Eldritch robes will bump your passive to level 2. - Unlocking the 2nd level will subsequently unlock your "Ritual Of Knowledge" - Completing the ritual of knowledge or ascending will net you the final level. ### Path Specific Robes - Armorer's Ritual is no longer a side knowledge. Each path will have their own unique version of the ritual. This is placed after the 2nd spell in the tree. - Robes can no longer be destroyed by fire and acid, grant t4 flash protection (Moth Heretics stay winning) and protection against basic syringes, to bring them on par with other antagonist's armor sets. - The recipe to craft the robes is now a set of armor/vest, a mask (any mask will do now, not just gas masks), plus the unique reagent required for the blades (Plasma for Cosmic, Trash For Rust, match for Ash and so on) - Wearing the robes as a non-heretic may yield some unfortunate side-effects. ### Moon Path Rework Moon path rework. Moon Heretics gain immunity to brain traumas and slowly regenerate brain health. Equipping the moon amulette channels its effects through the moon blade; making it unblockable and cause sanity damage instead of brute. Ring leader's Rise now summons an army of harmless clones that explode when attacked; the explosion briefly stuns non-heretics and cause sanity and brain damage to them. Moon blade can also now be used when pacified and Moon spells are no longer blocked by regular anti magic, only mind magic protection. **Cosmic Path Rework** Cosmic path has received the biggest batch of changes alongside Moon. The path has been dead last in ascension and pickrate (less than 5%) for almost 2 years. It did gain some popularity over the last few months, reaching the highest ascension rate in the game (12%) while mantaining a relatively low pickrate. Cosmic sits in a weird spot, where pretty much every knowledge surrounding the path is either mediocre or, in the case of the ascension, dysfunctional. Yet it has maintained a smidge of relevancy due to how quickly Cosmic heretics can capture and sacrifice targets thanks to Star Touch. As a result, the best course of action would be to rebalance the entirety of the kit; granting the heretic more tools to manipulate space and dictate the flow of a fight, while lessening their ability to end a confrontation by instantly sleeping their opponents. lastly The Star Gazer is now ghost controlled ; And they shoot lazers! <img width="636" height="451" alt="gazer gag 3" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/601d6881-c042-4e42-8ce6-ac90cd27848b" /> ## Why It's Good For The Game ### Ok...but why do we want this? Again, if you want my full reasoning, please check my doc https://hackmd.io/@BiST8PJVRjiwVPY86U3bLQ/B11HyChz1g. To keep it short and concise; Heretic is too complex and unintuitive for its own good. Too impenetrable for new players and too abusable for experienced players. This can be chalked up to a lot of poor design decisions. But ultimately, what I believe being the biggest contributor to the current status of Heretic is the ability to move into different paths, also known as "Cross-Pathing". ### Cross Pathing my beloathed. Cross-pathing, while cool in theory, overcomplicates the antagonist and overloads them with power. Players dealing with the heretic are incapable of working out what a given heretic can do. This also leads to late game heretics having 3 rows Worth of action buttons and virtually no weakness. Over the last year, I've often received the understandable but also kind of unfair accusations of making Heretic too powerful without a clear aim or purpose. My goal with the paths I've reworked over the last year (Rust,Void and Blade) wasn't necessarily to just make them stronger (although that was also part of the goal, as they were paths that were underperforming), but for them to have more interactions with the sandbox and to better live up to the fantasy presented to the player. If an harbringer of frost gets countered by a cup of coffee, we probably messed something up. Unfortunately, the current incarnation of Heretic doesn't really allow for surgical balance changes to specific paths. Every time a knowledge gets buffed, we make every path that can easily tap onto that knowledge stronger by default. It doesn't take a genius to understand why this system is ultimately unsustainable. ### Blade Breaking I feel that after a heretic has reached the near peak of their power, they no longer need the ability to instantly escape any encounter. Check my doc for my full reasoning. ## Less versatile, more specialized paths. By removing cross-pathing, we remove a huge maintainability burden from the antagonist. Paths can now be designed around clearer strengths and weaknesses. They become easier to balance and less of an headache to understand for everyone. It also means we can give paths some needed quality of life quirks without having to worry how such a change might have a knock-on effect for other paths. Ash heretics can finally let loose without dying by their own flames. Cosmic Heretic can go to space without having to carry a modsuit. Moon Heretic can use their abilities without fear of one random trauma ruining their day, and so on. ### What a horrible night to have a curse...., wait how do I curse people again? As of right now the heretic tree has quite a hefty amount of trinkets that pretty much never see use. Partly because the tree itself is a nightmare to navigate. And partly because why would anyone set up an elaborate plan or scheme when they can unleash 2 rows of spell in the span of bunch of seconds. Heretics mostly gravitate towards powers that push them towards greater, more potent combat strength. If it doesn't contribute to killing people quicker, it isn't worth doing for most. And given the opportunity cost associated for taking those powers, they will remain that way so long as there are better choices to be poached. The new draft system encourages Heretics to play more with the tools at their disposal. If you want to go for a specific combo from the side path options, you may now do so by tapping into the knowledge shop. Yes, the shop does include a few knowledges from the other paths. But these are limited to 1 per path, are very expensive and can only be unlocked very late into the shift. ## Drip Of the Mansus The iconic heretic robe is actually sequestered to a side path that is most easily access by only two paths at a time. Since heretic paths are being made to be much more specialized, the most obvious way in which this can be showcased is through an easily identifiable outfit. By using the robes, we can both telegraph WHAT heretic you are looking at, and just how much power they've accumulated and when it is reasonable to take the kid gloves off and treat them as a genuine threat. If a heretic is in their robes, that heretic is now a significantly more prominent danger to the station. It also serves as a useful means for gating some of the more powerful effects of a heretic's path behind the robes, AND enable options for disarming them of that power should they be captured without making it something endemic to their mob. A major problem with heretics is a lack of certainty as to how powerful they have become. A heretics robes is one of the milestones to help players dealing with heretics identify that. ### Will this be 100% fair and balanced? This is a massive overhaul to a pretty complex and bloated antagonist. I've done my best to show the changes to several maintainers and other members of the community for their feedback. But at some point we'll have to see how this behave in the environment to get a feel if something is over or undertuned. (that's my way of saying, yes this is likely gonna require a testmerge or two). What I will say is that I'm not trying to change the core identity of Heretic. Heretics should have the upperhand in single encounters early on, be able to joust a small group of players after they unlock their final spell, and end the round when they ascend. They're a progression antagonist. They should retain their payoff as well as pose a danger as they grow stronger. But if more players feel like they are more reliably able to play the antagonist in more varied and interesting ways, rather than the antagonist largely existing as a measuring stick for 'robustness' due to its elitist design philosophy, then the rework has been a success. There should be something for everyone in the antagonist, as is true for all of our antagonist roles. |

[MDB IGNORE] Blood Refactor Chapter 2: Collector's Edition (#91054)
Refactors most of blood handling code untouched by #90593 and completely rewrites all blood decals, components and reagents. - Blood types now have behavioral flags which allow them to control where they leave decals/DNA/viruses. Oil no longer transfers DNA and viruses with it, while podpeople water-blood doesn't leave visible decals on turfs and items, but still can be picked up by DNA scanners. - Multiple blood types have received unique handling - liquid electricity blood now glows in the dark, oil trails are flammable and lube ones are slippery. Oil blood can be restored with fuel, lube with silicon and slime with stable plasma (as normal plasma already passively regenerates their blood), instead of everything using iron. Saline solution only supplements on iron-based blood and won't do anything to help with bloodloss for species who rely on different blood types. (Roundstart this applies only to Ethereals) - All blood logic has been moved away from the blood reagent itself into a blood element that is assigned to the blood reagent by default, and to any reagent that's drawn from a mob as their "blood" (in ``transfer_blood_to``). This means that blood you draw from lizards will be green and have lizard's blood description instead of mentioning red blood cells, Ethereal "blood" will actually contain their DNA and genes, etc. - Refactored all blood decals. Blood states are no more, everything is now handled via blood DNA. Credits to MrMelbert and Maplestation, as a significant amount of code has been taken from https://github.com/MrMelbert/MapleStationCode/pull/436 and many of his followup PRs. Oil and xenomorph splatters are now subtypes of blood, blood drying is now animated, blood trails now curve and can be diagonal. - Rewrote bloodysoles and bloody_spreader components, credits to Melbert again for the former, while latter now makes more sense with its interactions. Bloody soles no longer share blood DNA with your hands. - Ported Melbert's bloody footprint sprites and bot-blood-spreading functionality. - Removed all species-side reagent interactions, instead they're handled by said species' livers. (This previously included exotic blood handling, thus the removal) - Slightly optimized human rendering by removing inbetween overlay holders for clothing when they're not needed. - Blood-transmitted diseases will now get added to many more decals than before. - Cleaned up and partially refactored replica pods, fixed an issue where monkeys/manipulators were unable to harvest mindless pods. - Exotic bloodtype on species now automatically assigns their blood reagent, without the need to assign them separately. - Clown mobs now bleed (with colorful reagent instead of blood during april fools), and so do vatbeasts (lizard blood) - Implemented generic procs for handling bleeding checks, all sorts of scanners now also correctly call your blood for what it is. - Podpeople's guts are now lime-green like their organs, instead of being weirdly greyish like their water-blood. (Their bleeding overlays are still grey, as they're bleeding water) - Slimepeople now can bleed. Their jelly is pale purple in color, but their wound overlays copy their body color. - Injecting/spraying/splashing/etc mob with a reagent preserves its data, so you could theoretically recycle fine wines from someone's bloodstream - Fixed burdened chaplain's sect never actually giving a blessing when applying effects, and giving a blessing when nothing can be healed. Inverted check strikes again. - Closes #91039 A lot of blood here has dried, visually the blood colors are almost exactly the same as before either of the blood refactors. |

Re-refactors batons / Refactors attack chain force modifiers (#90809)
Melee attack chain now has a list passed along with it, `attack_modifiers`, which you can stick force modifiers to change the resulting attack This is basically a soft implementation of damage packets until a more definitive pr, but one that only applies to item attack chain, and not unarmed attacks. This change was done to facilitate a baton refactor - batons no longer hack together their own attack chain, and are now integrated straight into the real attack chain. This refactor itself was done because batons don't send any attack signals, which has been annoying in the past (for swing combat). 🆑 Melbert refactor: Batons have been refactored again. Baton stuns now properly count as an attack, when before it was a nothing. Report any oddities, particularly in regards to harmbatonning vs normal batonning. refactor: The method of adjusting item damage mid-attack has been refactored - some affected items include the Nullblade and knives. Report any strange happenings with damage numbers. refactor: A few objects have been moved to the new interaction chain - records consoles, mawed crucible, alien weeds and space vines, hedges, restaurant portals, and some mobs - to name a few. fix: Spears only deal bonus damage against secure lockers, not all closet types (including crates) /🆑 |

Removes Corner Smoothing (Mild Bitmask Improvements) (#90002)
<!-- Write **BELOW** The Headers and **ABOVE** The comments else it may not be viewable. --> <!-- You can view Contributing.MD for a detailed description of the pull request process. --> ## About The Pull Request [Removes all remaining users of SMOOTH_CORNER + dirt automation](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/commit/71d120511a372501ac546b2571ef570eb4426a56) Removes all remaining instances of overlay smoothing (the deprecated system that stitches corners together IN ENGINE) from the game. This amounts to: The test smoothing wall, which I converted to just bitmask + diagonals Stationary canisters, which I've done the same to (alongside adding all the states to gags, which around doubled their gags count). These autocut now. I've also given dirt icons autocutting, for spriter convieneince (I would have done this before but I didn't know they smoothed) [Removes corner smoothing from the codebase](https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/commit/98ebe5815223a3078c2e591fd277b9418ed03278) This code is OLD, and has been functionally deprecated for as long as I've been here. It basically does what bitmask smoothing does, but instead of prebaking connections they're formed in engine with overlays. This is... fine, and does TECHNICALLY allow for unique effects, but none's gonna use it because the details are so niche, so it just becomes a risk factor for someone fucking up and using overlays for some reason. What it does do then is clutter up our smoothing code with 2 different async systems, one of which functions SLIGHTLY differently from its brother. IMO it just works to confuse people trying to read smoothing code (already quite confusing). I've removed it, alongside its bespoke code/variables, excluding area_limited_icon_smoothing, a var on areas that prevents smoothing out of network, which I have instead integrated into bitmask smoothing. I've updated snowflake's documentation to be more up to date with modern systems, and earmarked where explanations/automation for the more... underdeveloped bits of smoothing should go in the future. ## Why It's Good For The Game I relapsed and needed something to put that energy towards. We don't really want people to use this, and none knows enough about it to take advantage of its theoretical uses. Really its only purpose right now is making understanding diagonal smoothing easier, and that's not all that hard of a task. Better to remove and integrate then to let rot and confuse. ## Changelog <!-- If your PR modifies aspects of the game that can be concretely observed by players or admins you should add a changelog. Walls & windows the only two atoms that support leaning don't use these vars so its unused code - Leaning component now starts leaning inside its `Initialize()` proc, which means we don't have to call `base_mouse_drop_handler()` manually - Because of point 2 we can now properly lazy load the leaning component via `LoadComponent()` proc instead of keeping track of a boolean var to check if we added the component or not. ## About The Pull Request Previous attempt - https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/87227 `/atom/proc/singularity_pull(obj/singularity/singularity, current_size)` has first arg typed, but other procs were just referencing it as a un-typed variable. Since args are not standartized AND `atom/proc/singularity_pull(obj/singularity/singularity, current_size)` is out-dated, since it can be called by things that has `/datum/component/singularity` - not just by `obj/singularity/singularity` - This PR just adds args to every `proc/singularity_pull()` as follows: `proc/singularity_pull(atom/singularity, current_size)` ## Why It's Good For The Game Standartization ## Changelog No changelog needed |

New Icebox Ruin - Syndicate Biodome (#86957)
## About The Pull Request **A Dangerous Ruin Approaches!** A new high-risk, high reward ruin for icebox! Featuring some very dangerous enemies for some goodies. Small puzzle element included find the keycard to open the research directors office to lift the lockdown on the security post, from there you can lift the lockdown on the surgical rooms, all the while encountering feral gorillas. ## Why It's Good For The Game Icebox lacks some dangerous ruins with decent loot. The loot here is a WIP and I'm hoping can be discussed. I know icebox still is in need of some ruins and I had some ideas and threw this together. The map size is 45x45. I made it so you also can't just bee-line and cheese it by adding indestructable shutters, windows, and walls, along with a noteleport area flag to prevent cheesing of the area. In-game rendered screenshots: ![Uploading image.png…]() Editor Screenshots: Notable loot Spawns: ## Changelog 🆑 map: New Icebox Ruin "Syndicate Biodome" added. /🆑 |

Lighters use welding fuel and can be used as welders in some cases (#85941)
## About The Pull Request Lighters now have welding fuel which can be filled/extracted by hand, giving a small but consistent source of welding fuel for non-chemists. Welding fuel is now required for these lighters to work, they'll close automatically once they're out of fuel. They last for a minute, zippo lasts 2 minutes, before they need to be refuelled. It can have other reagents put into it but it only checks for welding fuel, so it won't work at all unless its got some. They can be used as welding tools in minor cases, mostly fixing things and welding doors shut, but can't do big things like deconstruction, except the xenobio one because it's a lot hotter than the normal lighter. Also added a baseline support to check for heat to perform certain welds, before heat is just this binary "has or doesnt have heat", which made its value useless. ## Why It's Good For The Game Adds a ghetto way of getting welding fuel, hiding reagents, and a ghetto welding tool without being something that prisoners could break out of prison with. They could weld the doors shut which is a little funny, security still has proper welding tools to counter it. It also currently is kinda lame that lighters could just be open 24/7, unlike matches which has a lifespan of 10 seconds each or something. ## Changelog 🆑 add: Lighters now use and require welding fuel to work, but can be used as a welding tool for tasks that don't require much heat. /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: Ghom <42542238+Ghommie@users.noreply.github.com> |

Wallening [IDB IGNORE] [MDB IGNORE] (#85491)
## What's going on here Kept you waitin huh! This pr resprites most all walls, windows and other "wall adjacent" things to a 3/4th perspective, technical term is "tall" walls (we are very smart). If you're trying to understand the technical details here, much of the "rendering tech" is built off the idea of split-vis. Basically, split a sprite up and render it on adjacent turfs, to prevent seeing "through" walls/doors, and to support seeing "edges" without actually seeing the atom itself. Most of the rest of it is pipelining done to accommodate how icons are cut. ## Path To Merge Almost* all sprites and code is done at this point. There are some things missing both on and off the bounty list, but that will be the case forever unless we force upstream (you guys) to stop adding new shit that doesn't fit the style. I plan on accepting and integrating prs to the current working repo <https://github.com/wall-nerds/wallening> up until a merge, to make contribution simpler and allow things like bounties to close out more easily This pr is quite bulky, even stripping away map changes it's maybe 7000 LOC (We have a few maps that were modified with UpdatePaths, I am also tentatively pring our test map, for future use.) This may inhibit proper review, although that is part of why I am willing to make it despite my perfectionism. Apologies in advance. Due to the perspective shift, a lot of mapping work is going to need to be done at some point. This comes in varying levels of priority. Many wallmounts are offset by hand, some are stuck in the wall/basically cannot be placed on the east/west/north edges of walls (posters), some just don't look great good in their current position. Tests are currently a minor bit yorked, I thought it was more important to get this up then to clean them fully. ## What does it look like? ## Credits <details> <summary>Historical Mumbojumbo</summary> I am gonna do my best to document how this project came to be. I am operating off third party info and half remembered details, so if I'm wrong please yell at me. This project started sometime in late 2020, as a product of Rohesie trying to integrate and make easier work from Mojave Sun (A recently defunct fallout server) with /tg/. Mojave Sun (Apparently this was LITERALLY JUST infrared baron, that man is insane) was working with tall walls, IE walls that are 48px tall instead of the normal 32. This was I THINK done based off a technical prototype from aao7 proving A it was possible and B it didn't look like dogwater. This alongside oranges begging the art team for 3/4th walls (he meant TGMC style) lead to Rohesie bringing on contributors from general /tg/, including actionninja who would eventually take over as technical lead and Kryson, who would define /tg/'s version of the artstyle. Much of the formative aspects of this project are their work. The project was coming along pretty well for a few months, but ran into serious technical issues with `SIDE_MAP`, a byond map_format that allows for simpler 3/4th rendering. Due to BULLSHIT I will not detail here, the map format caused issues both at random with flickering and heavily with multiz. Concurrent with this, action stepped down after hacking out the rendering tech and starting work on an icon cutter that would allow for simpler icon generation, leaving ninjanomnom to manage the project. Some time passed, and the project stalled out due to the technical issues. Eventually I built a test case for the issues we had with `SIDE_MAP` and convinced lummox jr (byond's developer) to explain how the fuckin thing actually worked. This understanding made the project theoretically possible, but did not resolve the problems with multi-z. Resolving those required a full rework of how rendering like, worked. I (alongside tattle) took over project development from ninjanomnom at this time, and started work on Plane Cube (#69115), which when finished would finally make the project technically feasible. The time between then and now has been slow, progressive work. Many many artists and technical folks have dumped their time into this (as you can see from the credits). I will get into this more below but I would like to explicitly thank (in no particular order) tattle, draco, arcanemusic, actionninja, imaginos, viro and kylerace for keeping the project alive in this time period. I would have curled up into a ball and died if I had to do this all myself, your help has been indispensable. </details> <details> <summary>Detailed Credits</summary> Deep apologies if I have forgotten someone (I am sure I have, if someone is you please contact me). I've done my best to collate from the git log/my memory. Thanks to (In no particular order): Raccoff: Being funny to bully, creating threshold decals for airlocks aa07: (I think) inspiring the project ActionNinja: Laying the technical rock we build off, supporting me despite byond trying to kill him, building the icon cutter that makes this possible ArcaneMusic: Artistic and technical work spanning from the project's start to literally today, being a constant of motivation and positivity. I can't list all the stuff he's done Armhulen: Key rendering work (he's the reason thindows render right), an upbeat personality and a kick in the ass. Love you arm Azlan: Damn cool sprites, consistently Ben10Omintrix: You know ben showed up just to make basic mobs work, he's just fuckin like that man BigBimmer: A large amount of bounty work, alongside just like, throwing shit around. An absolute joy to work with Capsandi: Plaques, blastdoors, artistic work early on CapybaraExtravagante: Rendering work on wall frames Draco: SO MUCH STUFF. Much of the spritework done over the past two years is his, constantly engaged and will take on anything. I would have given up if not for you Floyd: Early rendering work, so early I don't even know the details. Enjoy freedom brother Imaginos16: A guiding hand through the middle years, handled much of the sprite review and contribution for a good bit there Iamgoofball: A dedication to detail and aesthetic goals, spends a lot of effort dissecting feedback with a focus on making things as good as they can be at the jump Infrared: Part of the impetus for the project, made all the xenomorph stuff in the MS style Jacquerel: A bunch of little upkeep/technical things, has done so much sprite gruntwork (WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PAINTING TYPES) Justice12354: Solved a bunch of error sprites (and worked out how to actually make prs to the project) Thanks bro! Kryson: Built the artstyle of the project, carrying on for years even when it was technically dying, only stopping to casually beat cancer. So much of our style and art is Kryson KylerAce: Handled annoying technical stuff for me, built window frame logic and fully got rid of grilles. LemonInTheDark: Rendering dirtywork, project management and just so much fucking time in dreammaker editing sprites Meyhazah: Table buttons, brass windows and alll the old style doors Mothblocks: Has provided constant support, gave me a deadline and motivation, erased worries about "it not being done", gave just SO much money to fill in the critical holes in sprites. Thanks moth MTandi: Contributed art despite his own blackjack and hookers club opening right down the road, I'm sorry I rolled over some of your sprites man I wish we had finished earlier Ninjanomnomnom: Consulted on gags issues, kept things alive through some truly shit times oranges: This is his fault Rohesie: Organized the effort, did much of the initial like, proof of concept stuff. I hope you're doin well whatever you're up to. san7890: Consulting on mapper UX/design problems, being my pet mapper Senefi: Offsetting items with a focus on detail/the more unused canidates SimplyLogan: Detailed map work and mapper feedback, personally very kind even if we end up talking past each other sometimes. Thank you! SpaceSmithers: Just like, random mapping support out of nowhere, and bein a straight up cool dude Tattle: A bunch of misc project management stuff, organizing the discord, managing the test server, dealing with all the mapping bullshit for me, being my backup in case of bus. I know you think you didn't do much but your presence and work have been a great help Thunder12345: Came out of nowhere and just so much of the random bounties, I'm kind of upset about how much we paid him Time-Green: I hooked him in by fucking with stuff he made and now he's just doin shit, thanks for helping out man! Twaticus: Provided artistic feedback and authority for my poor feeble coder brain, believed in the project for YEARS, was a constant source of ❤️ and affirmation unit0016: I have no god damn idea who she is, popped out of nowhere on the github one day and dealt with a bunch of annoying rendering/refactoring. Godspeed random furry thank you for all your effort and issue reports Viro: A bunch of detailed spriting moving towards 3/4ths, both on and off the wallening fork. If anyone believed this project would be done, it was viro Wallem: Artistic review and consultation, was my go-to guy for a long time when the other two spritetainers were inactive Waltermeldon: Cracked out a bunch of rendering work, he's the reason windows look like not dogwater. Alongside floyd and action spent a TON of time speaking to lummox/unearthing how byond rendering worked trying to make this thing happen ZephyrTFA: Added directional airlock helpers, dealt with a big fuckin bugaboo that was living in my brain like it was nothing. Love you brother And finally: The Mojave Sun development team. They provided a testbed for the idea, committed hundreds and hundreds of hours to the artstyle, and were a large reason we caught issues early enough to meaningfully deal with them. Your work is a testament to what longterm effort and deep detailed care produce. I hope you're doing well whatever you're up to. The Voidwalker | New Midround Antagonist (#84674)
## The Voidwalker Adds a new antagonist, the Voidwalker! It's a rare antag that spawns in space when there's at least 40 people Design doc is here: https://hackmd.io/jE4YScP8RPykXo37rTBV2Q (there's some deviations) No biddle ## Summary Spooky space antag that moves around space, ambushing people either in space or near space. They can move through glass, have an ability to stamina drain you if they remain in your vision for 8 seconds, can temporarily remove glass windows to drag you through them and deal ~~stamina damage~~ incredibly violence. Upon being taken, they can be kidnapped and cursed, muting and pacifying the person and sending them to the void. ## Passive Passive abilities: - Permanent space flight and indoor flight - Space regen - Slowdown when in gravity - Space camo (very low alpha when in space - Can freely move through unshocked glass - Mute, but can hear all station frequencies (excluding binary) - Will quickly die when on planets or moons (obviously can't roll on icebox) - 10 brute armor and 20 burn armor. They can't wear any form of armor and don't have any get out of jail free cards, so I think it'll help with their survivability a slight bit ## Abilities **Void eater:** Literally just a light-eater but instead of eating light it instantly shatters windows, but restores them after a few seconds **Space Dive:** New ability that lets you move under the station with a 2 second do_after, so they can still get to closed of space spots without being as annoying as heretic space shift **Unsettle:** Remain in view of the target for 8 seconds to give them a short stun, slurring and 80 stamina damage, but announce your presence and location to them. Both you and your target can move, as long as you remain in their view. **Space Kidnap:** When your target is incapacitated and in space, you can drag them into the cosmic void. They'll be returned cursed after undergoing a sort of reverse heretic sacrifice (more on that in the next section). [Showcase of all the above abilities!](https://youtu.be/NJ01H28PV9w) ## Voided Crew A brain trauma received when you get kidnapped. While under it's influence, you are muted and pacified. You will die in planetary gravity and cannot enter space. It can be cured with a lobotomy or by dying in planetary gravity. You get warned to avoid the Voidwalker. The voidwalker now does extra damage and gets the option to glass gib you if you die, leaving just a brain ## Loot On death, the Voidwalker shatters into glass and drops a cosmic skull. Looking into the skull gives you a stable version of the Voided brain trauma. It doesn't give you pacifism and doesn't ban you from space. It also makes you space immune and gives you the ability to walk through unshocked glass after 2 seconds do_after. Sprites for the cosmic skull by Justice12354 and Rex9001! I'll throw up a video showcasing death and their sprites on Sunday ## Why It's Good For The Game We don't have any space centered antagonists. The closest we have are Space Dragons, but they have to go deep into the station anyway. I'm also quite fond of simpler antagonists, like revenant and nightmare. Give people the tools, and they'll make the fun themselves. I've been comparing the Voidwalker with the Nightmare. Both are goalles, simple antagonists, but where the Nightmare's gimmick is darkness, the Voidwalker's gimmick is space. They also get a dark tentacle arm so they can murderize people, but it only gets them to crit. After that they can drag people into the "void" to kidnap them. This is mostly to encourage the Voidwalker not to just space them cause that's kinda lame. They still can though, just in-case it would be very funny ## Changelog 🆑 Time-Green, Justice12354, Rex9001 add: Adds the Voidwalker, a new rare space based midround antagonist! code: Adds the ability to texture limbs and bodypart_overlays Sprite: Cosmic skull sprites by Justice12354 and Rex9001 /🆑 - [x] Add a better kidnapping mechanic, instead of just teleporting someone to a station turf - [x] Add an armblade or weapon or something, unarmed combat is kinda ass for this - [x] Fix the antag preview not rendering textures - [x] Prevent them from space phasing when in combat so they can actually be killed in space combat, even if really fucking hard - [x] Nerf visibility for people with space parallax disabled, probably also something to improve camo with colored parallax - [x] Replace the stamina damage stuff - [x] Cool rework of space phase idea I have - [x] Update/implement vidual effects - [x] Implement names ## Considerations There's a few things that I might change or implement later, depending on how it actually plays. It's a space focused antag, but there might not be enough people near space in a given round. An ability to let them "capture" area's or let them turn into a meteor or something might be needed later if they turn out to be too passive. They might also be _too_ oppressive in space. I designed them for near-space combat, but may've made them insanely overpowered in in raw space combat. Probably wont do biddle, but might add more powers that you can reroll every few minutes or something (like blob). Either wat it wont be this PR --------- Co-authored-by: carlarctg <53100513+carlarctg@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: MrMelbert <51863163+MrMelbert@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Jacquerel <hnevard@gmail.com> |
