Refactors the safe Christmas trees to use a safe present subtype by way of a blacklist (#5027)
## About The Pull Request Updates the safe tree to use a proper blacklist instead of being boring and just giving bloodthirsty spacemen and women toys... They were good all year, they crave violence. This replaces the round start Christmas trees with the safe trees, which no longer only give out toys, but also no longer give out admin/debug gear. A compromise for all, just in time for Christmas! The Christmas event present spawns have all been replaced with the safe variants that utilize the blacklist, the other means of acquiring presents have been left untouched. ## Why It's Good For The Game People not getting admin tools out of Christmas presents and causing headaches for staff is probably good for the game, maybe. ## Proof Of Testing <details> <summary>Screenshots/Videos</summary> <img width="418" height="452" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/df6554ee-084a-40c2-9592-94c88f6569c4" /> </details> ## Changelog 🆑 xPokee, LT3 balance: All Christmas event presents have been replaced with the safe variants. refactor: The safe Christmas tree subtype now uses a blacklist instead of just giving toys. admin: Added a new verb in the 'game' tab to blacklist presents on the fly. /🆑 |

Dynamic Rework (#91290)
Implements https://hackmd.io/@tgstation/SkeUS7lSp , rewriting Dynamic
from the ground-up
- Dynamic configuration is now vastly streamlined, making it far far far
easier to understand and edit
- Threat is gone entirely; round chaos is now determined by dynamic
tiers
- There's 5 dynamic tiers, 0 to 4.
- 0 is a pure greenshift.
- Tiers are just picked via weight - "16% chance of getting a high chaos
round".
- Tiers have min pop ranges. "Tier 4 (high chaos) requires 25 pop to be
selected".
- Tier determines how much of every ruleset is picked. "Tier 4 (High
Chaos) will pick 3-4 roundstart[1], 1-2 light, 1-2 heavy, and 2-3
latejoins".
- The number of rulesets picked depends on how many people are in the
server - this is also configurable[2]. As an example, a tier that
demands "1-3" rulesets will not spawn 3 rulesets if population <= 40 and
will not spawn 2 rulesets if population <= 25.
- Tiers also determine time before light, heavy, and latejoin rulesets
are picked, as well as the cooldown range between spawns. More chaotic
tiers may send midrounds sooner or wait less time between sending them.
- On the ruleset side of things, "requirements", "scaling", and
"enemies" is gone.
- You can configure a ruleset's min pop and weight flat, or per tier.
- For example a ruleset like Obsession is weighted higher for tiers 1-2
and lower for tiers 3-4.
- Rather than scaling up, roundstart rulesets can just be selected
multiple times.
- Rulesets also have `min_antag_cap` and `max_antag_cap`.
`min_antag_cap` determines how many candidates are needed for it to run,
and `max_antag_cap` determines how many candidates are selected.
- Rulesets attempt to run every 2.5 minutes. [3]
- Light rulesets will ALWAYS be picked before heavy rulesets. [4]
- Light injection chance is no longer 100%, heavy injection chance
formula has been simplified.
- Chance simply scales based on number of dead players / total number
off players, with a flag 50% chance if no antags exist. [5]
[1] This does not guarantee you will actually GET 3-4 roundstart
rulesets. If a roundstart ruleset is picked, and it ends up being unable
to execute (such as "not enough candidates", that slot is effectively a
wash.) This might be revisited.
[2] Currently, this is a hard limit - below X pop, you WILL get a
quarter or a half of the rulesets. This might be revisited to just be
weighted - you are just MORE LIKELY to get a quarter or a half.
[3] Little worried about accidentally frontloading everything so we'll
see about this
[4] This may be revisited but in most contexts it seems sensible.
[5] This may also be revisited, I'm not 100% sure what the best / most
simple way to tackle midround chances is.
Other implementation details
- The process of making rulesets has been streamlined as well. Many
rulesets only amount to a definition and `assign_role`.
- Dynamic.json -> Dynamic.toml
- Dynamic event hijacked was ripped out entirely.
- Most midround antag random events are now dynamic rulesets. Fugitives,
Morphs, Slaughter Demons, etc.
- The 1 weight slaughter demon event is gone. RIP in peace.
- There is now a hidden midround event that simply adds +1 latejoin, +1
light, or +1 heavy ruleset.
- `mind.special_role` is dead. Minds have a lazylist of special roles
now but it's essentially only used for traitor panel.
- Revs refactored almost entirely. Revs can now exist without a dynamic
ruleset.
- Cult refactored a tiny bit.
- Antag datums cleaned up.
- Pre round setup is less centralized on Dynamic.
- Admins have a whole panel for interfacing with dynamic. It's pretty
slapdash I'm sure someone could make a nicer looking one.

- Maybe some other things.
See readme for more info.
Will you see a massive change in how rounds play out? My hunch says
rounds will spawn less rulesets on average, but it's ultimately to how
it's configured
🆑 Melbert
refactor: Dynamic rewritten entirely, report any strange rounds
config: Dynamic config reworked, it's now a TOML file
refactor: Refactored antag roles somewhat, report any oddities
refactor: Refactored Revolution entirely, report any oddities
del: Deleted most midround events that spawn antags - they use dynamic
rulesets now
add: Dynamic rulesets can now be false alarms
add: Adds a random event that gives dynamic the ability to run another
ruleset later
admin: Adds a panel for messing around with dynamic
admin: Adds a panel for chance for every dynamic ruleset to be selected
admin: You can spawn revs without using dynamic now
fix: Nuke team leaders get their fun title back

Crafting refactor, implementing materials (#89465)
My original plan was to just implement materials into crafting so that items would inherit the materials of their components, allowing for some interesting stuff if the material flags of the item allow it. However to my dismay crafting is a pile of old tech debt, starting from the old `del_reqs` and `CheckParts` which still contain lines about old janky bandaids that are no longer in use nor reachable, up to the `customizable_reagent_holder` component which has some harddel issues when your custom food is sliced, and items used in food recipes not being deleted and instead stored inside the result with no purpose as well as other inconsistencies like stack recipes that transfer materials having counterparts in the UI that don't do that. EDIT: Several things have come up while working on this, so I apologise that it ended up changing over 100+ files. I managed to atomize some of the changes, but it's a bit tedious. EDIT: TLDR because I was told this section is too vague and there's too much going on. This PR: - Improves the dated crafting code (not the UI). - replaced `atom/CheckParts` and `crafting_recipe/on_craft_completion` with `atom/on_craft_completion`. - Reqs used in food recipes are now deleted by default and not stored inside the result (they did nothing). - Renames the customizable_reagent_holder comp and improves it (No harddels/ref issues). - Adds a unit test that tries to craft all recipes to see what's wrong (it skips some of the much more specific reqs for now). - In the unit test is also the code to make sure materials of the crafted item and a non-crafted item of the same type are roughly the same, so far only applied to food. - Some mild material/food refactoring around the fact that food item code has been changed to support materials. Improving the backbone of the crafting system. Also materials and food code. 🆑 refactor: Refactored crafting backend. Report possible pesky bugs. balance: the MEAT backpack (from the MEAT cargo pack) may be a smidge different because of code standardization. /🆑 |

Part 2: Storage Improvements (#90390)
## About The Pull Request Continuation of #90365 - Formatted some usages of `set_holdable()` to be more readable - `exception_hold` list now stores its values inside ` GLOB.cached_storage_typecaches`. This means we don't have to manage a static typecache list per storage but can share the value across all storages making memory management slightly more efficient - Monkey cube boxes now cannot hold gorilla cubes cause that would make gorilla cube boxes obsolete also now gorilla cube boxes can now only hold gorilla cubes & not general monkey cubes(which gorilla cubes is a subtype of) cause that would make monkey cube boxes obsolete. We are specializing each box for that specific use case ## Changelog 🆑 code: further improved storage code fix: monkey cube boxes can no longer hold gorilla cubes & vice versa /🆑 |

Revert "Refactor for storage initialization & organization (#89543)" (#90332)
## About The Pull Request Reverts the storage initialization refactor and all subsequent related PRs. The original PR is below our standards both for code quality and testing, and is majorly flawed at its core. This has been discussed with other maintainers and headcoder(s?) over on discord. A lot of changes from the PR could be brought over later, but in its current state it should not have been merged. - Closes #90322 - Closes #90313 - Closes #90315 - Closes #90320 - Closes #90312 - Closes #90344 ## Why It's Good For The Game This PR causes a series of major issues which cannot be resolved without either completely rewriting a lot of the original PR, or bad code. Not matching our standards is grounds for not merging a PR, and the fact that a PR should not have been merged is a reason for a revert. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Fixed a series of storage-related bugs caused by a refactor PR. /🆑 |

Refactor for storage initialization & organization (#89543)
## About The Pull Request A Huge chunk of changes just comes from moving existing storage code into new files & seperating `atom_storage` code into its own subtype under the already existing `storage/subtypes` folder. With that the changes in this PR can be organized into 3 categories. **1. Refactors how `/obj/item/storage/PopulateContents()` initializes storages** - Fixes #88747 and every other storage item that has a similar variant of this problem The problem with `PopulateContents()` is that it allows you to create atoms directly inside the storage via `new(src)` thus bypassing all the access restrictions enforced by `/datum/storage/can_insert()` resulting in storages holding stuff they shouldn't be able to hold. Now how this proc works has been changed. It must now only return a list of items(each item in the list can either be a typepath or a solid atom or a mix of them in any order) that should be inserted into the storage. Each item is then passed into `can_insert()` to check if it can fit in the storage. If your list contains solid atoms they must be first moved to/Initialized in nullspace so `can_insert()` won't count it as already inserted. `can_insert()` has now also been refactored to throw stack traces but explaining exactly why the item could not fit in the storage thus giving you more debugging details to fix your stuff. A large majority of changes is refactoring `PopulateContents()` to return a list instead of simply creating the item in place so simple 1 line changes & with that we have fixed all broken storages(medical toolbox. electrical toolbox, cruisader armor boxes & many more) that hold more items they can handle **2. Organizes initialization of `atom_storage` for storage subtypes.** All subtypes of `/obj/item/storage` should(not enforced) create their own `/datum/storage/` subtype under the folder `storage/subtypes` if the default values are not sufficient. This is the 2nd change done across all existing storages Not only does this bring code cleanliness & organization (separating storage code from item code like how `/datum/wire` code is separated into its own sub folder) but it also makes storage initialization slightly faster (because you are not modifying default values after `atom_storage` is initialized but you are directly setting the default value in place). You now cannot & should not modify `atom_storage` values inside `PopulateContents()`. This will make that proc as pure as possible so less side effects. Of course this principle is not enforced and you can still modify the storage value after `Initialize()` but this should not be encouraged in the future **3. Adds support for automatic storage computations** Most people don't understand how `atom_storage` values work. The comment here clearly states that https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/55bbfef0da70d87455ca8d6fd5c95107eb8dbefb/code/game/objects/items/storage/toolbox.dm#L327-L329 Because of that the linked issue occurs not just for medical toolbox but for a lot of other items as well. Which is why if you do not know what you doing, `PopulateContents()` now comes with a new storage parameter i.e. `/datum/storage_config` This datum allows you to compute storage values that will perfectly fit with the initial contents of your storage. It allows you to do stuff like computing `max_slots`, `max_item_weight`, `max_total_weight` etc based on your storage initial contents so that all the contents can fit perfectly leaving no space for excess. ## Changelog 🆑 fix: storages are no longer initialized with items that can't be put back in after taking them out refactor: storage initialization has been refactored. Food types are now passed down when cooking from recipes. (#89706)
## About The Pull Request ~~I have some beef with the cooking system.~~ Cooking recipes are coded in a way that disregard the possibility for their components to have different foodtype flags than the ones you would find normally find. For example, if I wanted to make corned beef, but instead of a standard steak, I used a killer tomato "steak", the result would still have the meat food type, even if none of the components has it. I've had to resort to a few hacky lines of code to manipulate the food types from the edible component, but that can be easily fixed if #89687 is merged. ## Why It's Good For The Game This also makes cooking recipes less strict about their food types and can help us spot inconsistencies with recipes. ## Changelog 🆑 qol: Food types are now passed down when cooking from recipes. For example, a plate of corned "beef" made from giant killer tomato slabs no longer counts as meat but only vegetables now. fix: Fixed a metric ton of inconsistencies with food types and recipes. fix: Dank-pockets (the weed variant) can now be microwaved. /🆑 |

Base implementation of /datum/persistent_client (#89449)
## About The Pull Request Converts `/datum/player_details` into `/datum/persistent_client`. Persistent Clients persist across connections. The only time a mob's persistent client will change is if the ckey it's bound to logs into a different mob, or the mob is deleted (duh). Also adds PossessByPlayer() so that transfering mob control is cleaner and makes more immediate sense if you don't know byond-fu. ## Why It's Good For The Game Clients are an abstract representation of a connection that can be dropped at almost any moment so putting things that should be stable to access at any time onto an undying object is ideal. This allows for future expansions like abstracting away client.screen and managing everything cleanly. |

The death or internal/external organ pathing (ft. fixed fox ears and recoloring bodypart overlays with dye sprays) (#87434)
## About The Pull Request This PR kills the abstract internal and external typepaths for organs, now replaced by an EXTERNAL_ORGAN flag to distinguish the two kinds. This PR also fixes fox ears (from #87162, no tail is added) and mushpeople's caps (they should be red, the screenshot is a tad outdated). And yes, you can now use a hair dye spray to recolor body parts like most tails, podpeople hair, mushpeople caps and cat ears. The process can be reversed by using the spray again. ## Why It's Good For The Game Time-Green put some effort during the last few months to untie functions and mechanics from external/internal organ pathing. Now, all that this pathing is good for are a few typechecks, easily replaceable with bitflags. Also podpeople and mushpeople need a way to recolor their "hair". This kind of applies to fish tails from the fish infusion, which colors can't be selected right now. The rest is just there if you ever want to recolor your lizard tail for some reason. Proof of testing btw (screenshot taken before mushpeople cap fix, right side has dyed body parts, moth can't be dyed, they're already fabolous): ## Changelog 🆑 code: Removed internal/external pathing from organs in favor of a bit flag. Hopefully this shouldn't break anything about organs. fix: Fixed invisible fox ears. fix: Fixed mushpeople caps not being colored red by default. add: You can now dye most tails, podpeople hair, mushpeople caps etc. with a hair dye spray. /🆑 |

Removes caps from many improper items (#86759)
## About The Pull Request Removes caps from many improper items. For example - Heated Rebar Crossbow -> heated rebar crossbow I've kept a lot of items untouched because for some reason or another it felt nicer to me that they be, uh, capsed. For example Hat of the Honkmother, anything that has 'weight' to it. There's also some minor name changes that I think fit better, such as Rebar Storage Quiver -> rebar quiver. I mean, we already know it's for storage. That's the whole point of quivers. ## Why It's Good For The Game This is one of my biggest pet peeves, Randomly Capitalized Items For No Reason. It looks sloppy, awkward, and half-assed. This PR brings a lot of the worst offenders in line. if your name isn't a proper noun it almost never should have caps. ## Changelog 🆑 spellcheck: Removes caps from many improper items /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: LT3 <83487515+lessthnthree@users.noreply.github.com> |

Wallening [IDB IGNORE] [MDB IGNORE] (#85491)
## What's going on here Kept you waitin huh! This pr resprites most all walls, windows and other "wall adjacent" things to a 3/4th perspective, technical term is "tall" walls (we are very smart). If you're trying to understand the technical details here, much of the "rendering tech" is built off the idea of split-vis. Basically, split a sprite up and render it on adjacent turfs, to prevent seeing "through" walls/doors, and to support seeing "edges" without actually seeing the atom itself. Most of the rest of it is pipelining done to accommodate how icons are cut. ## Path To Merge Almost* all sprites and code is done at this point. There are some things missing both on and off the bounty list, but that will be the case forever unless we force upstream (you guys) to stop adding new shit that doesn't fit the style. I plan on accepting and integrating prs to the current working repo <https://github.com/wall-nerds/wallening> up until a merge, to make contribution simpler and allow things like bounties to close out more easily This pr is quite bulky, even stripping away map changes it's maybe 7000 LOC (We have a few maps that were modified with UpdatePaths, I am also tentatively pring our test map, for future use.) This may inhibit proper review, although that is part of why I am willing to make it despite my perfectionism. Apologies in advance. Due to the perspective shift, a lot of mapping work is going to need to be done at some point. This comes in varying levels of priority. Many wallmounts are offset by hand, some are stuck in the wall/basically cannot be placed on the east/west/north edges of walls (posters), some just don't look great good in their current position. Tests are currently a minor bit yorked, I thought it was more important to get this up then to clean them fully. ## What does it look like? ## Credits <details> <summary>Historical Mumbojumbo</summary> I am gonna do my best to document how this project came to be. I am operating off third party info and half remembered details, so if I'm wrong please yell at me. This project started sometime in late 2020, as a product of Rohesie trying to integrate and make easier work from Mojave Sun (A recently defunct fallout server) with /tg/. Mojave Sun (Apparently this was LITERALLY JUST infrared baron, that man is insane) was working with tall walls, IE walls that are 48px tall instead of the normal 32. This was I THINK done based off a technical prototype from aao7 proving A it was possible and B it didn't look like dogwater. This alongside oranges begging the art team for 3/4th walls (he meant TGMC style) lead to Rohesie bringing on contributors from general /tg/, including actionninja who would eventually take over as technical lead and Kryson, who would define /tg/'s version of the artstyle. Much of the formative aspects of this project are their work. The project was coming along pretty well for a few months, but ran into serious technical issues with `SIDE_MAP`, a byond map_format that allows for simpler 3/4th rendering. Due to BULLSHIT I will not detail here, the map format caused issues both at random with flickering and heavily with multiz. Concurrent with this, action stepped down after hacking out the rendering tech and starting work on an icon cutter that would allow for simpler icon generation, leaving ninjanomnom to manage the project. Some time passed, and the project stalled out due to the technical issues. Eventually I built a test case for the issues we had with `SIDE_MAP` and convinced lummox jr (byond's developer) to explain how the fuckin thing actually worked. This understanding made the project theoretically possible, but did not resolve the problems with multi-z. Resolving those required a full rework of how rendering like, worked. I (alongside tattle) took over project development from ninjanomnom at this time, and started work on Plane Cube (#69115), which when finished would finally make the project technically feasible. The time between then and now has been slow, progressive work. Many many artists and technical folks have dumped their time into this (as you can see from the credits). I will get into this more below but I would like to explicitly thank (in no particular order) tattle, draco, arcanemusic, actionninja, imaginos, viro and kylerace for keeping the project alive in this time period. I would have curled up into a ball and died if I had to do this all myself, your help has been indispensable. </details> <details> <summary>Detailed Credits</summary> Deep apologies if I have forgotten someone (I am sure I have, if someone is you please contact me). I've done my best to collate from the git log/my memory. Thanks to (In no particular order): Raccoff: Being funny to bully, creating threshold decals for airlocks aa07: (I think) inspiring the project ActionNinja: Laying the technical rock we build off, supporting me despite byond trying to kill him, building the icon cutter that makes this possible ArcaneMusic: Artistic and technical work spanning from the project's start to literally today, being a constant of motivation and positivity. Fixes some missing poll_ghost_candidates sanity checking for ghost role based events (#83107)
poll_ghost_candidates can return null if nobody signs up, these weren't properly checking for that case. Also moved the Santa ghost role over to the proper subtype (not sure if it was outright broken, but it'll now properly update the Santa's role and trigger automatically.) ``` [14:41:54] Runtime in code/modules/events/ghost_role/sentience.dm, line 77: Cannot read null.vars proc name: spawn role (/datum/round_event/ghost_role/sentience/spawn_role) src: /datum/round_event/ghost_role/... Makes the easter event spawning logic use a more curated list (#82275)
## About The Pull Request The easter rabbit event looped through every single landmark in the game, not checking for zlevel or purpose, just that they would not be called "blobspawn". This PR makes the logic more curated, using generic and maintenance event landmarks for normal bunnies, and carpspawn for space rabbits. Also added check_tick checks for a good measure. There is a still a lot of them! I counted around 50 bunnies on average per test. ## Why It's Good For The Game A more curated list is better than a list that checks for name strings. Ensures the rabbits spawn only on the station Z levels. ## Changelog 🆑 code: Made the easter rabbits spawn on a more curated list. /🆑 |

Removes Orbit Polling Component, SSpolling improvement (#81748)
When I made SSpolling, jlsnow gave me his blessing to delete the orbit polling component [where you orbit something for 20 seconds before it chooses a ghost from the orbiters] It's only used in a few places like soulstones replacing jobbanned/inactive players, etc. Also upgraded SSpolling; you can now place a little icon on the sides in the chat message, chat message looks a lot nicer, the alert pic and the jump target don't have to be the same anymore, and I made it be able to pre-pick candidates since 90% of the use cases would just want 1 candidate Also prints to chat who the chosen one was Also made slime intelligence potions ask the user for a reason, which will be displayed in the alert poll |

Valentines Day Rework (Better Late Than Never) (#81499)
## About The Pull Request Big changes: - Participation is Valentines day requires consent, as consent is important. - When the event triggers, all valid players are automatically signed up to get a random date. However if you're uninterested, you can opt out of getting a date. - This uses the same system as ghost role polling, so it's a non-obstrusive screen alert + chat box entry. - AIs are now given a zeroth law to protect their date. - This does not override existing zeroth laws (for malf ais). - This zeroth is law is worded in a way such that they are not effectively malf AIs. Their other laws still apply, but not for situations pertaining to their date. - Cyborgs are desynced from AIs and are given similar zeroth laws to protect their date. Small changes: - Valentines cards are now paper. Meaning you can write on them, stamp them, or yes, burn them. - Third wheeling is more codified than before. Third wheels get their own antag datum type. - The antag panel listing in roundend takes up significantly less room for each date. Additionally, dates are now paired up with each other. - Adds implementations for getting pronouns from mind datums. ## Why It's Good For The Game It's 2024 and our Valentines day is sooo 2012. I'm a big fan of Valentines Day, personally - it gives me the opportunity to mess around with another player that I probably would not otherwise mess around with, getting into shenanigans I would not otherwise. But as the years have gone by it's gotten pretty lackluster. Some people like it as much as I do, but others ditch it entirely and ignore the objectives. And if you get paired with someone ignoring it, well, now you're out of luck! This is something I'm aiming to rectify by making it opt-in when it triggers rather than forced. All the people participating will be guaranteed to get someone who cares about the event as much, which makes it more fun. As for the silicon changes, there's been lots of confusion around silicons and their dates, so I thought I'd fix it here as well. Also, better late than never? ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert add: Valentines Day now polls all players for candidates when it triggers rather than forcing all players to be a Valentine. Consent is important. add: Valentine silicons now gain special laws pertaining to their date. qol: Valentines Cards are now paper, so you can write on them, stamp them, or burn them. qol: Valentine's roundend report no longer takes up a massive amount of space and also no longer sound so, so weird. /🆑 |

Better Ghost Selection (#80283)
## About The Pull Request Revived my old PR https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/68901 Replaces the annoying tgui alert popup "Do you want to be X? | Yes | No | Never for this round" that is hard to read and steals window focus, with a nice clean alert in the top right that counts down. If it's the same event/mob they stack with 2x, 3x, etc. It also shows how many candidates/ghosts are signed up. The poll alerts have screentips too, they countdown and show if you're signed up, how many people are signed up, if you chose "never for this round" (which is cancelable) ## Why It's Good For The Game Way easier to see what role is available, you get a nice pic of the role and get it's name in big text, you can cancel "never for this round", and you can cancel signing up for a role before the timer is up ## Changelog 🆑 refactor: Ghost roles now offer ghosts a clickable poll button. Ghosts can select a role, deselect it, alt-click it for "Never For This Round", can cancel "Never", can see the countdown, and can see how many other people are signed up for the role poll. /🆑 |

Fixes coffin cookie being invisible (#80179)
## About The Pull Request - Fixes #80161 It's a seasonal bug i.e. occurs only during the holiday seasons. Yeah so its caused by this code https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/blob/2a359b817874c4bb52be814551780af304cc9e07/code/game/objects/items/food/pastries.dm#L191-L194 So like it changes the icon state based on the season. Unfortunately none of the icon states it picks are located in the icon file `'icons/obj/holiday/halloween_items.dmi` i.e. it causes an invalid icon state causing it to go invisible(not spooky just a bug). We now make sure this cookie type does not change based on the season. It will stay unique throughout the year ## Changelog 🆑 fix: coffin cookies are no longer invisible during the holiday seasons /🆑 --------- Co-authored-by: MrMelbert <51863163+MrMelbert@users.noreply.github.com> |

Reagent soup / Soup rework / Stoves - A kitchen expansion (#74205)
## About The Pull Request **This PR:** - Reworks most* existing soup into reagents. - Adds Stoves and Ranges. Ranges replace most* existing ovens. - Adds soup pots, to cook soup **How does it work?** In the kitchen you will find a stove now. Stoves act as a "reagent container heater", essentially a chem heater. You can set a pot onto the stove. To make soup, visit the cooking recipe book for a guide. Most recipes are the same as before, just tweaked slightly - Add water to the pot (50 units for 1 batch generally), then add all the corresponding ingredients to the pot. Set the pot out on the stove and right click it to turn it on. If the recipe's correct, shortly it will start to mix and give you soup! One soup recipe will give you roughly 3 servings of soup. You can pour our the soup into a bowl using a ladle or just by pouring it manually. Of note: **All of the reagent contents of the ingredient are transferred into the soup.** Better, more nutrient rich ingredients produces more soup, and poisoned produce will pass it on. If you place the soup into a chem master, you will notice it's roughly half "soup reagent" and half a variety of reagents, including nutriments / proteins. This is your soup! It is recommended you serve your soup with the reagents included, as they make up more nutrition for the customer, however you can separate it out if you're picky. **Todo:** - [x] Fill out the PR body a bit more - [x] Mapping (wait for big merge conflict pr to go past) - [x] Soup colors - [x] Balance pass over for soup recipes - [x] TODOs - [ ] Unit tests - [x] Cullen Skink's recipe is invalid - [x] Try to see if there's an easy way to prevent soup from fattening you up too easy. ## Why it's good for the game Adds some more depth to the kitchen and moves chef away from the click-button-get-food style that exists. Allows for inherently custom soups by the way of making it reagents, so no need to support custom soup food items. ## Changelog 🆑 Melbert, stove and pot sprites by Kryson, ladle sprite by Kinneb add: Kitchens are now stocked with Ranges. add: You can now print (and create) Stoves. add: The dinnerware vendor now dispenses ladles. add: Spoons can now actually spoon... things. add: Soup has been reworked entirely. Soups are now reagents, cooked via a soup pot on a Stove or Range. Simply add water and your required items, then apply heat. Be careful not to boil over! add: Stoves, Ranges, and Griddles will now heat up their surroundings - don't turn them on around plasma! fix: Fixes being able to cook in an Oven while the room is depowered qol: Hitting a customer bot with an incorrect recipe no longer counts as a hostile attack leading to your demise shortly after refactor: Customer bots that request a reagent now use custom orders code: Cut down a lot of code in the crafting menu code, and removes some ugly ispaths del: Soup is no longer food items, so can't appear in random food pools (at least not yet). balance: Virus Food recipe now requires you cool it to 200k. /🆑 |

Lints Against Unmanaged Local Defines (#74333)
# MAINTAINER - USE THE BUTTON THAT SAYS "MERGE MASTER" THEN SET THE PR TO AUTO-MERGE! IT'S MUCH EASIER FOR ME TO FIX THINGS BEFORE THEY SKEW RATHER THAN AFTER THE FACT. ## About The Pull Request Hey there, This took a while to do, but here's the gist: Python file now regexes every file in `/code` except for those that have some valid reason to be tacking on more global defines. Some of those reasons are simply just that I don't have the time right now (doing what you see in this PR took a few hours) to refactor and parse what should belong and what should be thrown out. For the time being though, this PR will at least _halt_ people making the mistake of not `#undef`ing any files they `#define` "locally", or within the scope of a file. Most people forget to do this and this leads to a lot of mess later on due to how many variables can be unmanaged on the global level. I've made this mistake, you've made this mistake, it's a common thing. Let's automatically check for it so it can be fixed no-stress. Scenarios this PR corrects: * Forgetting to undef a define but undeffing others. * Not undeffing any defines in your file. * Earmarking a define as a "file local" define, but not defining it. * Having a define be a "file local" define, but having it be used elsewhere. * Having a "local" define not even be in the file that it only shows up in. * Having a completely unused define* (* I kept some of these because they seemed important... Others were junked.) ## Why It's Good For The Game If you wanna use it across multiple files, no reason to not make it a global define (maybe there's a few reasons but let's assume that this is the 95% case). Let me know if you don't like how I re-arranged some of the defines and how you'd rather see it be implemented, and I'd be happy to do that. This was mostly just "eh does it need it or not" sorta stuff. I used a pretty cool way to detect if we should use the standardized GitHub "error" output, you can see the results of that here https://github.com/san7890/bruhstation/actions/runs/4549766579/jobs/8022186846#step:7:792 ## Changelog Nothing that really concerns players. (I fixed up all this stuff using vscode, no regexes beyond what you see in the python script. sorry downstreams) |

Refactor, improve, and rename canUseTopic to be can_perform_action (#73434)
This builds on what #69790 did and improved the code even further. Notable things: - `Topic()` is a deprecated proc in our codebase (replaced with Javascript tgui) so it makes sense to rename `canUseTopic` to `can_perform_action` which is more straightforward in what it does. - Positional and named arguments have been converted into a easier to use `action_bitflag` - The bitflags adds some new checks you can use like: `NEED_GRAVITY | NEED_LITERACY | NEED_LIGHT` when you want to perform an action. - Redundant, duplicate, or dead code has been removed. - Fixes several runtimes where `canUseTopic` was being called without a proper target (IV drips, gibber, food processor) - Better documentation for the proc and bitflags with examples |

Makes dog a basic mob [MDB IGNORE] (#70799)
About The Pull Request
Made a basic version of the pet base called /mob/living/basic/pet. It's significantly more stripped down from the old simple_animal one, because its half collar stuff and...
Made the collar slot a component that you could theoretically remove from a pet to disable the behavior, or add to any other living mob as long as you set up the icon states for the collar (or not, the visuals are optional).
The corgi's collar strippable slot is now generally the pet collar slot, and in theory could be used for other pet stripping screens.
I also gutted the extra access card code from /mob/living/basic/pet as it's only being used by corgis. Having a physical ID is now just inherent to corgis, as they're the only ones that could equip it anyway.
Ported the make_babies() function from simple_animals to a new subtree and associated behavior, called /datum/ai_planning_subtree/make_babies that uses blackboards to know the animal-specific info.
Note that it's marginally improved, as the female walks to the male first instead of bluespace reproduction.
Tweaked and improved the dog AI to work as a basic mob, including making /datum/idle_behavior/idle_dog fully functional.
Made a /datum/ai_planning_subtree/random_speech/dog that pulls the dynamic speech and emotes to support dog fashion.
I've tested base collars across multiple pet types.
For dogs, I've tested general behavior, fetching, reproduction, dog fashion, and deadchat_plays, covering all the oddities I'm aware of.

Refactors Rabbits to be a Basic Mob (#71205)
## About The Pull Request Back in #64175, I reworked rabbits such that their base behavior was just a cute fluffy snuggle monster, and not have the "easter" variant be the default. Now that we're transitioning everything from simple_animal to basic, I figured now was the time to shift that over too. Pretty much everything should be the same as it was before, I even took some time to add behavior to some elements to allow it to work (let me know if I should handle it a different way) but rabbits as a simple_animal and rabbits as a basic mob should now not be very distinguishable (beyond the fact that they only speak via subtrees). I also got rid of the single-letter icon_states in the DMI and accomodated the code to fix because I finally got irritated enough to do something about that. ## Why It's Good For The Game Although I didn't really have any pressing urge to add more complex AI behavior to rabbits than just pretty much re-implementing what they had as a simple_animal, this is an excellent first-step to allowing much more extensible behaviors to these fuzzy creatures. Also, it takes three more mobs off "the frozen list". Whoopie! ## Changelog 🆑 fix: Dead Black Space Rabbits should now properly have a sprite. /🆑 The UpdatePaths is useless for the maps we have on our repository (holodecks use a spawner code-side), but I'm going to be nice to downstreams who need it. |

Optimizes qdel related things (slight init time savings) (#70729)
* Moves spawners and decals to a different init/delete scheme Rather then fully creating and then immediately deleting these things, we instead do the bare minimum. This is faster, if in theory more fragile. We should be safe since any errors should be caught in compile since this is very close to a "static" action. It does mean these atoms cannot use signals, etc. * Potentially saves init time, mostly cleans up a silly pattern We use sleeps and INVOKE_ASYNC to ensure that handing back turfs doesn't block a space reservation, but this by nature consumes up to the threshold and a bit more of whatever working block we were in. This is silly. Should just be a subsystem, so I made it one, with support for awaiting its finish if you want to * Optimizes garbage/proc/Queue slightly Queue takes about 1.6 seconds to process 26k items right now. The MASSIVE majority of this time is spent on using \ref This is because \ref returns a string, and that string requires being inserted into the global cache of strings we store What I'm doing is caching the result of ANY \ref on the datum it's applied to. This ensures previous uses will never decay from the string tree. This saves about 0.2 seconds of init |

canUseTopic now uses TRUE/FALSE instead of defines that just say TRUE (#69790)
* canUseTopic now uses TRUE/FALSE instead of defines that just say TRUE The most idiotic thing I've seen is canUseTopic's defines, they literally just define TRUE, you can use it however you want, it doesn't matter, it just means TRUE. You can mix and match the args and it will set that arg to true, despite the name. It's so idiotic I decided to remove it, so now I can reclaim a little bit of my sanity. |

Event menu rewrite (#68472)
About The Pull Request
kép
This PR does the following:
Force event menu uses tgUI.
Arranged events into categories, and added a little description to each. The descriptions appear as tooltips when you hover over the Trigger button.
Rewrote how "Announce to crew?" works. It no longer pops up a panel after the event has been already announced. Instead, the admins select it via a checkbox, and the result is passed through an optional argument.
announceChance's comment is tweaked a bit to reflect how it actually works at the moment.
Moved rpgtitles to wizard events, where it belongs.
Fake Virus and Electric Storms show up to observers, as I believe they are not as common as Space Dust or Camera Failure, and should be cancelable.
Potential issues:
This only solves half of #68408, I don't think admin triggering having a timer and a cancel button is a big issue, as it allows other admins to overrule you if needed, but if i is, I will try to fix it within this PR.
Fixes #68408. Events now spawn immediately, and the the announceChance is overwritten before it begins.
My choices for categories and descriptions might not be the best, feedback would be appreciated.
Why It's Good For The Game
The old spawn menu was completely unorganized, and you could only search using the browser search tool. I believe a built in search bar helps with this issue a bit. I also believe that organizing the events into categories, and adding descriptions will help with newer admins who might not be familiar with all events.

Modernizing Radiation -- TL;DR: Radiation is now a status effect healed by tox healing, and contamination is removed (#62265)
Implements the Modernizing radiation design document ( https://hackmd.io/@tgstation/rJNIyeBHt ) and replaces the current radiation sources with the new system, as well as replacing/removing a bunch of old consumers of radiation that either had no reason to exist, or could be replaced by something else. Diverges from the doc in that items radiation don't go up like explained. I was going to, but items get irradiated so easily that it just feels pretty lame. Items still get irradiated, but it's mostly just so that radiation sources look cooler (wow, lots of stuff around going green), and for things like the geiger counter. Instead of the complicated radiation_wave system, radiation now just checks everything between the radiation source and the potential target, losing power along the way based on the radiation insulation of whats in between. If this reaches too low a point (specified by radiation_pulse consumers), then the radiation will not pass. Otherwise, will roll a chance to irradiate. Uranium structures allow a delay before irradiating, so stay away! |
